holden, the late show poking fun at news industry during the tv snowstorm. >> let's not forget jim donovan, at one point or another, it has been you and i , as well. >> yes. >> we want to give our thanks to the collogues standing outside during those storms or stand outside at all, during the forecast, katie. >> trust me, i see the irony right there. it is so true though, you know , we have to show you what the conditions are like but yes, this is fun. this is really fun. it is really cold out here, guys, but keep in mind, winter coat, winter gear, still very much necessary and especially since yesterday in places like southern new jersey and delaware we have seen bottoming out of the thermometer. it is cold, below freezing, every where. lets walk you through all this we will take things first and foremost to storm scan three. wind, cold they are all typical qualities of the aftermath of the nor'easter and in addition another typical quality is a little bit what you are seeing on storm scan. not so much what we will see

later today but residual snow showers and squalls likely to pick up. with that said you can see retreat, exit of our large storm system. now we are dealing with wrap around moisture and chill. it is brutal stuff if you have to stand out here very long. bundle up adequately. winter weather advisory has been extended until 8:00 for all counties shaded in that purple. it is in places for the most part that saw winter storm warnings as well as blizzard warnings yesterday where we piled up that snow. you may see additional squalls , 2 inches, but that may be scattered. temperatures currently are in the 20's, but it feels more like, single digits anytime wind blows. so make sure, again, that you are bundling up adequately and keep in mind anything that looks wet even if you saw primarily a rain storm yesterday, it has since had chance to freeze back over. this is an idea what you will see rest of this morning or through the day, travel will remain pretty hazardous.

i will say probably better then yesterday but you have to be on your guard for frozen, slush, snow on the untreated roadways and off ramps. i'm sure you are seeing that black ice in the cameras. >> yes, we certainly are. we are seeing problems because of that black ice, we were talking about this morning. i will tell you, as well because it is so cold, the exhaust, will probably, it will probably melt that ice on the roadways but then refreeze right away. just a head up, it will be very slick out there because of that we are having some problems, delaware county we have an accident baltimore pike is closed both directions between fair view and, you will to have use an alternate. route 926 or street road is your best bet. by the way, the boulevard, southbound approaching schuylkill we have a disable vehicle here as well. we also have another one, on i-95 south at cottman pulled off to that left lane. just a head up we are having some problems, not sure if this has anything to do with the slick conditions, but we are seeing a lot of activity, already this morning and around 5:30 this morning on a

wednesday would i say we are seeing more than what we typically do. if you can stay at home today you will want to. if you have to go out, it gets easy and then we have got some activity here, church street closed at pleasant valley avenue your alternate pleasant valley avenue because of down traffic signal and down wires, as well, rahel and jim, back over to you. this morning many streets are still covered with snow. >> and it appears not to be going anywhere anytime soon. jan carabao is outlooking at several neighborhood throughout philadelphia, now in mayfair, so what are you seeing there. >> reporter: jim and rahel you said it best, snowstorm may be gone but snow left behind isn't going anywhere anytime soon because wet, heavy snow that fell yesterday with the frigid temperatures overnight, it has frozen into a block of ice. we are coming to you live, just off of frankford avenue, this is gilliam street this is what people will be waking up to today. they have not moved their cars out of this area and they seem

to be plowed in. i want to give you another look at how rock solid that ice thinks morning. they will to have build in extra time to get out here and maybe have an ice pick to get their car out. a plow has been down this street. you can see blacktop here but what is left behind is this hard barrier that a lot of cars will have a lot of problems getting around. gilliam street is looking okay , eye plow has come down but still very slick at the intersection and down the street you can see this glaze. that is all ice. this is very slippery. we have been coming through this area all morning long from port richmond, frankford, now to mayfair we are seeing same thing. getting out here on the highways not bad at all. they are clear. main arteries like frankford avenue pretty good but side streets like gilliam street that will give you problems and some don't look this good. just a lot of packed snow, ice , sidewalks very slippery, as well, we were able to speak to a couple early morning rise

hours say getting up, getting out today no fun at all, take a listen. >> yeah, it was serious. i had a lot of trouble getting out, especially down north it wasn't easy. >> reporter: why didn't you shovel. >> drive a little car. >> was it icy. >> yes, it was really bad. >> reporter: so those are conditions here this morning, at philadelphia school children will be getting up and out to class on time today , no delays. a lot of sidewalks will be giving them problems, this one , not too bad. you can see the pavement here but then you come upon spots like this that have a little bit of moisture left over and whatever moisture was left over last night is very slippery, very icy and we do want to say sidewalks we have been seeing don't look as good as this one. so build in extra time because not only will road be slow go but you have to definitely keep your eye on on

counties, like here, in the live neighborhood network but we will bring you back to our eyewitness weather watcher network where we have folks up and reporting this morning. it is chilly, outside. we will take a look at coldest spots here and one comes in from fran, this morning. he has a couple cloud in nottingham, westerly wind flow at 10 miles an hour, currently but he did mention it did see drifting of the snow through overnight. so that may cause some issues, trying to travel through that, certainly blowing in the roadways. we will go just one county over, and take a look what is happening in new castle count which greg mccoy in marshall ton with cloud overhead, it is cold, feeling very, very better. he said a couple folks are without power in his area as well. one more, lets go inside to central, new jersey, ed, one of our most loyal weather watchers reporting clear skies , it is cold, 22 degrees and watch ice. he takes his dog casey for multiple walks in the morning.

if you have anything to do outside this morning, many just to have get back to the routine fit looks wet, it is frozen solid and that goes foreign spots that saw primarily a rain storm out of this yesterday because look at this, you had temperatures way too warm yesterday in places like, sussex, kent counties, southern new jersey for much more than then a heavy rain. we had expected that for most of the storm system but now you have dropped off, almost 20 degrees if not 20 since this same time yesterday. it is cold, so storm is pulling away but snow showers and squalls will take place. we have a wind advisory for gusts as high as 45 across southeastern half of the area including philadelphia notice it does not ease up from here at best in the 40's which is still below average, meisha for weekend. >> yeah, all right katie, speaking of that ice producer steve lindsey and i were talking about this earlier. it can get trapped under wheel wells or on top of the big tractor trailer flatbed tops and that can come down following behind other vehicles.

so just a head up, if your car , jittering, shaking weird as you drive it, it could be ice under those tire wheels or keep a safe distance from the tractor trailers and other vehicles because isis a factor and it will be playing a factor how we maneuver. we have an accident here chad ford delaware county, baltimore pike is closed between fair view and webb road. your alternate 926 or street road is your best bet around this take a look, crews out there hard at work but all you see is ice and it that is hard ice. disabled vehicle here 95 south at cottman. we have an accident in new jersey, they are directing traffic cook road and route 551 between lee avenue and george drive your alternate is route 49 to get around that closure, jim, over to you. it is probably good idea to have your carpet decleaned every couple years but you don't want to hire a carpet cleaner every time you spill something n this weeks angie's list report home remedy for tackling the tough carpet stains.

>> reporter: different stains call for different solutions but it is always important to act quickly. >> but don't be too hasty, make sure you are using the right tool, use a dry, clean, cloth and blot, don't rub in the stain because it might lead to a lasting stain. >> reporter: removing blood can be challenging but it can be done. >> if the blood coagulated and started to clump take a spoon or a very dull type of industry, a butter knife something of that nature and remove it first and then start to blot it out with soap and water solution. >> reporter: use cold water for blood stains but most other stains call for warm water, mixed with a quarter cup of dish washing liquid. don't cry over a spilled red wine. >> red wine can be one of the toughest stains but it can be solved. what you need to do is first blot the spot where the red wine has been spilled and then if you sprinkle white wine on top of the red wine you will improve your chances of getting that spot out.
