i love farmland, and with the silo in the distance, you always get gorgeous sunrise shots, when warranted here at this particular camera. notice, though, the win also nice and light. you will wands to bunt l up adequately wacking out the door. storm scan showing some signs of life across kent county at this point not finding much in the way of any precipitation, really through midday that any snow showers will fire up. perhaps few raindrops, or even little sleet mixed in, down across some of the south jersey counties, but for the most part this will be a snow shower event with clipper moving through. thirty-three the current temperature here in philly. at 17 up at mount pocono, cold start out there, guys, and with some sun, filtering through the clouds, again eventually there will be some snow showers to track, daytime hyatt best, 40 degrees, i remember the days, couple of winters ago, when that sounded like it was balmy, but it is very chilly from what we are used to as of late. meanwhile we look at the area headlines, wintery weekend wait for us. and eventually we do warm up again, so coming up a little later on i'll let you know when i expect that to climb.

"eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo live on the scene with the latest on the investigation, jan, good morning. >> rahel, jim, good morning, one of those shooting victims was actually a bartender here overnight, who was just trying to break up a fight. chaotic scene right around 2:00 in the morning, crowd of about 20 people was here at the 7165 restaurant anbar having good time, listening to music when the small concert ended, the crowd spilled out into the street.

for some rena argument turned physical, then someone pulled out a gun. four people in all were shot police say the bartender and other employees trying to break up the fight when the bartender was shot, he's in stable condition this morning. now, police were already in the area when they heard the gunshot. they return here to the 7100 block of germantown avenue to find that woman injured and cars racing away from the scene. one of those cars crashed into a pole just about six blocks away from the scene at germantown and upsal. twenty-six year old plan was in the car and taken to the hospital. shot multiple times. now in critical condition. now, while north detective were investigating here at the shooting scene, they got word that two other men, a 25 year old, and 26 year old, also showed up at area hospitals shot. they're both in stable condition this morning. police are now trying to figure out why this all started, what sparked the argument that turned violent, and investigators believe all of the victims and the shooter were inside the bar and restaurant before the gunfire broke out. >> we strongly believe that the shooter, was towelly,

inside the bar restaurant, right before the fight and the shots were fired, and there are cameras inside the bar and restaurant, so likely the individual was shot on camera prior to this incident taking place. >> it is unclear at this point if any of the victims is also the shooter. you heard there they're going to use cameras to sort that all out. meantime they have a lot to process, eight spent shell casings were found here at the scene, at this point, no weapons have been recovered. but police do still need to search several cars. reporting live in mount air think morning, january kariba owe, cbs-3, "eyewitness news," jim, rahel, back to you. >> a lot more questions left to be answered, thank up, jan. >> police have teenager in custody in connection with disturbing chester county home invasion that left elderly homeowner tide up in a closet for four days. police say the 17 year old suspect was originally from thailand, ran away from devereaux east brandywine campus, that's behavioral health facility.

accused of tying up, beating, trying to strangle a 72 year old woman in east brandywine township on february 22. before leaving the woman's home, police say the teen wrapped the victim's head in a plastic bag, tossed her in a storage room, found alive four days later. >> when he was strangling her, when he was choking her out, he said to her, during the course of this attack, you're going to see jesus soon. >> police say the suspect randomly targeted the woman taking her credit cards, even stealing her car in the pros else. detective were later able to link him to surveillance video in a convenience store. >> former hillary clinton staffers are sounding off in wake of accusations of vice president mike pence used his personal e-mail to conduct public business. >> activity happened while pence was indianna governor did not require him to use a public account. read bin john has the store. >> i mike pence's office react to go reports he routinely used private e-mail account while governor of end ann a the star breaking the news as pence communicated when senior

advisors using his aol account discussing topics including homeland security, the star's tony cook spoke to cnn about the e-mail records which the paper obtained through public records request. >> probably the most sensitive thing we did see was some request, and updates, about investigation, and in one case terror investigation. >> pence's personal e-mail account was hacked last summer during presidential campaign in which he was vocal critic of hillary clinton's use of private e-mail account and server. >> why doesn't she go ahead and release all of the 33,000 emails that she did not turn over to the f.b.i., into the congress initially? >> former clinton campaign staffers including her former press secretary, brian fallon, expressing frustration with what they call hypocrisy. >> to learn that vice president himself was now, you know, using the same practice, just another indication of how hypocritical the attacks were against hillary clinton. >> pence's offers stressing his use of the account was legal. >> the have vice president's

>> ♪ >> ♪ >> ♪ >> ♪ >> welcome back. los angeles, a stolen car suspect leads police on a wild car chase overnight. >> after several close calls, the suspect was taken into custody. but take a look, chopper tracked the driver as she sped down the highway at times going more than 100 miles an hour. suspect blue through red light, then went under an overpass, ditching the car, trying to give officers the slip. the jumped several fences, hid in someone's backyard before being captured. >> did you ever think you would get away. >> alabama school bus driver collapsed behind the wheel, obviously could have been tragic situation. high school student on board had other ideas, bus had 38 teens on board.

the bus driver had just had medical emergency, and passed out. that's when high school senior jessie frank saw what was happening and stepped in. >> going crazy, yelling, like, unusual, and i look back at her and she had her head rolled back, and her hands let go of the steering wheel. ya, had to do something. >> oh, glad he did. jesse brought the bus to the curb, and he received the keys to his hometown bell city alabama. bus driver by the way expected to make a full recovery. >> well, katie, heading into the weekend, winter is making a come back? >> it is. you know what? i'm with you, i'm not really a fan of the really cold air, but i will say that if you're a ski lover, this isn't the worse news in the world. now, weaver a system coming in to help reinforce the cold for us, storm scan showing the clipper that's going to be responsible for that. it does not have a lot of moisture, you're snow showers are very, very much scat nerds nature right now. at the moment, we actually have really beautiful sunrise, promised to us, outside we go, oh, there goes, one of our

pocono field cameras right now, showing that they're making snow up at shawnee, and with that said, i do have ski report for you, interesting note here, big boulder, does not have any trails open right now. up at jack frost, though, they've got all 20. so, you know, you don't get both for the price everyone but at least jack frost, camelback, blue mountain, warm air in place, but couple every feet worth. future snow amount, i don't want you to worry about any kind of major accumulation out of this, at worse, we see maybe a dusting on unpaved surfaces, i think more than anything, guys, through the midday, you will see the snow showers, but going to so maybe some poor visibility out of it, at worse, then through the seven day forecast, just stays colds outside through the next couple every days, cold weekend by comparison, one of the coldest we've seen in a while. but take a look at the rebounds, already takes place here on monday into tuesday, mid 50's already by monday, and come tuesday, topping off

can't, jake. good morning. >> how are you doing? >> doing well. >> so take us through a season for you guys, because it seems like every year more and more victories. >> yes. i mean, each season we go in the mindset, new team, new group of swimmers. we can't really let anything crib how we do this season, we have to work for it each year. we always go in around winter break training, so really hard, kind of good place to see wherever one is swimming at, start rebuild little bit. and we have this tradition every excellence where we want to kind of crib to that every year. so, to be able to see everyone get up and perform the younger guys, the younger swimmers get up and really race, real awesome to see. >> you guys need to practice quite a bit to get to that level. how many hours a week are we talking smear. >> doing about 18 to 20 hours in the pool. we do four mornings, five afternoons and a saturday practice with some weight training in there. so it is a lot of training but we make sure we get it all

done. >> what's a normal day? >> practice 5:45, and swim here, in the morning for about an hour, hour and 15, then we go through a school day like everyone else, little more tired, and then we come in the afternoon, another two hours. >> you have to. >> and then get our homework done, then restart for the next day. >> and the coach, you're going for six straight. how do you feel going into it? >> like jake said, each year different. as you prepare, for the season, you know, when you get up to state, everybody kind of takes care of their roles and their jobs. you know, we really don't like kind of worry about the points too much. it is kind of like how things will shake out, or, you know, at the end, you know, and we perform well. so we have had some good luck up there. >> coach good luck. >> thank you so much. >> jake, good luck. good luck to lasalle high school team going for six straight titles. pretty impressive stuff. >> impressive indeed.

"eyewitness news" reporter trang do live at penn's landing with more on the waterfront make overment good morning, trang. >> well, good morning, jim, rahel. yes, just proposal on paper, just five short years ago, but thanks to major inches infusion, this entire area here, will be transformed into a dramatic park, elevated over the roadway here. >> penn's landing is getting a 225 million-dollar overhaul next to riverfront to the rest of the city. >> we believe it will be truely transformed. >> delaware river waterfront is spanning the 11-acre park which president tomorrow corriveau and says will expand over columbus boulevard, between chestnut and walnut.

>> i think it will be an amazing place, public space, that will be 4-acre cap over the highway, that will have all times of activities, and then 7-acre beautifully landscaped park down to the river. >> it will also change with the seasons. a skating rink in the water and more green spares in the summer. people who live in the area like jena epstein are thrilled. >> i'm excited. i think it will be good for the city, good for the community. i think it will be good for the kids and families it, will give them something to do. >> earlier this week, mayor jim kenney pledged $90 million for the park. penndot is contributing 115 million, and thursday, the william penn foundation announced $15 million contribution, leaving just 10 million unfunded. that initial investment is expected to pay off in hundreds of millions in economic impact for years to come. >> always great to have more things like this, gets people out, engaged in the city. bringing more revenue in the sit, people spending money and enjoying and building up the community.
