although i will say moving in the westbound direction, seeing some brake lights, jump on the schuylkill. westbound side, might be slowing down little bit quicker than the eastbound side this morning. but overall, everyone is traveling at posted speeds. we do have some snow removal out there, pa turnpike norristown, we'll cover it when we come back in a little bit. >> new this morning, bizarre case unfolding in philadelphia's overbrook neighborhood. >> driver found a man who had already been shot under this mini-van. bizarre indeed. out to jan carabeo live near the scene. jan, what do you know so far? >> reporter: rahel, jim, good morning, this man tells police he was driving home when sinnedly he says he felt like his van was dragging something. so he pulled over in a driveway, right behind me here, got out, took a look, and saw a body underneath his vehicle. police and medics were called, turns out, the victim had been shot. he was pronounced dead on the scene. you can see her this morning that police are still on scene investigating exactly what happened. and we're now just told the

body has been removed from the scene for the investigation. the gruesome discovery was made just before midnight here in the 1,000 block of north 68th street. police actually responded for a report after pedestrian being hit by a car. when they got here, they found that victim lying in the driveway, but realized he had also been shot at least once in the head. medics again pronounced him dead here at the scene. now, during the investigation, police say, it appears that the victim was dragged about 100 feet before the driver pulled into the driveway and noticed the body. police are now calling this a homicide. detectives found number of spent shell casings here at the scene as they continue to investigate. they're now also conducting interviews. take a listen. >> driver of the mini-van remained on location. he is fully cooperating with police. he has been transported to homicide where he is being investigated and vint viewed by homicide detectives. >> now, at this point, police have not commented on a possible motive. they've also not talked about

any suspect. this is all still developing, as this investigation continues. and also, detective tell us, it is a bizarre scenario, a driver, just making his way home, comes to find out he was dragging a body, the victim had been shot in the head. we'll continue to follow this story. live in overbrook, jan carabeo, "eyewitness news," rahel, jim, back to you. >> horrible, thank you, jan. >> snowstorm may be over but falling ice continues to pose danger in center city. ice first scene falling from skyscrapers on market street on wednesday. since then, there have been more and more sitings. people walking in center city, reported close calls. >> what did you just see? >> about a 10-pound piece of ice fall about 6600 feet. >> i saw there was couple of pieces that dropped about a minute ago and it came down with a crash. >> the sidewalks are open on east market street, but we're told police will be back out today as temperatures warm up even more. >> march madness is underway and the villanova wildcats are

>> massive five alarm fire last night in downtown raleigh, north carolina fire broke out shortly before 10:00 . people who liver in the area were evacuated, by 1:00 a.m. the fire continued to burn but appeared to be under control. there are no reports of any injuries. new york sit emt is dead after being hit and then dragged by a stolen ambulance on thursday. >> investigators say, two emt stopped their ambulance in the bronx after being alert add man was riding on the back of it. according to officials, theyce o see what was going on, and the man went around the other side and hopped in the driver seat. at that point he they say the two emt's tried to stop the man from driving off. but he struck one of them and ran over the other.

it might as well be summertime, right? you're right. still cold outside. certainly great example that far outside we go here to pleasant valley middle high school. off in the distance, not sure, i would assume it does look right now like they've had chance to clear the way here for the school buses to come on out. usually see them going into single file out of the campus here right around 7:00 a.m. but 23 degrees is the temperature here. obviously still snow on the ground. this is a spot up at product heads ville, carbon monaco county, see additional snow potentially here tonight that accumulates, and the reason for that is this little guy. now, i will say, technically it is a clipper coming in from the north and west, little more robust in it moisture content than what we would typically see. so we again could see very modest accumulation, out of the snow that this produces, but you notice, even back toward iowa, wisconsin, illinois, there is some rain that is breaking out with this, so there is some warmth trying to build back in. what it tends to lead to is mixing. so rain, snow, very likely a little bit of sleet comes our

way. now this doesn't get here until later tonight. like later on tonight. so, i think you're going to get your entire day without any hitches, but toward the time the sun going down clouds begin to build, then for the overnight, starting 2:00 a.m. but by get underway i mean far cry from what broke out tuesday. obviously. u 2 inches fall in the poconos, but that's small ticket compared to the nearly 2 feet ewbew days ago, possibly quick coating specially north and west suburbs, with that said, seven day forecast reflect i wouldn't call it major warm up but warming trend in the next couple of days. watch for the light wintery mix to build in here late tonight, into most of tomorrow, maybe a lingering snow shower sunday morning, then as we kick offspring officially, meisha, hey actually close to average for a change. >> yes, warming trends, we will take t thanks so much, and good morning. so looking great. now we have some problem spots

out there. this is one of them n norristown, 202 north at main street. you can see this vehicle veered right off the street. not quite sure of the back story here, but we are dealing with ice, not as much as what we've been seeing earlier this week, but currently still seeing ice on the roadways, especially pulled off to the shoulder, on the bridges, the bridges, sidewalks, side streets, smaller street. all of that. we will be seeing those icy patches. so just heads up. be careful, if the quite sure of this particular accident, but you can see it on the roadways, i want positive point it out. again norristown 202 north at main street. jersey, creek road, approach 295, looking there, looking pretty darenow removal still. pa turnpike virginia drive in norristown, then also have construction out there, as well, old york road at butler avenue, roads blocked there. all the way until 7:00 a.m. to the tip of our rush hour. >> thank you, and today we celebrate saint patrick's day. >> at the white house the water in the fountain has been

>> looking ahead to very quiet saint patrick's day, for one thing you'll see sunshine, and temperatures easing up, also, experience less after windchill. but, a couple every saint patrick's day just tid-bits for you, the rain yes, sir saint patrick's day we ever experienced back in 93. the most snowy back in 2014. i remember being on the air with the snow falling, ended up with 5 inches of snow that day, the coldest all the way back in 1885. we do not have a prayer of hitting the warmest day as i'm sure you can imagine, when we got all the way into the 80s. not happening today. but at least it is less harsh than recent days. storm scan, nice and quiet, all clear, see sunshine throughout the daylight hours. overnight new little disturbance will zip right in here, bring with it very light wintery mix, lasts us into saturday, i don't think that we have to worry about much if any accumulation, especially south of the city. but you could see maybe quick coating in the northwest suburbs, of some light snow, maybe little sleet. >> yes, okay, great snow.

katie, thank you so much. right now, speaking of some snow, what we're dealing with outside, the elements this morning, you can see we saw ice on the roadways, not only that, that might pose some problems, accident northbound, 202 north at main street, vehicle went right off the road. if i'm not mistaken, very, very close to that pole. now, i will say because in the shot, heads up, a lot of ice still out there, not as bad as what we've seen all week, but still out there, especially pulled off to the shoulders on the side streets, the sidewalks, the bridges, that sort of thing. also, we have this going on. some snow removal. so clearly a lot of snow is still out there. seeing a lot of the crews out there, take it easy traveling by. pa turnpike between virginia driver and norristown, again for snow removal. also the construction crews out there, as well, so 611 old york road at butler avenue. lanes will be block there all the way until 7:00 a.m. so, it is the beginning of the heart of the rush on a friday morning, this is when this would just be ending, so for those every in you that neck of the woods, heads up. more to come in about ten

>> eye, where are me lucky charles? here we go. well, you know, arr? whatever works. where is the parrot? we need a parrot in here. >> get me outta here! roadways looking real nice this morning, with that being said, don't think for a second that the ice, in fact, seeing action out there. >> still better but not completely eliminated but i'll say i went through a stop sign at 15th and callowhill, so it is definitely getting better, absolutely, yes. that's definitely something to smile upon here for sure. but looking at storm scan, all is calm, my friends, under the nice clear sky, temperatures going to just drop off a lot more eye fish endly. no where near as winnie. in fact the wind very, very light. nothing more than five, 10 miles per hour at this point. so, we've got that going for us. but with that said, actual air temperatures are either at or below freezing, still, across the board. that does mean that you're not going to see too much melting get underway at least not yet. i thinkod
