live from the cbs broadcast center in philadelphia. this is cbs-3 "eyewitness news " this morning. septa riders could be in for a tough morning rush this morning. the transit agency has been forced to pull more cars off the market frankford line. our trang do live along the l with a look at the morning commute. >> and good morning to you. i'm rahel solomon. >> i'm katie fehlinger. >> and i'm jim donovan. here's what you need to know in your morning minute. >> a headache for commuters this morning, as septa pulls dozens of cars from the market frankford "el." that's after tracks were found in two cars. cracks were found in two cars. >> syrian family denied entry at philadelphia international airport. they are arriving at jfk airport this morning. meanwhile the trump administration is appealing a ruling that is halting his travel ban.

have just really taken, i don't know, i have no -- they've grown accustomed to my face? whatever. hey, i actually got one for the weather team. so all right, guys, we will take a look what's going on with the weather department here. at the moment pretty tranquil outside, couple every clouds, nothing more, those actually continue to thin over time. we end up with more sun than anything. currently temperatures into the mid and upper 30s, mid 20 's in millville. forty currently in trenton, little variety pack, but with that said, it is quiet outside take a look, far off to the southwest. where in birm ng ham, little rock, currently in the 50's, some of that warmth is going to be headed our way. and we will find ourselves into little taste of spring in the days ahead. there is always a trade off. and there will be in the form after pretty large front tomorrow. for now enjoy. >> this sunny skies, light wind. upper four's, not bad for the standards. and as we quickly look at the headlines, calm before the storm.

enjoy it, you need the umbrella tomorrow. hint, hint, the kind of pre zip takes looking ahead, major temperature swing comes along with series of systems coming our way. so we walk you through the timing of this, america -- meisha. >> thank you so much. we will see little of this today, good morning, happy monday, disable vehicle, blue route approaching the schuylkill. pulled off to the right shoulder. starting to have a shake up of vehicles, putting on brakes, sneaking up on you because it is still dark out there. heads up. again this is blue route southbound a proarchg the schuylkill, pulled off to the shoulder. it does kind of sneak up on you. then the vine tail light moving in the westbound direction before the schuylkill, looking okay there , 95, tail light moving in the southbound direction at the airport. also, looking good, there. and just heads up, talking about this now over the weekend, inspectors found, too , cracks into the rail cars so because that far, we have car shortage, 30 to 40 cars short, over-crowding, delays during the peak hours. no a and b stop service,

supplemental bus service. you can send us tweets all morning long. and i'm tweeting all knowledge long. rahel, back to. >> if you rely on the l to get to work or school there is next stormy for you. >> discovered tracks underneath a couple of their cars as meisha mentioned, so they yanked dozens every cars off the tracks. live at the transportation center with more on how this will affect the morning rush. good morning, trang. >> reporter: good morning, still quiet here at this early hour. things are starting to pick up , more people show up to head on over to work. but take a look. like i said, very, very quiet here. still plenty of of room on the platform as well as on trains at this point. septa says the rail cars still in service, have been inspected, do not have this particular defect. but they've pulled 30, 40 cars out of service, the latest hit to septa commuters after year of number of issues last year including the septa strike. but inspectors found crack in

the body bolster of one. market frankford line cars during routine maintenance, that connect the body of the rail car to the trust which moves along the tracks. inspectors then found another car with the same issue and went onto pull all cars showing signs of potential cracks. this is a different issue than what side lined 120 regional rail silver liner cars last summer, but for commuters it has been just as inconvenient. we did get reaction from septa riders earlier this morning, issues that took many people by surprise. >> as long as everything is okay, and thankfully they did find the crack. hopefully they fix it quick. >> now the deal with the demand septa is adding shuttle bus service at certain stops along the market frankford line. and staff will direct commuters to these buses if the trains and platforms get little too crowded. that's between six a.m. and ten a.m. and also for the afternoon commute from three p.m. to 7:00 p.m. also bee we don't with a to

note no a and b train line service. they'll stop at every stop. septa saying this could affect the commute all week. we should learn more at a news conference which is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. this afternoon. but for now, liver from bridge and pratt, i'm trang do, cbs-3 , "eyewitness news." jim, rahel, back to you. >> no express lines, trang, thank you. >> time now 5:36. in business news this morning, why banking stocks are sky-rocketing. >> of course we check in with the superbowl commercial. money watch's jill wagner joins us live from the new york stock exchange, good morning, jill. >> reporter: good morning, jim , rahel. futures pointing to higher open on friday, the dow rose 186 points, the nasdaq up 30. overall though it was a down week for the markets last week banking stocks are soaring, ass president trump looks to scale back regulations on the financial industry. on friday, he directed the treasury secretary to look for possible changes to the dodge law put in place after the 2008 financial crisis. big change at tiffany's, ceo

after a shooting in southwest philadelphia's elmwood section police say he was shot in the face here on the 6200 block every dickens avenue. the incident happened around midnight ef and so far no motive or suspect. >> and police continue to investigate a shooting in the city's juniata park neighborhood. that left a man hospitalized overnight. gunshots rang out on the 4,000 block of may wood street just before 1:00 a.m. police tell us the victim was shot multiple times. he was last listed in critical condition. so far police have no leads on a suspect. >> this morning authorities continue their search for answers after a six a year old woman was found shot multiple times in west philadelphia. police found winnie harris dead in a second floor bedroom of her home on the 300 block of north holly street friday night. harris was the executive director at uc green, non- profit that plants trees and cleans up the community. became wore whid harris didn't show up for a meeting. >> i called the police, because usually we sit at the

meeting together, one thursday , first thursday, i didn't get an answer, called -- >> so far no word on suspect or motive of course if you have any information philadelphia police want to hear from you. >> police say they've arrested the man who assaulted and killed a new york city jogger six months after the murder. twenty year old channel lewis accused of murdering 30 year old core even a, detective questioned lewis at his east new york brooklyn home thursday. police say lewis admitted raping and strangling the howard b beach jogger back in august. officers arrested him saturday her parent were fuming after seeing the murder suspect in court last night. >> not going to say it is a good day, but at least we can move forward now. >> there is no happiness. but we are grateful to the new york city police department. >> her father found her body less than a mile from their home and vowed to never give

eyewitness weather watchers, we take you back in time here, take a look at couple of sunrise and set pictures that came in from yesterday. >> this one from ed connor, see the clouds still out there did manage to break with time throughout the second half of yesterday. then sut -- sunset at cooper river park from lynn, again, few more clouds had built in by that point. next we go back out to the area map. finding temperatures for the most part at this hour into the mid, upper 30's, couple of 20's to report here. we zero in or on one or two, in fact, 29 degrees, under clear sky middletown delaware. that's where jason is reporting. he has very minor 5-mile per hour wind right now. expecting that we are going to warm up into the upper 40's later today. so with the help of sunshine, jason, we will braining out of the 20's no problem. we go to one more back toward chester county where frank is reporting nice clear sky as well, virtually no wind at all let's go back to the maps here looking at the nationwide zoom , you know, there is no real organized storm system to

point out at this point. a loft times we had something over the central planes, showing a lot of good organization, and development. not this time. you have got a streak of snow, that's across the canadian border, little batch of rain and storms across the deep south. eventually all will come together on form storm system thmplet isn't the most classic formation of a storm we've ever seen. we end up on the warm side of the storm, too, so while up in the mountains, carbon, monroe, freezing rain advisory tomorrow from 1:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. the rest of us, just rain. now, it is mainly very, very isolated, little patches of rain though that will be coming through early tomorrow morning. see steadier batch come in i would say by midday. behind that lingering shower, that morning, wednesday, then wednesday night into thursday, little disturbance that looks like it might try to intensify as it bypasses us, as temperatures crash, 30 at best , may see wintery mixing every snow, sleet, rainout of

that. stay tuned, meantime today is quiet. tomorrow umbrella required. >> yes, really mixed bag this week. katie, thank you so much. good morning, happy monday. looking in new jersey right now. first look in new jersey, creek road, 295, this is basically what you are looking a. you are still traveling posted speeds. but i have to tell you you will start to very down sometimes, too, into the 6:00 hour. heads up just walking out the door there. we still have this disabling vehicle on the blue route southbound approaching the schuylkill. it is pulled all the way off to the right shoulder, you can see passing by this, starting to slow down, tap your brakes. see the flashing lights, check out what's going on, just starting to get more vehicles on the roadway, so it will start to slow you down little bit. headed out on the blue route, something to think b also if you have not heard, over the weekends, cracks on two rail cars. because of that, we now have a car shortage. thirty to 40 cars shortage, over-crowding, you can expect that, delays during the peak hours. clearly, no a and b stop
