katie. it will be a busy morning. when it is busy the morning goes by fairly quickly but pack your patients, tomorrow, leave early, and drive very safe. we will be here all morning long. right now looking at our morning commute we are talking about those wet roadways that will be drying out, sometime fairly quickly but we are not the without incident. we have an accident here schuylkill westbound past south street. it is on ramp from south street, holding on than to that median section. it will slow you down as you tap your brakes coming by this more vehicles that get out there this can start to pose a problem for you but right now this is what you are looking at. okay on the schuylkill. this is where i'm keeping my eye. still traveling at posted speed. just slowing down a little will bit. then heads up patco running a special scheduled eastbound starting this morning at 9:32 a.m. until 1:44 p.m. and reminder market frankford line as well, nearly 100 cars are out of service. we know this information by now but just another reminder, to factor that into your morning plans and also construction still out there

on the pennsylvania turnpike westbound between bensalem and willow grove, two lanes still block. jim and rahel, back over to you. thanks, meisha. search is on for suspects wanted in connection with the wrasse even robbery spree. >> "eyewitness news" reporter trang do is live with police headquarters with the latest on the surveillance video and it shows apparently what the business owner fighting back, trang. >> reporter: those robbers did not the know this business owner was armed and he was able to shoot and injure one of the suspects now in police custody. the other man police say is responsible, for robberies across west and southwest philadelphia. >> i know this is a robbery. >> reporter: in 30 years of business in cobbs creek, john zang had never been robbed until january the 29th when two armed masked men, entered the eagles corner chinese take out at 62nd and spruce through a rear door. surveillance video shows one of the men holding him at gunpoint. >> there is a man, i feel someone very close to me.

>> reporter: after grabbing cash from the register the men ran off but not before he was able to fire a few shots with his own weapon hitting one of them. >> i grabbed the gun, you know , so i tried to protect the family, you know, i did shoot. >> reporter: officers arrested the suspect after he got medical treatment at a local hospital but lieutenant john walker says natalie crime spree did not end there. >> even after his co-defendant was shot two days later he find another male to do robberies with. >> reporter: other man went on to rob two more stores with his new accomplice even as several customers shopped inside the tiny vine street deli on north simpson street. >> we have had a shoot-out occur. it is dangerous. they are entering these businesses. people in the store shopping. most of these owners thousand do carry guns in their businesses. it can getting youly real quick. >> reporter: investigators say the man they are looking for is from the area of 65th and haverford, if you recognize him or that other man in the surveillance video we are asked to contact the southwest

detectives. but for now we are live, i'm trang do for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". jim and rahel, back to you. well, 29 year-old derrick dabany makes his first court appearance. dabany faces murder charges this is stabbing death of his grandmother during an argument inside of her southwest philadelphia home last month. zero seven year-old geraldine mccoy's body was discovered by her daughter who is dabany's hotter. she told police she saw her son leaving the scene of the murder. a bizarre accident was a clothing donation van leaves a pennsylvania woman dead. jidith parmar of mount carmel was standing on the steps to put clothes in the donation bin when the step stool collapsed. her arm got trapped and she was stuck there for several hours, saturday night into sunday. >> it is a horrible way to die getting stuck like that. i guess she broke her arm. >> just standing there, knowing that it is just a person across the street could turn a light on and help you. >> coroner said she died from

blunt force trauma and hypotheria. president trump's immigration and travel ban remains in limbo as federal appeals court in san francisco considers whether or not to reinstate it. now, after hearing arguments there both side hena daniels tells us the court is working to get a decision out rather quickly. >> reporter: hour long hearing , conduct by phone, in a san francisco appeals court is the most significant legal battle will yet over president trump's travel ban. >> president's determination that the 90 day pause was needed was constitutional. >> reporter: three judge panel peppered attorney for department of justice with questions as he pressed to have order barring refugees and citizens, of seven majority muslim countries reinstated, at one point, the judges asked for more evidence >> there have been a number of people from somalia connected to al-shabob who have been convicted in the united states >> is that in the record, can you point us to where in the

louisiana picking up pieces after several tornadoes touched down in the southeastern part of the state

>> this is video from instagram that shows tornado sweeping right through ninth ward of new orleans, that is same area that took a direct hit there katrina back in 2005 yesterday's twisters left more than a dozen people hurt, one survivor said she hid in her bathtub when she heard the powerful wind. >> that is when the roof went flying and you could see everything just, caved in. i'm like, it was like business air of oz at the moment but it is real. i'm just grateful that i'm good. things could be so much worse. >> and she was just one of the many homes just destroyed by tornadoes. storm damage near mobile alabama national weather service will be in that area to determine if a tornado caused all of the damage have the lightening strike is also, responsible for setting a barn on fire, on tuesday afternoon. and, check out this, thinks view from space that shows just how large storm system was as it moved across the southeastern parts of the state, yesterday, southeastern states, country yesterday.

>> boy, this weather is all over the place, katie. >> is there always weather. >> down south, california. >> it is crazy. >> mother nature. >> always something whacky somewhere around the world, right. but we have had our fair share of craziness especially on the west coast. here locally, this is actually the storm system that will be affecting us tomorrow. it is currently making its act together there nebraska out to illinois, and it is mainly a snow producer at the moment. by the time it reaches us it will be grabbing cold air funneling this. stars are really aligning here , and that is why you can go from 60's one day, and to drop off so drastically on the thermometer and see kind of snow we're talking about here from one day to the next. it seems crazy, extreme but it is definitely possible. it looks like again, well, it depend, best or worst case scenario, is in fact going to play out. we have got winter storm warnings not just yet but as of midnight tonight until 4:00 g window for this winter storm

warning to be in effect, that all that hot pink shaded area will be under that winter storm warning. we are getting a jackpot here when it comes to the the snowfall because we expect that there will be heavy band of snow that comes through and when we get heavier bands it could be falling 1 inch of snow per hour at some point. now, we start off at midnight, at that point temperatures will be beginning to drop off, we are probably already in the 30's in quite a few spots. we will keep those lower 30's as things are getting underway heaviest snowfall will come between hours of five and ten. notice we have mixing in the southern most counties so snowfall expectations are lower there but eventually with time, say after lunchtime the snow will be wrapping ethel self up. things clear out. that is when we have possibility of retreesing late their night. whole take does get impacted but the heaviest of the snowstorm is coming as we are 's on the air in fact this same time tomorrow. the here's our eyewitness weather snowfall map, four to 8 inches the spectation from i-95 on north and extending

items will be loaded in the truck later this morning. good morning, pat. >> reporter: good morning, guys. huge day, for the philadelphia phillies, and it is as katie fehlinger mentioned four to 8 inches of snow coming tomorrow. don't worry about that. it is heading to clear the water. truck do you at citizens bank park. at 8:00 a.m. they will load this stuff up, it is a lot. we have bats here, we have polos, pants, socks, don't look at that, that is jogging straps. we have all of the luggage, that is heading down to clearwater, coaches, layers, we have luggage here, we have boxes for each player that are heading down. we've got someone plays guitar , general manager matt klentak plays guitar. that is cool. perhaps most importantly for layers and coaches are the golf clubs, very important because it is 75, 80 degrees. you are done. the cant knock that over. when you are done you want to get out on the golf course. these are important.

also more stuff coming through phillies clubhouse. shore pants. more boxes. more stuff. all this is heading down. yesterday, we got a chance to much contact up with dan o'rourke, the phillies guru when it comes to all this stuff. he mentioned all of the crazy things that are heading to florida. >> every red hell heat will be down, every batting practice top, every heavy jacket, every light jacket, hat, socks, underwear, joggings, t-shirts, sleeves, sweat shirts, hoodies , it is all accounted for and basically pick up the clubhouse here in philadelphia and drop it in clearwater. >> so, the list of things is long, and there are many baseballs, 2400 baseballs, heading to clearwater. we have about 1200 bats going. 600 batting practice hats. we have the jackets. we have the batting gloves. as i mentioned 25 sets of golf

clubs which do come in handy and how about 12,000, 12-ounce power aid cups and maybe most importantly aside from the golf clubs we have one hot talk launcher for phillies fanatic. so when you are town in clearwater if you have been to the game they ship that thing down as well, and if you have ever been it is an amazing time in clearwater. always warm, fun, friendly to be in the ballpark. this is all of the stuff, jim and rahel, heading to clearwater. they will pack this thing up. it will take three hours. they will get truck out of here before the snow comes and 77 degrees today as the high temperature in clearwater. >> i'm just saying, bosses, if the the bosses are listening, if the bosses are listening i would like to go down this year. >> we can do the show from down there, we can do that our news director just had a heart attack. >> thanks, path the path -- pat. president obama is steering clear of the snow it weather. he hees enjoying water sports.

all right, katie, thank you. now for a look at newspaper headlines across our region. >> from the delaware county daily times hundreds are participating in weekly protests outside of senator pat toomey's state offices. yesterday, tuesday's with toomey protest, focused on the senator's yes vote to confirm secretary of education nominee betsy devos. over the years, toomey has received over $60,000, in political contributions, from the devos family. and, burlington county times new jersey state senator dianne allen is proposing legislation that will require the state's department of education to include, chronic absenteeism rates on school reports. reports include enrollment demographics, standardized test scores and class size. governor tom wolf wants to give state workers under his jurisdiction the option of early retirement to scale downstate work force. he is proposing a program that will offer early retirement incentives to workers within five years of being eligible to retire. >> that is a look at newspaper

we had an accident cleared 95 north near 452. it has been since cleared but just a heads up, for those in and around this area, we are starting to see, slow downs here, a little bit but really in the past couple of minutes, we have had just a string of accidents pop up in our maps. heads up on this follow along here one in darby here chester pike, near pine street for those in and around that area just know you have an accident there, you have an another one here at easton road and mill road in willow grove. that is also, still out there right now and then again, a lot of these accident literally just popped up, four in a row, within would i say a couple minutes. another one here main street at colonial avenue this is letting us know that these wet roadways they will cause us some problems, we're seeing that right now at 6:30 in the morning. the pottstown hanover street at, the circle, those are four accidents all within five minutes, so take it easy out there leave your homes early. jan, back over to you. philadelphia police say suspects in the robbery vee are becoming more bold as they

hold up area businesses. john zang for the back when his store on 62nd and spruce was held on january 29th. he had a gun and shot a suspect who later showed up at the hospital. that suspect was arrested but another suspect got a waste and police say he continued his robbery spree, with a new partner in crime. >> my biggest concern is from january 27th, up to february 2nd during an eight day period this male struck four times every two days, he cost hitting businesses. >> this was another robbery at the vine street deli, that is on north simpson street, police say these robberies are more brazen because they are happening, right in front of the customers. newlywed are missing their wedding gifts after a center city bridal shop closes without a sound. victoria lynch registered with manor home and gifts, after returning from her honeymoon she found a store of clothes. she never received her gifts. she's not the only one still looking for answers.
