march. we can still get that cold days but sunnies getting stronger and stronger. when you are driving it will feel warm. as soon as you step outside it hits you hard. we are waking up to temperatures more like january mid winter stuff this morning especially with the wind chills values down in the teens in a lot of locations. rough start this morning heading outside for that morning jog, bike ride, walking the dog you will need full winter gear this morning. we have clear skies, little bit of the breeze right now that will pick up throughout the morning and afternoon. could get gusty and making things feel worse. actual air temperature 25 degrees at the airport. west wind at seven. feels like 17 on exposed skin. we have temperatures spread from 10 degrees in mount pocono to the mid 20's along the coast of the wildwood. even the shore is feeling these cold temperatures, dipping down in the upper teens now in quakertown to 20, doylestown, pottstown probably dropping other degree or two, and there is winds out of the west around five to 10 miles an hour increasing a little bit to gusting to near 30.

here's the wind chill values that feel like minus five in mount pocono, 12 in allentown. this is what we will be showing you for middle of the winter not early march but it happens from time to time. we have a lot of sun. we have clear skies, today, maybe see a flurry up in the poconos and that is it. overall sunny skies, in the region, upper 30's for philadelphia, 10 degrees below average. mid 30's at the shore. twenty's in the poconos. like all winter long, couple days of cool down and then warm it up, we will talk about that warming trend in the seven daze in a few minutes. back to you. don't put those coats away just yet, thanks, justin. an accident in north philadelphia has sent two people to the hospital, the accident happened around 2:30 this morning at north fifth and west york streets. both victims are at temple university hospital, and no word on their injuries. and investigators are trying to pinpoint what sparked a fire in west philadelphia. the call came in right around 12:30 for a fire at a three story building near 52nd and

delancey. it was under control in less than a half an hour. gunfire hits a man and school bus with children on board in philadelphia's logan neighborhood. they were not the intended targets. meantime police may have an important clue in the search for a motive. "eyewitness news" reporter anita oh is live at northwest detectives to bring us up to date on the investigation. good morning, anita? >> reporter: good morning, jan this violent encounter happened in broad daylight, police say that the gunman fired more than 40 shots from so many i automatic weapons and that it is miraculous that everyone including the innocent bystanders, survived. the whole incident caught, on cameras taking a look at the video of the shattered glass at least eight bullet holes to that bus, it is all you been folding just before 4:30 in logan in the 4400 block of north 19th street near winning hawking street. we know at this time a 58 year-old man shot in the left ear is in stable condition in einstein medical center. that victim polled police he

was not the intended target. the 47 year-old driver, a 20 year-old woman and 13 year-old girl, none were hit. chief inspector scott small says philadelphia police crime cameras a block from the crime scene showed a car with tinted windows parked at the intersection. >> it shows four males, exit that vehicle, and all wearing masks, and dark clothing, and all four males are armed with guns and those four males are firing the weapons. >> reporter: now police are still looking for those four suspects, any within with any information should call philadelphia police. for now live from northwest detectives aim's neat a oh for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". police in montgomery county are looking for one of the two cars that hit a person in pottstown last night. chopper three over route 100 and shoemaker road. victim died after being pinned underneath one of those cars. police tell us that the driver who stayed on the scene is

back on "eyewitness news" work to reopen a busy bridge connecting the pennsylvania and new jersey turnpike is on track to be completed next month. crews have been working to fix a crack underneath the delaware river bridge for several weeks now. officials with the pennsylvania turnpike commission say that good weather has helped speed up repair work and they expect to reopen it up in early april. dealing with long security lines at airport checkpoints can be a nuisance while traveling but they could soon be a thing of the past. three on your side's jim donovan takes a look at new technology being considered by the tsa which could help speed things along. >> because is there nothing else like it at security checkpoint right now. >> reporter: can you spot hidden knife in this bag? this is viewer screener would have on machines like ones in

use today but with the new 3-d , ct technology that is a hard to miss knife. side by side images on a touch screen can be zoomed in, spun around for true 360-degree view. anlogic is one of five companies developing ct scan ners for airport checkpoints. the machines could detect explosives in lap tops, liquids and goals which means days of having to take things out of your car i on bag could be numbered. look at what is do this carry on. clear picture of is what inside should reduce need for secondary bag checks. and when pared with new automated lanes already being tested at airports, anlogic believes ct scanners could increase productivity at checkpoints bias much as 50 percent. 2015 internal review revealed tsa officers failed to detect 95 percent of fake explosives and weapons smuggled through checkpoints by undercover

philadelphia as well. you have to remember it is early march. it is just not time for spring yet. >> we have had snow in the april in the past. >> no. >> but it is possible. that is going to be pattern, just a couple cool days and warms up and that is a trend for the next few weeks. spring officially arrives in over two weeks but that doesn't mean we are locked in the warm pattern. snow is flying in the poconos this morning. this is manmade snow maybe get a couple snow flurries but they are cranking out guns here at big boulder here, that is great news for ski season, extend that, probably get through the end of march with no problems there especially with shots of cold air coming at us every few days or so. so they will be able to make up for what they lost due to the recent warmth and rain. ideal skiing conditions this weekend. it will be cold. we have goggles, and heavy winter gear. here's the headline, it will feel like middle of january today for the high temperatures but sunnies at least on the stronger side. you can feel it sitting in the car but wind chill values will

be in the teens and 20's. we will have a lot of sun today, and tomorrow and like i said it is a quick shot of cold air and then moves out. another warming trend comes back at us for next week. we are talking about temperatures returning to the 60's. that is not happening this weekend. big drop in the jet stream, it is to our south, that happens it is still a decent snow pack across canada that cold air is able to bleed southward in the mid-atlantic region. we have cold air sitting over us today and certainly tomorrow. finally lifts out later during the daze sunday so it feels like mid-january time period, with temperatures running a good 10 degrees below average. we should be in the upper 40's not upper 30's today. it will be tough. twenty-three in cherry hill. millville 25. in the capitol city of delaware around the suburbs, philadelphia, same deal lower 20's at this hour. twenty-five at the airport. then we will get to the northwestern suburbs, quakertown 19, 10 in mount pocono. something you do not think about for early march. the flow still coming out of the west northwest. you can see that in the clouds

, even some lake effect snow showers and some of those cold air is running over the warmer atlantic ocean producing clouds right there flurries are possible for the poconos. i don't think we will deal with widespread snow squals today. high pressure lock over the midst atlantic today and tomorrow. we will see mainly sunny skies but just locked in the cold eras well. eventually that pressure system will move off shore, so now we will start to bring back warmer eras wind shifts out of the south. so come monday, some clouds start to return but that is the sign of the milder air moving in. but it is on hold, so we have another 48 hours to go lear. check out these wind chill values. it will feel like the teens, mid 20's this afternoon. went sunshine it will not help things much. tonight 8:00 o'clock heading out of the town, dinner plans, cold, single digit wind chills later tonight and certainly early on sunday morning. check out these morning wind chills tomorrow, could feel as cold as three in trenton, minus seven in mount pocono. it gets better sunday afternoon with wind chill values back into the midst

document any possible human rights violation that is could happen under the trump administration immigration enforcement. in olde city, alycia nieves for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". a neighbor rushed in the burning row home to save a young boy in kensington. fire happened on the 3200 block of e street, that man ran through flames to rescue a four year-old boy had a phone and was about to call 911. that child and his grandparents are now in the hospital. "eyewitness news" spoke with that neighbor hoist now being praised as a hero. >> my main goal was to grab him from the kitchen. he had black stuff on the face >> wow, the child and the grandparents are in serious condition, but the cause of the fire is under investigation. meantime, a seven year-old boy became a hero when he put what he learned about emergency situationness to practice. "eyewitness news" reporter natasha brown has that story from evesham township.

>> i just could not breathe or talk. >> reporter: heart pounding moments for danielle on friday morning as she lied on the floor, gasping for air after battling bronchitis and an asthma attack. she was getting her seven year-old son rocco ready for school when the courageous little boy stepped into a life saving moment. >> i didn't know what to do at first but then i was like what do i do and then she said call 911. >> we taught him how to call 911. i have a lot of medical issues , if mommy is feeling this way, who do i call what do i do. >> reporter: he told emergency dispatchers what was happening >> when he asked me the questions and what happened and stuffy answered them, then i pressed either of these buttons. >> reporter: medics arrived rocco was comforting his mother while crews comforted him. >> they came, and they were keeping me very busy. so i don't have to worry about what was happening.

>> reporter: while danielle was rush to the hospital, rocco channeled his inner super hero as he helpedded off to school. >> he walked out for school with the super manhattan. it tells you right there, right. >> right. >> reporter: when asked how he felt about what he had done. >> a little nervous and a little bit like a hero. >> reporter: a lot more like a hero in his grateful mother's eyes. >> when i saw him i started to crying and i gave him a big hug and said how proud i was of home. >> reporter: natasha brown for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". what a brave boy. one of the original stars of the musical rag time visited cherry hill high school east, brian stokes- mitchell loaned his voice about the use of the n word in the school's upcoming production. as "eyewitness news" has been reporting the cherry hill school district originally deleted the word from the scripts but reversed its decision after getting input from both parents and community leaders. mitchell spoke about the role of race and atonicities in rag time. >> it is a show that is
