>> now for february 15, 2017, this is "entertainment tonight." harrison ford's piloting skills called into question. why did he fly his plane right over a jumbo jet as he failed to land on the runway as instructed? >> the faa wants answers and they will interview the actor after his latest flying mishap. etonline is at the airplane where it happened. >> if you yent a movie tar, what would you be doing? >> i might be flying for a living. >> "e.t." has confirmed harrison ford was actually recertified to fly just two weeks before monday's close call, and now we're learning more about the time line of the incident. so ford did a preflight check on his a-1c at santa monica airport. that preflight check lasted 30 to 40 minutes and an eyewitness tells "e.t." that harrison took off right after lunch time. when the actor landed here at orange county's john wayne airport, he mistakenly landed a parallel taxiway and passed over a boeing 737 which was carrying

110 passengers and six crew members. after ford's plane passed the 737 he reportedly asked quote, was that airliner meant to be underneath me? so the question is, could the 74-year-old actor lose his pilot's license? we spoke today with aviation expert captain ross aimer. >> i'm pretty sure the faa will go after his license. he will have to get a very good lawyer, get experts to testify that he obviously he didn't do this maliciously. the history will come up, i'm pretty sure, into hearings. >> when ford's vintage fighter plane malfunctioned in 2015, he was forced to crash land at a golf course. in 2000, he had to make an emergency landing in lincoln, nebraska. >> looks like we're losing fuel! >> of course, ford is better known for his heroic flying skills in movies. >> mayday, mayday! >> the actor is also a collector
