goldfish, maybe not the goal fish, can't take those for a walk, but make an excuse, right? even if it means you're just diagnose to take a walk around the block, it will be worth it, because it is so comfortable outside. you will have the extra boost of energy, and it is a little damp, feeling outside. in other words, feels more humid right now. but i haven't seen the kind of fog issues, like we had this same time yesterday. in fact, yesterday, behind me, on the skydeck, we couldn't even make out the skyline let alone the skyscrapers. so yes. it is definitely much clearer start to the day. if the winds is light enough, if we keep the moisture in place which we likely will, could see few patches of fog. again, haven't seen it anywhere near what we saw yesterday let alone much problem at all. storm scan, nice and quiet. high clouds rolling through southeastern pa. today is another day featuring may like warmth with the highs topping off into the low 70s, reminder, normal high, about 46, 47 degrees. so far cry from where we should be with some sunshine along the way also light southwest breeze. now, by tomorrow, this is
5:33 am
something that's going to start to get wiped away, as we've got pretty potent cold front passage waiting in the wings but for today great excuse to be outside. low 70s we mention, should hit about 72, come 2:00 p.m., 3:00 w storm system, more specifically frontal passage that takes place tomorrow to lends itself to much cooler a by sunday, with another storm next week, yet another warm up remains very active pattern. meisha? >> all right, katie. thank you so much. and we are looking outside right now. what are we talking about? well, talking about this disable tractor-trailer, germantown pike near 202 right now. both directions are shutdown right now. they are closed, you can see, right there, kind of barricade with the cop out there. what they are doing directing traffic through parking lot. so heads up on this there is isn't posing too many problems right now, but it absolutely could coming up, i would say, breaking into the 6:00 hour if that's still out there. so alternate, twp. line road probably going to be good one to use, i wouldn't mess with this, as we progress through the morning, that area is going to get busy.
5:34 am
so again that's germantown pike, closed, both directions, near 202, alternate twp. line road probably be your best bet around then. then quick look at the 42 northbound jersey approaching 295. what you are looking at there. i would say that you are starting to heat up little bit this morning for a friday. i would say that we started little bit earlier than what we typically see. heads up walking out the door this morning. we did also have an accident that's now since been cleared in royersford, main street at north third avenue. looking great there. so no wore thinks whatsoever. jim, rahel, back to you. >> thank you, meisha. updating breaking news, a two alarm fire ravages a hotel in south jersey. >> firefighters arrived at the ramada inn to find people hanging from windows. 5:35 am

5:36 am
>> they were hanging out the window, throwing belongings out the window, initial arriving crews through ground ladders to the second floor window and helped, helped them over, and down to the grounds. >> about two minute, went to the store, came back, flames coming from above our room, everything gone, everything burnt, everything i own is in there. >> so that was candies martinez, staying at the ramada inn, unfortunately, she said she lost everything she owns. but she does have her life this morning. now the people who were staying here this morning are at neighboring hotels. meanwhile live on the scene as you can see firefighters remain here treating hot spots. they're also looking for the cause of this fire. they tell us it started in a second floor unit, where that woman was able to get out after suffering smoke inhalation and burns. now, the person who stays here, ms. martinez, she said
5:37 am
there are actually smoking rooms on the back side of this building where the fire started. the fire chief could not comment on that. he merely said that this fire is under investigation this morning. co-also not comment whether people inside were hearing the smoke alarm, how much, he does say, that they were first dispatched to this building because of active smoke alarm system. so, a lot to sort out. but we will keep you up-to-date. for now live in vineland, jan carabeo, cbs-3, "eyewitness news," rahel, jim, back to you. >> we'll check back with you soon, thank you. time is 5:37. in business news, dow opening up this morning after a tenth record high close. >> yes, money watch's jill wagner joins us liver from the new york stock exchange, jill, you also have some news about unemployment benefits, as well. good morning. >> reporter: yes, that's right. good morning, jim, rahel. futures right now pointing to little bit after lower open, yesterday the dow tenth records high close in a row, jumped 34 points. the nasdaq lost 25.
5:38 am
more americans applied for unemployment benefit last week, labor department says that number jumped by about 6,000. still, the level points to a very healthy john market. the four week average is actually at it lowest level since 1973. there has been another major data breach impacting about 3400 websites and apps including fit bit, okay, cupid, uber. the bug stems from the cyber security company cloud fair, which provides weber advises to many of these sites. cloud fair says it is possible that user names, passwords, other info made their way on to the open internet. >> how about is too big for smart phone screen? samsung getting extreme with its upcoming galaxy s8 plus. some pictures show the phone could have 6.2 indies play, compared to apple iphone seven plus, which has 5.5-inch screen. so i have that phone. i can barely fit it into my pockets. >> that is a big screen. >> that's huge, jill. why don't we just start walking around with computer monitors to our face?

5:47 am
given to them. they'll have it all. no watching movies today though, get out to the playground. make the excuse. yes, yesterday, we didn't quite hit record. awfully close. take a look, guys, we denned up over achieving, 73 degrees, with yesterday's high record, it was 75, setback in 1874. we didn't quite get there. but it was definitely a warm and very atypical day. that said, i saw a lot of great pictures coming in from the eyewitness weather watchers of all of the activities they were doing yesterday. take you out to just couple of those pictures, phil sent this one in. beautiful blue sky. this is out at miles park. couple of other ones, kids playing on the playgrounds, and we ourselves went it the playgrounds yesterday. spent some time outside. it is great. just so nice, everybody has had so much cabin fever, want to get outside, and everybody doing that yesterday. but also the flowers are starting to pop. out through the mulch, in this case through the grass there is one came in from megan, pretty sure she is out in the richboro area.
5:48 am
meanwhile taking a look at the area temperatures, as they stand right now, you have got some very warm air here. look at this. currently at 58 degrees out in pa. 58 degrees, even still nice clear sky for february 24th, that's crazy. we're up at 49 already up at sailors berg near the pocono mountains, 49 degrees coming in from keith this morning. he is enjoying the warmth. i certainly a.m., too. but it is, you know, very atypical for us to see this kind of warmth at this time of the year. as we skip past, take a look at what storm scan has up it sleeve, at the moment, we've got storm system brewing, very heavy snow, ice, rain, across the great lakes region, what will happen is the bulk of this energy bypasses us to the north. cold front that's going it start to developing. see at least the combination of it. get rid of. that will the combination of that, rolling through, in illinois right now, that will become a larger line that moves in tomorrow. i would say between 4:00 and 8:00 p.m. as a line of very gusty thunderstorms and heavy rain pocket. so if that's your window, that's when you plan to be
5:49 am
outside, maybe wanted to do some grilling, i would try to plan around that here. that looks like it will be go-time. may be spotty shower early on, then behind that cold front, dose of reality really folks. forty-eight, sunshine, notice the breeze, too, then look at this, meisha. just rebounds again back to the 60s by tuesday. >> that's crazy ride. all right, katie, but i'm saying i'm enjoying this part of ride right now. 70s, in february. pretty darn awesome. all right, well, happy friday. this is what we're looking at, disable tractor-trailer no longer there, germantown pike near 202, looking good, quiet, just as you should. but we do have this accident in king of prussia. route 23, river road, third street. that intersection is blocked, just a heads up moving out the door. might start to slow you down just little bit. maybe not right now. but maybe in the next 15 minute or so. and then also in the world every septa, city and suburban transit running new schedules. new schedules for select lines only starting sunday, monday, make sure to check the schedules on line. no change however to the market frankford line. just want to put that out your way, no changes.

5:51 am
