gunfire in the streets of philadelphia, shots ring out after a music performance, four people are hit by bullets , including one innocent bystander. all of the victims hot are expected to survive. good afternoon i'm jim donovan aim rahel solomon. "eyewitness news" reporter january january carabao takes to us mt. airy where violence unfolded earlier this morning. >> reporter: bullet holes in at least two storefronts along germantown avenue show violence that unfolded here in mt. airy early friday morning. four people were shot, after a

concert ended at 7165 restaurant and bar closed for the night. ron was one of the wrappers on stage. he wasn't hurt but his friend was shot in the back. >> there was a lot of people in there talking and then he just kept running, trying to figure it out still happened so fast. >> reporter: gunfire erupted around 2:00 a.m. in the 7100 block. a crowd of 20 had exited the bar, for some reason an argument turned physical, and then someone pulled out a gun. bartender was shot during the chaos. >> she was outside trying to calm the crowd, along with other employees, of the bar restaurant, when the shots were fired. >> reporter: when police arrived cars raced from the scene, police found one car crashed in the pole about six blocks away at germantown and upsol, a 26 year-old man was inside shot multiple times critically injured. the two other men a 25 year-old and 26 year-old showed up at area hospitals shot. police are trying to sort out what sparked the argument and

who pulled the trigger. >> we strongly believe that the shooter was actually inside of the bar restaurant right before the fight and the shots were fired. >> reporter: police still have a lot to process, they found eight spent shell casings at the scene and number of eyewitnesses out here last night and surveillance cameras both inside bar and in the surrounding area. in mt. airy, jan car bay other for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". developing this news st. louis man is and rest of accused of making threats to eight jewish community centers nationwide in january and february. federal authorities say that juan thompson made the threats to harass a former girlfriend. he is also accused of threatening anti defamation league's headquarters in new york. thompson is expected to appear in a missouri courtroom this afternoon on charges that include, cyber stalking, we will have more on this story later on "eyewitness news" starting at 5:00. two fire fighters are recovering from minor injuries they sustain battling a fire in north jersey shore town. investigators say fire started

around 5:00 this morning in the vacant hotel in ocean grove monmouth county. flames quickly spread to two condo buildings and four residential homes, all of those were able to escape un injured. >> devastating as it is because of these homes, buildings it could have been much worse. throw in the fact that the element, the winds, it could have been worse. >> investigators are now working to pinpoint what sparked that fire. and fire fighters were also battling flames at new york's trump international hotel, the fire on the upper floor led to some scary moments as you might imagine for some guests and workers. building was evacuated, one person was treated for smoke inhalation. as for the cause authorities blame a piece of machinery malfunction nothing a unit under construction. update on the massive pothole in philadelphia's port richmond section. officials with the water department tells us an inspection reveals a four by 3-. the road remains closed pending further investigation. we understand one vehicle was damaged after it got stuck in the big hole. well, despite recent warmer weather, winter is

returning, you may see some, snow showers, today? meteorologist katie fehlinger is live from the cbs-3 weather center, hello there, katie. >> hello, jim, yes, winter is making a come back in the big way. not the wind we had from yesterday but still quite breezy out there and we have got a clipper system moving through. if you know anything about clippers and why wouldn't you we have nothing but, some chill that will get reenforced from this but it also is a system that tends to, really pack limited moisture. that is what this will end up doing, classic clipper, take a look as we have seen in the last couple hours how storm scan begins to bubble up more here. a lot of that moisture isn't hitting the ground as actual rain or snowflakes right now but with time we will see some flakes flying through the air for rest of the midday. more cloud cover has begun to build in here. not as bright as blue skies as what we had this morning. meanwhile it is chilly, already. since yesterday we have dropped 10 degrees from noon time yesterday in trenton as wells in philadelphia.

chillier as well pretty much every where else. with that said as that translates to the thermometer you are not even at 40 degrees in those spots but pretty persistent wet northwesterly wind flow. again we were in the 20's, even 30's for sustained wind speeds this same time yesterday. you don't have that right now but it is cold enough, and it is a noticeable breeze. so today progresses there will be scattered snow showers around, i doubt thaw will see much more than a grass coating , at absolute worst, so maybe some minor visibility problems as the fire up these storms but cold not your thing , it is none of ours here in the studio i have news of another warm up down the road and let you know when it climbs later on, guys. thanks, katie. we are following breaking news , chopper three live over a deadly fire on the 3200 block of e street in the fair hill section of philadelphia right now. a row home went up in flames shortly after 11:15 this morning. fire department confirms that at least one person was transported, to temple university hospital, where

that person died. one other person, was treated at the scene. well, there there is new fall out over revelation that is more trum april associates may have had contact with russian officials during the campaign. of course, correspondent weijia jiang president is continuing to support attorney jeff sessions throughout it all. >> reporter: president trump is standing by his attorney general after jeff sessions re accused himself from investigating links between trump campaign officials and russia. during confirmation hearings, sessions did not disclose he had two meetings with russia's ambassador in the last year. >> in retrospect i should have slowed down and said but i did meet, one russian official, a couple of times. >> reporter: president issued a statement saying that jeff sessions is an honest man. he could have stated his response more accurately but it was clearly not intentional he then accused the democrats of carrying out a total witch hunt, some democrats say that sessions lied under oath, and needs to resign. >> and now we know jared

kushner, the president's son in law and senior advisor is on a growing list of trump associates who met with the russian ambassador. that list includes former national security advisor michael flynn, attorney general sessions and former campaign advisor carter page. congress is conducting its own investigation and some say the fbi director is withholding information. >> we cannot do a complete job unless the director is willing to discuss anything that they are investigating. >> reporter: russian's foreign minister echoed president trump's statement friday calling it a witch hunt. weijia jiang for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". meantime vice-president mike pence is under fire this noon, for reportedly using a private e-mail account to conduct public business, while he was governor of indiana. indianapolis star pence use a aol account to communicate with top advisors. during the campaign vice-president pence variety sized hillary clinton's use of a private e-mail server while she served as president obama 's secretary of state.

new dash cam video of the deadly take down by police following a high speed chase in georgia is raising questions. officers repeatedly taserd 18 year-old driver before he died at the scene. now teen's parents say that the video should be seen by the world. cbs news correspondent mark stratman has details. after a roughly 10-mile chase, harris county sheriff deputies approached nicholas. deputies smashed his window, taserd him, pulled him from the truck and threw him to the ground and cuffed him. you can see one deputy put his knee on the back have his neck for roughly 40 seconds. a few minutes later they noticed the teenager had stopped moving. >> hey. deputies originally responded to a call about a man sleeping in his truck, when they woke him up right away he took off. once they caught and subdued him, and he stopped breathing,

deputies didn't start cpr until nearly 10 minutes later. >> it is heart breaking, you know, to imagine, what happened. >> reporter: nicholas mom tammy, just can't bring herself to watch the video. >> do you feel as though your son was executed. >> yes. >> reporter: because. >> because i think that they were really rough with him. i think they were brutal to him. >> reporter: nicholas autopsy report listed three causes of death, use of the stun gun and compression to the neck and torso. it says that the third cause was methamphetamine intoxication. >> he made a mistake by running, he made a mistake by taking meth, that may have influenced his judgment but last time i check, that is not a capitol offense. >> i know he shouldn't have run. i understand that. but, it really wasn't their place to end his life. >> reporter: her parents have filed a civil suit against

welcome back. city of philadelphia will soon have new police officers walking the beat, "eyewitness news" at this morning's graduation ceremony for philadelphia's new officers. this class includes, 58 philadelphia police recruits, nine temple police recruit and one recruit from the housing authority. each graduate completed eight months of police academy training. congratulations. also several students in a delaware county catholic school are giving thanks to officers for their local police department. aloysius academy in bryn mawr where students honored officers from the radnor police department this morning hundreds of people will soon be out of the job, hh greg is closing dozens of stores, including 11 in our area which you can see on our map. distribution center in philadelphia will also close. we have learned that the appliance and electronic chain will close a total of 88 stores across the country. those closures are expected to happen by middle of april. while were you fast asleep last night thousands camped out hoping to get their hands on the latest gaming gadget. midnight marked official release of the nintendo's anticipated gaming console the switch, and gamers didn't let cold temperatures stop them from lining up, this is best boost in south philadelphia where long lines wrapped around the building. some gamers told us they arrived as early as 3:30 yesterday afternoon. >> i guess it is history. also to assure that we have one to play tomorrow and they are coming to town and i was there 10 years ago when wii came out and i thought why not do it again. >> it has been 10 years since i had a nintendo system.

said. perhaps it does reduce your visibility ever so slightly. now, we are going to be all over the place here, a tug of war in the atmosphere, from now until the next couple weeks, and reason is the shift in the jet stream. for now we are feeling like winter but we will warm up very swift liz into next week, as jet stream allows warmth to build in but for now arctic air in place. keep us at best in the upper 30's. right around 40 for next few days. and then by tuesday, even as early as monday, we will start to see a nice surge on the thermometer because we will see wind flow shift southerly. jet stream lifts to the north to allow that to surge our way and get temperatures back in the 60's. it is an inconsistent pattern. you really can't put away winter gear, you cannot break out spring gear, and we won out, really. because we will be dealing with these, inconsistent stories and roller coaster ride on the thermometer. below affirming in the weekend bitterly cold, wait until you see seven day on sunday morning. we do rebound swiftly. for the rest of the day, walk

you through, next couple of hours, there are spots you will not even see, a snowflake out there. it is very scattered. but it will be out there certainly a head line because we have not seen much snow lately. meanwhile it is all out of here later tonight. we are left with clear skies, breezy conditions, and very cold air. how much are we talking about? not a heck of a lot, guys. i doubt we will see much in the way of accumulation out of this. but future snow amounts something to show you. meanwhile outside whitefield elementary school clouds have built in. very gray sky. 35 degrees. this was camera rocking and rolling a moment ago because of the wind flow. the clouds are moving right along. look at these shadows. they are cast across the soccer field right before your very eyes. tells me that the wind continues to blow, through and with the clouds rolling through as quickly as they are , you will see those shadows shift throughout the camera shot. 32 degrees in bernville in berks county as well this was one of where i thought i would see a snowflake. it is trying to, it is not having an easy time but we will see these snow showers,
