being felt. i'm jessica dean >> i'm ukee washington. philadelphia public schools will be open on time tomorrow. but archdiocese schools will be on a two-hour delay >> 400 closings and delays at bomb of your screen, live team coverage of the storms aftermath. we start with lauren casey who's tracking falling temperatures and also lauren, the threat of ice. >> thanks so much jessica, temperatures across the delaware valley right now are sub freezing, all of that snow, sleet we saw is now refreezing. that will create hazardous travel conditions as high temperatures will struggle, as far as the precipitation, most of that has moved off our nor'easter to the north and east a few scatter the snow showers parts of delaware like we didn't have enough today, as far as snowfall total, monroe county picking up 19 inches. lehigh county picking up over 15

inches, bethlehem 14, drexel hill five and a half inches of snowfall, more coming up in a little bit later in the show. also along the i95 corridor we saw snow. we saw sleet. we saw freezing rain, we saw an ice accumulations delaware three ten. of an inch of ice, county buy t.2, winds speeds don power lines, check out some of the rainfall totals, two, three, four inches of rain in atlantic city, breaking a daily rainfall record, and everyone despite the precipitation you saw, saw the gusty winds, well into the 40 miles per hour range, upwards of 60 miles per hour along the coast, the concern, the falling temperatures, temperatures down into the 20's, for tonight and tomorrow morning, slush and snow

freezing and icy conditions on untreated roads, use extreme caution through the day tomorrow, high temperatures aren't going to get above freezing >> if you plan to dig your car out. the snow is hard as ice because of the temperature plunge. david spunt is in allentown with more on the icy concerns. david? >> reporter: ice is the big story, a lot of snow here all 20's hours snow not falling anymore, the clean-up continues and that's why authorities and school officials have cancelled school tomorrow for a second day in a row. it's clean-up time in allentown after a snowfall that lasted almost 20 hours straight with just a few small breaks. >> there's a lot of crazy stuff going on. people can't take they are cars out. >> reporter: resident carlos a has three kids who will be home tomorrow because of the snow. he says it's the right decision.

>> anything can happen. you know what i mean? you want your kids safe and at home. >> reporter: we spotted residents digging out around town, they have a lot of snow to work with. our cameras were there in the middle of the night when the heavy stuff started to fall. >> this is horrible. >> reporter: she's lived on her allentown street since a cosmid she seen her share of storms on this street, we found her and dog outside. she says having another day off school and in some cases work just makes sense. >> they're not point taking risks. let them have a good time, give everything a little break and it isn't safe. >> reporter: i checked with officials in allentown and lehigh county. no major issues to report right now again allentown schools closed tomorrow. school offices closed just to be safe. better than sorry. reporting live david spunt cbs3 "eyewitness news." >> thank you. residents in south philly are cleaning up after the storm.

heavy snow and ice sent this tree crashing down bringing power lineses with it at 6th carpenter, no one was hurt. in west philadelphia residents were shaken when their front porch roof collapsed. thankfully they were inside. alexandria hoff has more. >> reporter: while philadelphia was not the hardest hit area given the population, the infrastructure and number of at all buildings, the snowstorm produced lasting impact >> this is the kind of clean-up that will have those digging out cars counting their blessings >> i just heard boom and i have a glass roof and it shattered. >> reporter: the weight of moisture rich snow proved too much to bear for a porch in west philadelphia >> the weight kind of weighed down >> are you guys ok in there >> residents were inside of the enjoining homes near 58 and arch

when the porches collapsed around noon, no injuries were reported. >> sitting in my office all day and watching from the window at 2 liberty as it flies by. >> safety concerns in center city sparked sidewalk closures, it's clear why. check it out around the pcp building on 16th and mark. sheets of ice fell from the sides of buildings. in the air they looked like paper but shattered with a vengeance on their way down >> i figured i'd get out a sky scrape scraper and it will be good >> rocky stairs produced a slick five tiered slope for shredders, a swift rocky ride. less legal, "eyewitness news" was there when they were interrupted by a dozen four-wheelers that climbed the art museum steps, that concluded by spinning out at our feet.

could have gone wrong quickly. police tell us they did respond to the incident but it's unclear if any citations were given out. now, for street legal vehicles, philadelphia parking authority has resumed issuing tickets to be sure to feed the meter. center city, alexandria hoff cbs3 eyewitness. utility crews working around the clock to restore power to thousands of customers across the region. delaware, the hardest hit. pounded the first state with a dangerous combination of snow sleet and rain, trees fell on homes ripping down power lines in the process, ice coated power lines snapped, more than 15,000 people are without power in new castle county alone >> today has been a lot of work. downed power lines, cold house and shovelling a lot of wet heavy snow >> horrible. we have power out. i live behind the wal-mart here, it's a mess. >> more damage in wilmington. a tree fell and crushed the car.

this happened at the merry manner trailer park. branches landed on the roof governor christie lifted the state of emergency around 6:00. coastal flooding along the jersey shore, drivers made their way through flooded street, the atlantic city fire department had to rescue one driver who got stuck in high water near the inland part of town. much of the water has receded tonight. >> school districts in berks county will be closed tomorrow. natasha brown is in west reading with the latest. >> reporter: snow stopped and the sent one time down, many began the daunting task of digging out. >> digging out for tomorrow. have to get back to work. >> did you expect her to be buried so deeply >> no. i expected it to be what it was.

spring a like a week away. it came and now it's timing. >> reporter: businesses were closed and the normally bustling penn street in west reading saw mostly folks shovelling past through several inches of snow. >> it's windy and now the snow is going to be hard to shovel. >> reporter: the berks county region felt the brunt with areas seeing more than a foot of snow >> we've been seeing a lot of falls on the ice and we expect that to continue. >> reporter: reading they seen an up tick in weather related injuries especially when it comes to shovelling >> we'll see people that come in with chest pain and heart attacks because they exert themselves doing something they're not quite used to doing. >> reporter:s those venturing out, driving proved to be tricky, others decided walking may be a bit safer >> walking was cold in the face and >> kind of brutal >> i just can't wait till this over and over. >> reporter:. >> reporter: no major

emergencies to report. people did seem to take heed and stayed inside during the height of the storm. in reading, berk county, natasha brown, cbs3 "eyewitness news." if you are trying to fly out of town tomorrow, pack your patience. airport official says philadelphia international airport will be back to normal operations tomorrow. but right now, it's pretty empty. the baggage claim is bare and the boards filled with cancelation, american and delta do have some flights but several airlines cancelled all operations today. president trump released details of his 2005 federal income tax returns, the white house said he made more than $150 million in income in 2005 and paid $38 million in income taxes that year. t disclosure. the white house pushed back claiming in statement those publishing those returns would be illegal. president trump refused to release his tax returns during

>> temperatures are just plummeting. >> that's causing a big problem, because of the snow today. freezing rain, rain in some areas and all about precipitation, no matter what type you got today. it is go going to free frees overnight. the national weather service issued the winter weather advisory, it's not for falling precipitation. falling snow, it's actually for that potential of blowing and drifting snow overnight tonight because of the strong wind speeds and the snowfall and primarily snowfall north and west of the city, this winter weather advisory runs until 6:00. trouble on the roadways throughout the overnight period through the morning commute. through much of the day tomorrow. hazardous travel. frozen slush and snow. down the shore you saw rain but your temperatures are dropping into the 20's, the ponding on the roadways, that is going to freeze over. we're going to dealing with gusty winds and the potential for blowing snow to the north and west of the city.

but seeing a little bit of a break in the cloud deck in center city philadelphia, 25 degrees west winds whipping up around 18 making it feel like 11. stormscan 3 showing us pretty quiet conditions. main precipitation to the north, now that the nor'easter ejected off to the north and east a couple of flurries trying to develop. but we have more than a couple of flurries in mount pocono. two feet of snow. the high total allentown 14 inches close to that. perkasie, 11 inches, philadelphia at the international airport, half foot. mt. holly picking up over five inch, wind gusts still elevated around 33 miles an hour in philadelphia, gusting to 35 in mount pocono, near 40 in dover, that is creating problems with the blowing snow. creating problems with that feels like temperature, feels like six below in mount pocono, feeling like four in reading. feeling like 11 degrees in philadelphia and temperatures are down into the teens in the poconos, well down into the 20's

in the lehigh valley, where we'll drop to the teens, down the shore, temperatures are sub freezing. as we led to overnight. falling down to 22, windy and frigid few flakes possible. tomorrow scattered snow showers, high temperature not making it to freezing, we're not going to do freezing, future weather, could see snow showers in the morning, scattered. not everyone going to see the snow showers, we could be dealing with snow squalls, we know the drill, they greatly reduce visibility quickly do watch out for that. for all evening commute and once we move past sunset those will start to die down, down the shore in the poconos, another bitter cold day with high temperatures not making it above the freezing mark. and only top in the teens in the poconos. as we head into thursday, we're at the freezing mark with the sunshine will help us out in the melting department and on st. patrick's day chilly with sunshine 38.
