contrast between today and tomorrow will be so, so noticeable. temperatures right now are still in the 60's. sixty-five in newark and swede bureau. sixty-four in cherry hill. philadelphia sits at 65 degrees still. sixty-one chalfont. up toward lehigh valley and poconos area that may get hit with the heaviest snow is still near 60 degrees. cold will come in quickly and snow will come down heavily enough to overcome milder temperatures at surface leading to the threat for accumulations especially in far north and western suburbs. few light showers breaking out mostly not reaching ground on storm scan three. main push comes in overnight and into the early morning hours tomorrow where it will gain strength and snow could come down at a pretty good clip here for several hours. see it right along pennsylvania/new york state border right now. it doesn't look impressive but will tomorrow morning. future weather shows us through tonight, it is quiet. 2:00 a.m. we will see snow break out to the north and spread southward. by 6:00 a.m. heavy snow in philadelphia and surrounding

suburbs. we have a winter weather advisory in effect for much region montgomery and bucks counties and all spots northward from late tonight into the first half of your friday. coming up i'll tell you how much snow to expect where you live and then brutal cold that will follow and potentially another snow threat next week, lots to talk about nicole. >> kate, thanks. our morning team will have latest tomorrow morning's snow fall starting early at 4:00 a.m. katie will track snow and meisha will let you know about problems on the road on "eyewitness news" this morning beginning at 4:00 o'clock. we first told you last night about a nationwide outage that prevented at&t wireless customers from calling 911. now we know scope of the outage affected people in more than a dozen states, including pennsylvania, and our area at&t customers in bucks, chester, delaware, montgomery counties were unable to call 911. "eyewitness news" reporter alycia nieves has more. >> reporter: millions of at&t customers in 14 states and washington d.c. went for hours

last night without the ability to call 911. here in pennsylvania that included hundreds of thousands of people losing the vital life line in chester, bucks, montgomery and delaware counties. >> police, fire, ambulance. >> reporter: dispatchers at delaware county's 911 communication center was one of the first in the country to net is issue. >> by 7:45 we recognize aid significant emergency. >> reporter: director of emergency services in delaware county timothy boyce said at&t were getting bus signal or line just kept ringing. at&t was able to fix issue by 10:30 last night but not before potentially costing one person their life. >> a person was in urgent need of medical care, personal that was with them tried for 10 to 15 minutes to call out on their cell phone. that 10 or 15 minutes were critical amount of time. >> reporter: emergency management now says this is why people should know the non-emergency numbers in their counties that number was the

work around during the at&t, 911 outage. >> we're encouraging people to use this experience to learn. >> reporter: having non- emergency number in your county is extremely important but emergency management says a what is more important is having a general backup plan in case you lose power or cell phone service, all together. >> last thing we want is anybody to be delayed getting help, so if you cannot get through either service get a neighbor, get a friend to make them aware. >> reporter: at&t has not said what caused massive 911 outage to millions around the country , the ftc is now investigating. in delaware county alycia nieves for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". if you are unsure of the non-emergency number for your county head to cbs philly.com for more information. we are following breaking news tonight which will affect thousands of commuters. officialness pennsylvania and new jersey make a big announcement regarding the delaware river connector bridge closed since january 20th. lets get you over to "eyewitness news" reporter

greg argos in bristol who has been on this story about the bridge for a while now, greg, what is very latest. >> reporter: that is latest there, ukee, pennsylvania and new jersey turnpike commissions announced they will reopen this connector bridge at 10:30 tonight. this is weeks ahead of schedule. this announcement happening in just the pennsylvania 45 minutes or so, of course, this is a huge relief to some 42,000 drivers who use this each and every day, forced to find a detour when commissions closed the bridge january 20th a cracked beam toys blame for the closure. nor pennsylvania seven weeks crews work to make rye pairs. before those repairs could could be made engineers constructed eight, 80-foot towers which supported the 1.5-s completed. a spokesperson says that two missed drilled holes each about 1 inch across and filled with welding material were the primary factors which led to this crack but turnpike commission says an exact cause will likely never be

determined. once again delaware river connector bridge reopening tonight at 10:30 which means a much easier commute for thousands tomorrow morning. we are live here in bristol pennsylvania i'm greg argos for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> greg, thank you. historical experts are combing through a construction site in olde city philadelphia after discovery of human remains and coffins. "eyewitness news" reporter anita oh is live on arch street where construction has now ground to a halt, anita. >> reporter: nicole, contractor first discovered these remains back in november , this is future home of the 116 unit apartment complex but today construction stopped as crews dug up at lee 30 remains that are century's old, we have learn that this used to be a burial ground for first baptist church of philadelphia. in an apartment complex project is now in a brief hold after construction crews found dozens of coffins in this former parking lot near second and arch street in olde city

on thursday. >> we are finding some intact coffins and we are finding remains, coffin is a loft them are in poor condition and deteriorating. >> reporter: archaeologists thought all remains, those of both children and adults have been moved to mount mariah cemetery in southwest philadelphia in 1860 but on thursday crews discovered even more. >> we really want to keep integrity of these individual coffins and it is a challenge when they are falling apart. >> reporter: lenny ryan works across the street from the construction site and given fail's history this is not surprising. >> i'm sure if they excavate add lot of this city they would find a lot more. >> reporter: after analysis is complete the plan toys reinter those remains at mount mariah cemetery in southwest philadelphia pnb property group say they will pick up those cost. i'm joined by "eyewitness news" reporter david spunt. you spent the day following up on the history of the site, what have you learned. >> reporter: remarkable history, the property behind

me, i spoke to some top historianness philadelphia and they tell me this cities yielding all new sorts of the information. after crews dug up coffins nearly 300 years old, you can bet the true history buffs rushed to the scene. >> just one of the layers of history in olde city philadelphia. >> reporter: ed major is noted advertise tore yan on philadelphia in the 1700's. he watched scene unfold with fascination, a treasure trove of new information. >> it is just wonderful when we reclaim part of our great pennsylvania in this area. one of the oldest parts of the city settled. >> reporter: first baptist church burial ground was established in 1707 the year ben franklin celebrated his first birthday. at the time arch street was mulberry street. experts believe graves are from the 1750's and were supposed to be moved before 1860 when a new building was konstantinov struck. this is an at last from 1862, an indication of the presence

will tomorrow morning as it starts to gain some strength as that energy transfers off shore, and we are starting to see snow again streaking out through southern great lakes, and right into southern new jersey and northwestern, pennsylvania. so, lets get into the timing of this breaking it down on future weather model here we will go into tomorrow morning 4:00 a.m. already seeing pretty steady snow, allentown mount pocono, reading over toward new york city. likely still quiet in philadelphia when we go on the air early tomorrow morning at 4:00 but by 5:00 a.m. that snow moves to the south. may start briefly as rain but it looks like it will be cold enough aloft that this will be mostly snow for the majority of our area, maybe a mix at outset with rain and sleet. then it pushes south. heaviest snow between six and 9:00 a.m. for city of philadelphia getting toward the shore by 9:00 o'clock. could mix with some rain down that way and then starting to taper off after 11:00 o'clock. men to the afternoon note business cold air coming in behind this low, scattered snow showers, and those

blinding snow squals will pop up through afternoon tomorrow so that could slow down the second part of your commute tomorrow. morning commute will be the war but afternoon commute likely no picnic either. how much snow are we talking here? philadelphia we have got you basically right on the 1 inch line, it is likely a coat to go a slushy inch or two on the grass, coat to go possibly an inch on the grass across south jersey and delaware. up in the lehigh valley we are looking at 3 inches, put that as over under around allentown bethlehem area five or six in the highest elevations of the poconos. after this storm it will feel brutally cold, wake up saturday morning feeling like single digits. saturday afternoon does not feel better than teens. next week another snow threat as this system races up coast still a lot of uncertainty but we have to alert you to the potential for snow on tuesday and we could be talking about significant accumulations depend connector bridge how that forms. but we have to get through this one first, and see how atmosphere respond after this storm moves out. we will have a better handle
