"eyewitness news" reporter joe holden did dig to go see how much coverage that particular attack received, joe what did you find out. >> reporter: we did a fact check and pulled number of our coverage. shooting of jesse hartnett was among biggest stories of 2016. now i spoke to officer hartnett about this last night and he said that he wasn't aware of the list, he said he could not comment because it is case that is still pending trial. the radio calls go out, a philadelphia police officer is down. officer jesse hartnett is shot three times in the front seat of his squad car. and the act prosecutors say was committed by edward archer in the name of islam. it was labeled terrorism. >> new tea tails about the gun man. >> reporter: headlines, and banners flashed across the news. "cbs evening news" ran story of the officer ambush. >> police say shooter confessed to the crime. >> reporter: coverage here at cbs-3 dominated news cycles for days and days.

and president trump on monday accused reporters of ignoring and under covering 78 acts of terrorism. the shooting of philadelphia's officer hartnett was on the list. >> his face looks familiar. >> reporter: with the picture of officer hartnett we went out and using memories. they claim natalie media ignored this attack. >> okay. >> reporter: would you agree with that claim or do you think you have seen that on the news. >> i have seen that on the news, and, i do know that donald trump is a little extreme in his positions. >> newscast, said that he was shot, while sitting in the patrol car. >> reporter: correct, but once we revealed why we were asking about this case, answers seemed to change. >> and the trump administration claims that the media ignored reporting on these incidents. >> i agree with him. >> reporter: do you think that is so. >> yes. >> reporter: we searched our archives and here's what we found in all of 2016, there were 243 news reports on this shooting of officer jesse

hartnett. in january of 2016 alone, there were 166, in fact, station archives show in the week following the shooting, stories, ran around the clock. >> officer hartnett shooting dominated the news for a whole week and then we reported on 243 times last year, and that might not exactly be true natalie media? >> unaudible. >> trump administration made a case for explaining why the list was released. >> many of them have not gotten the attention we deserve. it is too often we are seeing these attacks not get spectacular attention that they deserve. >> reporter: now to reaction to politicians, senator toomey was silent on this, spokeswoman said he would not be commenting. senator casey sent this statement and i quote it is a bizarre statement by the president, and instead of being the nation's media critic in chief, president trump should focus on keeping america safe. spokesmen for mayor kenney telling me lack of truth in

at 6:30. a wild weather ride is in store for our area, from 60's, to snow, and that change is going to happen overnight. meteorologist kate bilo tracking it all on the cbs-3 weather center, kate. >> reporter: it ace very noticeable change as temperatures plumet, this is tomorrow night into thursday morning, not tonight, tonight we will feel those temperatures really start to rise and it is happening right now as warm front lifts across the northeast, rain there earlier lifted out of the area we can see a few showers in western pennsylvania, these are mainly drifting to the north, could pick one up overnight but mostly not seeing much more in the way of precipitation overnight, but we will feel those temperatures, rise, and we could be challenging record highs tomorrow. as you can see not a whole lot going on, it is quiet, heaviest of the rain as predict was late morning in the early afternoon, and that has lifted out. you can see that warm trent is , and there is a huge temperature gradient across the area, it is right about here. do you see this line where wind are from the south, of that line from the northeast

a new museum is heading to the garden state, music history will come to life at new grammy museum experience, plan for part of the prudential center arena in newark. it will be first grammy museum built on the east coast joining locations in los angeles, mississippi, and nashville. it will also include a section devoted to iconic new jersey artists, it is expected to open up in the fall. and don't forget, the 59th annual grammy award with host james corden are happening, sunday, at 8:00 p.m., right here on cbs-3. >> great show, great show. >> children getting back to the community, today members of the philadelphia boys choir donated thousands of dollars to help homeless veterans. >> wearing their signature red jackets boys also put on red hard hats to make a very special presentation. >> ♪ >> reporter: sweet voices of the philadelphia boys choir

their concerts are a holiday thattition, and today, these talented young men are giving back. >> we are proud, and privileged, to offer this check of $2,500 to help u.s.a. >> reporter: choir members stopped by former syringe garden school this afternoon to donate a portion of the holiday ticket sales to the organization, help u.s.a. which helps homeless find affordable housing. >> we were exited to hear about the project in our neighborhood and great way to give back to the community. >> reporter: after check lookings the boys toured building for a first hand look at construction, money will help the philadelphia housing authority convert the former school into 37 affordable housing units, for low this being seniors, 12 of the units will go to homeless veterans. building has been vacant for decade and now will serve as a home. >> reporter: help u.s.a. say it will be renovated and ready for residents about september, we were the in the philadelphia boys choir, a

it. we are warmth for now, warm front lifting through region this evening and we will still cause temperatures to rise through 50's overnight and in the 60's for most of us tomorrow. we will pick up scattered showers behind this storm, we will get a push of arctic air, that arctic air push will coincide with this next system this little system you see right here moving by to the south. we always say what you need for storms, fresh cold, and a lifting mechanism like a storm with a lot the of moisture. we have all ingredients and they will come together tomorrow night, into thursday morning. now, if it were colder this would be an even bigger storm but temperatures are so warm at on set we will see road respond well at first, so it will not be quite as much and it is a heavy wet snow as oppose to that light fluffy snow that piles up faster. future radar at noon you can see 62 degrees in philadelphia we may tie that record of 63, 63 in millville. sixty-four atlantic city at noon tomorrow.
