school road at cross keys road and not causing any significant delays so be ready to navigate around that. >> sorry about that we are having some technical difficulties with amanda there we will get back to her later this morning. new this morning a man has been shot outside his home in philadelphia's belfield neighborhood. police say 40 year-old man was shot several times on north 19th street near chew avenue around 2:30 this morning and he is in critical condition, so far no suspects. well, with the weather now getting warmer, following thursday's snowstorm, ice falling from a philadelphia sky scraper sent people running for cover. that is where we will fine "eyewitness news" reporter anita oh, good morning. >> reporter: good morning, jan not the most exciting walk through center city yesterday, street is opened now to both traffic and pedestrian but that was not the case for several hours yesterday. you can see officials have put a sign warning pedestrians of the potential for falling ice and in the past 10 minutes we

did see a big chunk actually falling in the middle of the street. it didn't hit any cars though. we want to show you cell phone video that shows ice falling around loews hotel here in center city yesterday. it prompted philadelphia authorities to close a portion of market street between 12th and 13th street around 2:00 yesterday afternoon and they tell "eyewitness news" that the ice chunks were the size of car hoods. >> people were just running every where and telling pedestrian to take cover natalie isis falling off the road. >> anybody could have got hit. we have elderly people down here walking around. >> craze that i something like that could happen. >> we have to worry about the cars hitting you but you have to worry about the ice falling >> reporter: another live look here in center city, at that caution sign warning pedestrians and cars, of think potential of falling ice, we do know that a smaller chunk did hit one police cruiser but thankfully in injuries. also market street between 12th and 13th street did

reopen, several hours later and it remains opened now. for now live, anita oh for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". loved ones will gather for funeral of the delaware correctional officer killed in the line of duty. family friend of the lieutenant steven floyd gathered on the campus of delaware state university for a viewing, there will be a viewing this morning followed by funeral services at noon. lieutenant floyd was killed last week during a prison standoff in smyrna, on tuesday , delaware governor john carney will announce his selection to lead an independent investigation into the standoff. there is in word this morning on funeral plans for chairman of the boscovs department stores. albert boscovs died yesterday after pancreatic cancer. he took the reigns of the family business that his father started in reading in 1914 and grew the company to sales in excess of $1 billion. albert boscovs was 87 years old. well, philadelphia district attorney seth williams will in the run for a third term.

despite earlier incident that i mentioned most majors are cleared this morning. in the cbs-3 traffic center i'm amanda muhler you this back to you. thank you. police arrived just in the nick of time near orlando, officers pull a driver to safety seconds before his vehicle will explodes and it was all caught on camera. driver flipped his car several times on the deadened street, police say he was speeding, right now driver is in serious condition, and no officers were injured, during the rescue. another remarkable rescue in australia now, that man survived several hours trapped under an excavator in a watery pit. daniel miller was running beside a dam when it gave way and opinion underneath the truck. he had to arch his back to keep his nose just above water neighbor eventually heard his calls for help and police rescued him. miller was treated for hypotheria and minor back injuries. three days after a high wire accident the show went on , hundreds watched last night's show, circus sarasota in florida, first performance

temperature, outside, this time yesterday morning, it was cold but look at that 9 degrees warmer in philadelphia, compared to 24 hours ago. sixteen in millville. seventeen in wildwood and dover delaware. here's what to second partly to mostly cloudy skies today with milder temperatures, again, if you have snow on the ground you will get colder so no chance of really reaching 50 to the north of the city but 50 degrees for philadelphia, tomorrow different story some rain returns, temperatures in the 40's. quiet the though across mid-atlantic, and new england for the most part. we have left over snow showers across northern my that will have move off shore. we will see our next system which has not developed yet across the area of the country and that moves in the region tomorrow. so around day break some areas start to he sees rain. rain will be heaviest during sunday afternoon, overall, rainfall amounts about a quarter inch, up to half inch in some spots to the north of the city. temperatures in the the 40's, it is the exception, it will be up in the poconos, so keep an eye on these numbers. today though quiet, cloud, little bit of sunshine

bridges including burlington bristol bridge and scudder falls. taking a live look at i-95 at columbus boulevard running smoothly as well as your majors this morning. cbs traffic center, i'm amanda muhler now back to you. >> amanda, thanks very much. family and friend are preparing to attend a funeral for a delaware correctional officer killed during a prison standoff. lieutenant steven floyd died last week during an inmate uprighting at james vaughn correctional center in smyrna. is there a viewing this morning at delaware state university's memorial hall in dover, the funeral will follow at noon time. authorities in cumberland county are investigating a police involved shooting that left one man dead, this happened yesterday afternoon, near north freemont and south avenue in bridgeton. the county prosecutor's office says natalie officer shot the man after a foot the chase, police found a gun near the victim they are not saying why police were chasing him or if he fired at them. well, cold weather is leading to a spike in stolen cars right here in

philadelphia but police say car owners are pretty much handing over the keys to the thieves.
