5:33 am
thankfully not. but go up toward the poconos, mount pocono, west northwest wind still cranking at 20 miles per hour, feels like it is sub zero right now. twenty-three the current temperature at the airport. that's harsh enough, even with the more modest westerly wind flow, it really does feel quite harsh outside. so here's where we currently stand. guys the values i want you to go by, walking out the door, so plan to bundle up, so it is into the single digits, or into the teens at best, that's what it feels like, and this can be much better any time the wind blows in winter right? looking ahead to the rest of the day, not bad. i think you'll see more sunshine through the daylight hours, the clouds are eventually going to be building back in, since we do have little disturbance that's going to cross through. meisha, that might even lead to couple of snowflakes up in the mountains, but generally speaking quiet pattern that is unfolding for our region. and i can actually report little warming trends that waits in the wings, too, let you know when that gets here little later. >> katie, that sound great. i don't if he about you, but

5:45 am
>> very much so. james is terrific. you know, he loves music. he's got great musical background, he won a tony, posted it to tony, carpool karaoke has become one of the most popular segment ever on the internet. and, you know, he gets it. he knows that his job here is to casino every take us through the show, but it is not his show. it is not the james cords on show. it is not the late late show with james cord on, but on the other hand, it is his personality that will drive t so we're real excited about having him as the host this year. >> and of course, you can see the 59th annual grammy awards this sunday night, at 8:00 right here on cbs-3. >> ken's been producing the show since the 80s. >> oh, wow. >> got graying background. >> absolutely. >> sounds like a good show. >> it will be cold but stay inside. >> you'll want to snuggle up with a blanket and cup of cocoa to enjoy the grammys. who are we kidding? we will totally have to dvr
5:46 am
this, always in bed at this time, but it will be fantastic show. we will all be watching it i think the next morning, but regardless, we've got certainly a show to talk about out there this morning. we start thing off here with a view on storm scan3, and we do have nice clearing sky for you at the moment. and we're going to continue to see some sun always initially across the delaware valley. but with time the clouds will start to build. and as they do start to build, we are actually getting milder air working its way in, that will be helpful. meanwhile we take one more zoom for you. we'll get to that zoom in a second. checking with eyewitness weather watch ers, currently upper teens, low 20's, more after list format, sometimes little easier to sort of consume the information here. but low 20's essentially what we're finding, there are again some colder outlying places into the teens, but basically the story, not better than. >> this barbara at 20 at willow grove, and as well as
5:47 am
chesterfield, and 22 in cherry hill. sending these in, what's left of this, looks like couple of bird went across the field here looking closely, few footprint on the car windshield. yes, pretty much all that had been left behind from yesterday's storm system. let's go back again, want to take to you that map one more time. we zoom it out. there you go. trigger button didn't go quickly enough last time. do have little hint every snow working it way through the great lakesment some of this is actually going to start just past the poconos, could ends up bringing quick snow shower later to that air. that would be it. otherwise generally in the clear, until we get to sunday. but meantime, do keep in mind that this is obviously a very frigid morning. so anything that's left behind from yesterday it is frozen solid at this point. some instances if it is a little pile of snow, it is like a chunk of ice, at this point. wind though from yesterday, real did i help dry out the roads. so if it was treated and certainly major roadway, all of the traffic had been passing through, it is very likely pretty good.
5:48 am
obviously going to have much more on that. here is the warming trend i promise you. flirt with or actually hit 50 degrees over the weekend. watch for some rain showers sunday. may be bit of sleet that mixes in in the poconos. generally just rain showers. then modest cooling trends as we look ahead to monday. and valentine day on tuesday, for now, looks like it will be a sunny forecast, meisha? >> yes, sure looks that way. all right, katie, thank you so much. yes, we are seeing some slick roadways this morning, as kate had i pointed out. first pull your attention to this accident. it is the ramp from the westbound vine to westbound skunk, the ramp blocked right there. as you drive past this, really just gettingly gaper delay. really the backups that we are sorting build here as you jump on to the vine moving in the westbound direction. so heads up on that. back upstart to go form, getting little slow. but right when you pass where the accident is, it is no problem whatsoever. so again, vine westbound, jump out there, you will be traveling very slow there. and we have another accident here, that just popped up. lafayette hill, ridge pike, at
5:49 am
church reached still traveling posted speeds in that area. again, we're seeing a lot of accident around this area. really starting to slow a lot of people down. we have serious accident happened last night, warrington by the way overturned tanker truck with injuries, easton road, 61; between brit toll road and street road. you will have to use an alternate, york road or 309 is your best bet. by the way there is pretty big fuel spill around this. so, i would just caution, avoid the area if at all possible, but if you cannot avoid the area, you will have to use these alternates, and probably start to slow down around this area little bit, as well. plus, tree branches blocking stump road steeple chase drive, one southbound lane is still block here. plus we have a loft construction to talk about coming up in a little bit. jim, rahel, back over to you. >> thank you shall meisha. next month, cbs drama blue blood, will reach major television milestone. 150 episodes. >> "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo on the set, actually just this past wednesday, sat with the cast
