bar and then robbed him. investigators say man wearing a hooded sweatshirt walked into the bar at 23rd and indianna. got into a struggle with the manager then shot him. the manager died a short time later, police say, the gunman also took about 150, excuse me, $175 from the bar, then took the victim's car keys, and wallet. >> well, developing now, philadelphia police are trying to track down the driver who dragged an officer 500 feet. >> it happened after the officer pulled him over in east germantown, "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo live at the 35th district. good morning, jan. >> late last night they had a helicopter over the scene looking for vehicle and the driver. the vehicle registered to person known to police with arrests in the past. how much, this morning, both the suspected vehicle, and that driver, are still at large. so police do need your help tracking down the person responsible. meantime, as you take a look at the video, fortunately, this morning, the officer who

was injured is rovering, taken to einstein hospital after police say he was dragged about 500 feet. frightening scenario unfolded at 20th and spencer street, east germantown, around 10:30 last night. two uniform officers with the 35th district pug over car f erratic drivers, the driver rolled down the window, police smelled and saw what appeared to be marijuana. ordered the driver to pull over the vehicle, take out the keeps, police say the suspect refused. when the officer reached inside to take the keys himself that's when the driver took off dragging the officer 500 feet, at the intersection of 20th and god free. >> while dragging the police office here was hanging onto the open door window of the vehicle, the suspect started swerving the vehicle, left and right, in order to shake the officer off of the vehicle. >> now, police are still

searching for that car this morning. it is described as a silver 2005 pontiac grand prix, opinions license plates jlx-9786. the car is registered to a home 2 miles from where it all happened. when the driver is caught, he'll face number of serious charges, including aggravated assault, resisting arrest, and wreckless endanger: as for the officer, he's 28 years old, a three year veteran of the police force, he had number of scrapes and bruises to his head. his hands and his knees. fortunately he was walking and talking at the scene and in stable condition this morning. we're going to continue to follow this story. for now, we're live outside the 35th police district, jan carabeo, cbs-3, "eyewitness news," jim, rahel, back into you. >> jan, thank you. the ends of era greatest show onsetter coming to a close, ringling brothers and barnum bailey circus kick off final philly tour last night. animal activists held up signs, as protesters voiced their opposition to the show. eleven performances are scheduled for the city of

it was a close call in phoenix arizona as two planes clipped wings. front ear jet on it way to denver, was pushing back from the gate whether it collide wad southwest airlines jet that had just lands add few moments ago. it happened on the tarmac around 8:00 last night. the crash caused a fuel leak in one of the planes, but fortunately, no one was hurt. well the feds have foiled a plot to bomb target stores

along the east coast. investigators say mark arnet paid a man $10,000 to put bombs on shelves in several target stores from north, there go, from new york to florida. the man tipped authorities instead, agents believe barnett wanted company stock to tumble then would buy it after it dropped and cash it in after the price went back up. >> i think his motive was financial. the fact that he wanted to go to that extreme raised our attention. using thos devices in that manner could have potentially been very catostrophic. >> if convicted barnett could get ten years in prison. he was already on probation as a convicted sex offender. well, a man survives after his car dice, nose first, into creek in washington state, richard ledgerwood driving to work in the pitch black yesterday morning, and as he passed this section of the road, it collapsed beneath him, his car plowed into the water. he was able to climb to safety through the driver side window.

wednesday, meisha. so if you are a fan of the warmth, it is a good looking forecast. >> yes, looks beautiful. all right, katie, thank you so much. i think that's something that we can all be excited about. looking outside right now, we can be excited about 95, southbound direction, looking good, looking quiet there. one area that's not looking too good, though, is serious accident in mt. laurel with injuries. new jersey turnpike, southbound before route 73, all lanes are blocked right now. you will have to use an alternate. 295 is going to be your best bet. big. it will is tweeting this morning what in the world is going on? there are a lot of flashing lights, a ton of gaper delays and backups here. if you can avoid the area at all costs i would do so. i wouldn't even head in that direction, or use that alternate, if you have to go out there you will have to use that alternate. even that alternate is going to get very slow. so overall you guys, avoid the area. we also have another accident this morning on the boulevard. roosevelt boulevard
