right now at 11:00, police are on the scene of an attempted kidnapping of an apartment complex in newcastle county. they believe they're dealing with the same suspect wanted in two similar incidents. good evening everyone. i'm jessica dean. >> and i'm nicole brewer. yukee washington has the night he pulled a handgun and forced her to that apartment where someone answered the door and the suspect ran. detectives believe the same suspect is responsible for two other attacks last month. one of those happened at the top of the hill apartments, the other at the arundel apartments. in both of those cases, the women were sexually assaulted and forced to withdraw cash from atms. also tonight. >> we don't put our hands on children, we don't do any of

this. >> reporter: shocking video shows a day care worker pushing a young child down the steps and tonight we're hearing from the woman who uncovered that abuse. surveillance cameras were installed at the delaware county day care just minutes before that incident happened now a teacher is under arrest. parents were stunned to hear the news. natasha? >> reporter: top care of the future day care center behind me had just installed eight new surveillance cameras just before this happened and for some parents it wasn't a moment too soon. >> it still hurts me to see in a video when i saw it air i'm just like wow. it still hurts. >> reporter: it's an unmistakable image. >> she was really shaken up. and i'm just like i'm here. >> reporter: she was watching the newly installed cameras at the child care of the future day care center friday evening when

she says she witnessed the day care center worker violently pull down a flight of stairs. >> i went and confronted her at the bottom of the stairs. you can see me on camera, what are you doing, we don't do this to children. >> reporter: that particular it sending my child injury.ittle sca rocked toknow. meantimeeing in the day car dan >> on the sceneare involved in targeting victims' cell phones as they leave septa stations. they attacked a 22-year-old man and stole his phone. two days later, two blocks away another phone was taken. so far a 15-year-old has been arrested, but police are looking for others. >> it's still an active investigation.

they're still looking into his accomplice and south detectives is actively investigating. >> police believe at least three other people are involved. anyone with information is asked to contact police. >> pennsylvania center pat toomey visited cbs3 today to answer your questions. since president trump took office many viewers have wanted us to sit down with the senator. he discussed his thoughts on the new administration and why he has not scheduled a face-to-face town hall meeting. >> since we're in washington usually five days a week, most weeks out of the month, there's not that many opportunities, but one thing that i have done, i've continued to do, i think i've done 48 telephone town halls which is actually a terrific venue. >> so how did people who reached out during our social media conversation feel about the senator's response? david spunt tracked down two of our participants. were they satisfied with the answers they got? >> woren them, philadelphia

resident wrote the question you just heard the senator answer about the town hall. she says his answer forces constituents to ultimately have more questions. >> i'm sure we'll do one at some point. >> reporter: speaking exclusively at cbs3 on monday, senator pat toomey said he would consider an in-person town hall in philadelphia. the woman who submitted that question tells eyewitness news the time is now. >> i thought it was a little evasive. there are a lot of people that would like to have a meeting. >> reporter: she says she's pressed for a town hall for months with no luck. she watched for his response on camera. >> we've had over 20,000 people, either on the phone or listening to the audio stream. >> reporter: the senator offered no official commitment to an in-person town hall for this part of the state. >> it's his job to be present and to be accounted for and in terms of why it's important,

staff in the caucus unable to access their computer network or data citing the investigation democrats aren't saying what if any ransom was demanded. former penn state assistant football coach jerry sandusky has been moved to a new prison. he was transferred to a medium security facility outside of pittsburgh. prison officials wouldn't say why he was moved, but they say it's not uncommon for that to happen without explanation. nurses and technical staff at delaware county memorial hospital are on day two of a workers' strike and it may continue for another three days. chopper 3 was over in the hospital in drexel hill this afternoon. workers planned to be off the job for only two days but the company says staffing agencies require a 5-day deposit for temporary replacement. the nfl draft comes to

hundreds of marines are accused of using a private facebook group to share pictures of their female colleagues.

the photos drew thousands of comments, some of them lewd in nature. the alleged conduct undermines their core values and erodes trust and degrades the individual. facebook has removed the group from its site. >> changing at airport security lines. the tsa have created a standardized procedure. the change comes after a report found major security lapses around the country but some travelers say the pat-downs go too far. >> reporter: at times air travel can be a hassle. >> the tsa checkpoint having to take off your shoes, your belt. >> you have to take everything which is understandable, but it can get backed up. >> you have to have a lot of patience these days. >> reporter: most passengers agree it's all for the greater good but not everyone is on board with a newly launch more

happening right now. quiet conditions outside in the city. nothing going on right now but some spots will have a bit of a wet morning commute not all of us. you can see our system moving in. this is rain associated with a warm front that's lifting through much of the northeast here tonight. you can see most of the showers are missing the city and certain suburbs to the north. it's generally light for now, possibly a few patches of freezing rain up in the highest elevations of the poconos. most of that missing to the north as temperatures are mild enough to keep the freezing rain away. but the rain will move in overnight, some light drizzle and scattered showers. we also have this strong cold front, a kind of large system, the same cold front associated with that warm front, here it comes moving through portions of missouri. we've had tornadoes in effect. we have had reports of neighborhoods damaged by

tornadoes here this evening so a dangerous situation under way there. locally we've got a southeast wind temperatures are in the low 40s across our map and across our area as well. as we head into tomorrow morning, you can see most of the rain misses philadelphia to the north and west. so it's a wet morning commute. that then really kind of lifts off to the north we may pick up a few stray showers in the city. a few breaks of sunshine and that same cold front comes through with a line of showers and possible thunderstorms very early wednesday morning. so what to expect? warm front arrives tomorrow, we're 10-15 degrees above affirming, with fog and drizzle with some scattered showers. temperatures surge to more than 15 degrees above average in spots. looking ahead we've got two systems to talk about. friday morning a weak clipper system moves through, could bring the chance for some rain mixing with snow early friday morning, still unclear about the

actual position of that low. sunday looks like a more potent storm potential. as of right now it looks like the best chance will be the southern parts of our area but it will bring the chance of accumulating snow and it will be cold enough to do so on sunday. that's a day we have to keep our eye on. it's way too soon to make any judgment about what kind of snow will fall and who will get it. i've got my eye on it, suffice it to say we go from the mid 60s to the 30s from thunderstorms to snow. another wacky weather week. >> all over the place. she can't make up her mind, that mother nature. >> lesley is up next with sports. >> we expect eagles to be active. we have an update on who they could be after. the sixers taking on the bucks.
