"eyewitness news" reporter greg argos is live at the scene of one attack at broad and morris at surveillance video police want to you see, greg. and jessica you will see that video in just a second, it is very intense, surveillance video but police tell me tonight that the group appears to be watching more victims. especially as those victims leave the subway they will follow them for a block or two and then that group will make its move. >> the attack happened quickly >> reporter: group of teens follow their victims and then strike. >> they came up, behind us, a person, and assaulted them, and knocked them to the ground and kicked them and stole money. >> reporter: police in the third district are investigating three separate although similar incidents. the first this beating on the 1200 block of south broad street near ellsworth federal station on january 10th. >> as far as my knowledge goes , nobody has seen any tips that they identified these offenders. >> reporter: there has been an arrest and two other crimes. the first, february 6th, these

teens seen posing for camera leaving tasker/morris street station, before attacking a 22-year old man and stealing his phone. two days later, two blocks away on pierce street another robbery another victim's phone snatched. >> we have pinged his phone that was taken and lead to us 1600 west moreland area. >> reporter: that is where a 15 year-old ace rested charged for two of the three robberies what about the first attack on south broad and the other teens involved. >> still an active investigation, we are still looking into his accomplice. >> reporter: while police worked the case, those living in this area are taking extra precautions. >> i look around and see what is going on to see if there is a group in front of me bee behind me. >> i don't carry a handbag for fear somebody will hit me over the head. >> reporter: you don't carry. >> no, i don't. you see? no i don't. i carry my keys and a cell phone.

>> reporter: once again police say there has only been one arrest so far, that is a 15 year-old teenage boy but as you saw in that surveillance video there are at lee three others involved in these crimes. if you happen to know anything about these crimes call police live from south philadelphia, greg argos for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> greg, thank you. day care worker is facing charges for allegedly pushing a small child down the stairs. that incident was caught on camera. "eyewitness news" reporter natasha brownies live, with the details that are just being released, natasha. >> reporter: city was very disturbing at its very difficult to watch, we have blurred the child's face for her protection but let's let you take a look at what police got a glimpse of earlier today this is something that was just released by the surveillance day care center. police received video today but this incident happened friday at 5:00 p.m. at child care of the few to day care center on sea kaine avenue. you can see day care worker violently push child, four

year-old little girl never even touched the stairs it appears she fell on the platform below. the day care worker has been identified as five two-year old sarah gable of folcroft upper darby police say center had just recently installed those cameras and they are very happy that they called to report this very disturbing incident. we are told the four year-old girl despite how violent that fall must have been for her little body that she did suffer a knee injury and back at day care center today. five two-year old sarah gable was fired from the day care center immediately, she's facing simple assault and endangering welfare of the child charge. she has been charged with those charges and she has been released on $25,000 bail. that is very latest for now, we are live from upper darby tonight, natasha brown for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> makes you sick, thanks natasha. huge fire guts a fitness and physical therapy center in northeast philadelphia and sent two employees to the hospital with minor injuries. fire fighters were called to

afc fitness on the 3600 block of grant avenue just after 11:00 this morning. fire swelled to four alarms before being placed under control about two hours later. one patient we spoke with credited the staff with helping to get everyone out so quickly. >> you see black smoke coming out already and then we have this old lady doing therapy in the water, and then tried to get them out. >> employees tell "eyewitness news" repairs were made to the roof of that building. now fire officials are working to determine whether that played a role in sparking the fire. since president trump took office many of you have asked us to sit down with pennsylvania republican senator pat toomey. today senator toomey answered your calls agreeing to take your questions live on facebook among topics discussed during that conversation were immigration and president's travel ban and toomey's opinions about the president's administration. we have been requesting for a month and republican senator patrick toomey finally agreed

to speak with us on facebook live. >> people have a wide range of opinions. >> reporter: taking questions from his constituents on the issue they have been voicing in front of his officers since president trump was elected. >> i will continue to make sure that i'm hearing from constituents in many, many ways. >> reporter: conversation with senator toomey revealed a lot on his thoughts on the trump administration. >> i have disagreed with the president publicly when i thought, for instance that his immigration order went way too far. >> reporter: and the president's revamped executive order impacting immigration. >> this looks like it is an improvement, at the end of the day however let me be clear do i think that there are country where it is very hard to be confident in their vetting, because they are failed states or they are countries that are extremely whose style to the you had. it is sensible for us to take every precaution, to make sure that the people coming from those places have been thoroughly vetted before we bring them here. >> reporter: our on line audience was critical of toomey's opinion of the administration quoting senator

when he told voting public he would not be a rubber stamp for president trump. >> few things, for one we have not had a single vote in congress on any item of a trump agenda. there has been no legislation. legislation we have voted on has been created, initiated driven by house and senate. as far as nominees, i voted to confirm three-quarters of the barack obamaes nominees that came before me in the senate because i think the president ought to get a lot of latitude in assembling his or her team. >> protesters showed up here at cbs-3 studios to greet senator toomey today. about 20 protesters turnout here in spring garden, they are from the group tuesday's with toomey and they say the senator has been avoiding, face-to-face town halls. >> we want to have a constructive conversation with our senator and to have him meet our eyes, and basically, understand that why we're coming out every week. >> we're told senator toomey

did meet with some of the tuesday with toomey protesters earlier today and in a statement the senator said the conversation was constructive and it focused on the potential for future town hall meetings. if you missed any of the conversation with senator toomey this afternoon you can watch it on line at cbs philly .com. trump administration has unveiled its revise executive order meant to keep terrorist from the u.s. updated travel ban will take effect march 16th and last 120 days. it will apply to sit sense of six muslim majority countries and removes iraq from that list. order also suspend the u.s. refugee program but it does not apply to refugees, who are already on their way. "cbs evening news" with scott pelley will have latest developments on the president 's new travel ban, coming up at 6:30 right here after "eyewitness news" at 6:00. philadelphia city council committee on public health and human services held hearings today on the repeal of the affordable care act. the committee hopes it will

help city prepare for possible changes to the health care law committee listened to testimony from health policy experts, city officials and residents. former penn state assistant football coach jerry sandusky has been moved to a new prison facility. he was recently transferred from the maximum security prison to medium security facility outside pittsburgh. sandusky is serving 30 to 60 year sentence for sexually abusing 10 boys. prison officials will not say why sandusky was moved but says it is not uncommon for that to happen without explanation. excitement is building for nfl draft here in philadelphia now you have a chance to see that action in person. the nfl just opened up a lottery to win two free tickets to the draft theater being set up on the art museum steps. you have until march 19th to enter that lottery, we have put a link on the web site at cbs philly.com, draft runs from april 27th to the 29th and if you don't have a ticket you can still check out nfl draft experience, fan festival on the parkway, for free.

especially on sunday have a chance at picking up accumulating snow but still a lot of moving parts here. we are a week or six days away from that potential event. stay tune. we have an eye on it. i'll break down a few facts coming upright now. we will start off with a look outside right now. you can still see light in the sky. sunset 5:59 tonight but still only one more week we will see sunset around 6:00 o'clock hour. by this time next week sun will be setting after 7:00 p.m. daylight savings time begins this weekend. we have to set those clocks forward saturday night into sunday morning. cloud won here in bethlehem. you can see storm scan three we have showers moving across central and western pennsylvania, and thinks a warm front lifting through much of the eastern half of the country here tonight and tomorrow and bring some milder air with it but some showers, fog, some drizzle, then as we head into wednesday the associated cold front way back here will come through with a chance for showers or rumble of thunder late tomorrow night and eventually a cool down by

end of the week. temperatures are pretty comfortable right now compared to the weekend it feels a whole lot better outside. forty-nine in philadelphia. forty-nine in reading. forty-three in wilmington. mild 50 degrees in lancaster right now. cooler in south jersey, and, overnight hours are concerned we don't have a ton of moisture in this system. light freezing drizzle in the poconos and higher elevations in the lehigh valley. you see north and western suburbs will see a majority of the showers tonight and tomorrow morning. also wet morning commute in the lehigh valley from the city on south. it looks relatively quiet here tomorrow morning. just some fog and drizzle. that lifts out. we will dry here. tomorrow midday through late afternoon hours maybe a few breaks of sun but then we will get another line of showers coming through overnight. crosses the area between 2:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. moves out. sun returns wednesday afternoon but wind pick up and temperatures will start decreasing, again by the end of the week. well below average yesterday. today we are right on point

about 2 degrees above the normal, and temperatures, shoot up to the 60's for next two days, and, we're below average, once again. lets break down these snow threats. looking ahead friday morning, weak clipper system thursday night into friday morning. temperatures marginal above freezing for most of us, rain mixed with snow possibly, there could be some snow in the northern and western suburbs in the friday morning. sunday we are watching storm powe text. latest models have it colder south as cold air comes from the north. best looks to be southern part of the region, southern delaware through del marva but we will keep you posted on. that things could get interesting here on sunday, as enough cold air in place for accumulating snow, somewhere, but question is where does it fall. that social i'll be watching very closely and tweeting, facebooking about all week long. we will see what happens there you're witness weather seven day forecast warm for next few days. then gets colder. weekend highs only in the 30's both days, and have that
