just when you thought we may be thawing out the chance of more snow it's way for some areas, what you can expect a dusting this weekend and who could see accumulating snow. also at 5c fire rips through two large shore houses in south jersey, we will show you damage and where it happened down the shore. another disheartening story -- department stories closing why jc penny plans to lick dade some locations across the country including local stores here in pennsylvania and in new jersey all of those stories are straight ahead on "eyewitness news" bye first it may not be the heavy helping of snow that we had earlier this week but we are not in the clear just yet from this winter weather g afternoon, i'm jessica dean.

aim ukee washington some snow may be on the way tonight , and low temperatures are staying with us. meteorologist lauren casey is in for kate bilo in the weather center. actually she's outside on the sky deck. hi there lauren.utside on the >> you never know where i will pop up, right now it is on the sky deck. it is not too bad. i have my blazer, going without jacket. i will only be out here a couple minutes but temperatures some of the warmest of the week right now we had that sunshine as well, 44 degrees in philadelphia. forty-two in allentown. we are at 48 degrees in atlantic city. as we look at storm scan three though showing us nice clear skies, we had all throughout the day-to-day, quickly fade ago way and that cloud deck is decreasing behind me. you will notice some returns on the radar, just to our south and west, and that will be moving, our way, as we head into the overnight period. winter weather advisory has been issued north and west, 6:00 a.m. tomorrow to 6:00 a.m. sunday for berks county, lehigh valley and

poconos but we will have a chance of wintry type precipitation, across much of the area but for tonight, do watch out for areas of black ice, redeveloping, and we will talk more about the chance for some snowfall, coming up in your full forecast in just a few minutes, guys. >> lauren, we will see in a bit, thank you. two water front homes go up in flames and authorities are working to pinpoint what caused the fire. it happened this morning near corner of segal and pull again drive-in avalon. "eyewitness news" reporter cleve bryan has a look at the damage. >> it is just so sad. >> reporter: two bay front homes in avalon destroyed friday morning. >> palmyra, i had a body of fire between two buildings involved behind me here, and the occupants were all out of the one dwelling, the other dwelling was vacant. >> reporter: fire was reported just before 8:00 a.m. from six segal drive which is blue house, officials say at lee three people were at home but all got out safely.

avalon fire fighters started spraying water and foam, but quickly needed backup. almost a dozen departments from throughout cape may county worked together so crew s could get enough water on the fire. >> biggest reason being that we had lay the supply line from ocean drive which is almost a mile drop of hose. >> reporter: officials say wind was relatively calm and think close proximity is likely what caused fire to spread from the occupied house , to 47 pelican drive next door. which officials say is an unoccupied vacation home. >> all of a sudden there is smoke, everything coming out of the house. >> reporter: nancy, lives across the street, and she knows wine family that lives at six segal and feels heart broken for their loss. >> just have to tear down, just terrible. they have all of their memories who. i will cry. because that is too sensitive. i will say prayers for them. >> reporter: late in the afternoon crews were working to put out hot spots even though fire was brought under control by 9:00 a.m. officially the causes still under investigation.

in avalon i'm cleve bryan, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". philadelphia police are investigating shooting death of a man whose body was later run over by an unsuspecting driver, victim was found just before midnight in an alley near 1,000 block of north 68th street in overbrook. the 51 year-old driver told police he felt something under his car and when he stopped to look he discovered body that man had been shot in the head, police say that driver is cooperating, victim's identity has not been released. a freight train crashes in to a car sitting on the tracks in north philadelphia, take a look at the scene from chopper three. that crash happened just after 7:00 near 3400 block of west west moreland street. fire officials say that the car was empty at the time of the crash and no one on the train was hurt. authorities are now trying to figure out why the car was left on the track. more than 100jc penny stores are closing or relocating and impacting 5,000 people who are employed by the company nationwide. four stores in our area are

included, the locations at king of prussia mall, willow grove park and philadelphia mills in philadelphia. and in new jersey, the location at rio grande plaza shopping center. "eyewitness news" reporter alycia nieves joins us now with details on when the stores will lock their doors, alycia? >> reporter: well, ukee, jc penny plans to close 138 locations including one here at king of prussia mall by this june. the company even plans to start liquidation sale, liquidating all of the merchandise in the stores in just a few weeks. just hours ago jc penny became latest retailer to officially announce it is shuttering stores, closing 138 locations. news surprising to some local shoppers. >> jc pennys is another store where you could go in and get really great deals and good quality it seemed like. i was actually shocked. >> i'm a little shocked as much as in the store as much as they do on line. >> reporter: jc penny says

closures are part of the continuing effort to advance the sustainable growth and long term profitability, which for some shoppers, that is still translateness to brick and mortar department store struggling with on line competition. >> a lot of the deals you fine on the store you will fine better deals on line. so, you know i'm all for internet but it is tough for people losing jobs. >> reporter: 5,000 jobs are in jeopardy, jc penny says it will try to relocate some employees and offer early retirement to others. as for the actual retail stores though, like the one at king of prussia, it is a big question as to what, if anything, will fill the void, that they leave behind. >> i'm kind of thinking what will take its place, if anything, because then you just see big vacant areas in these malls and it just makes it feel like it is the start of a down fall, almost. >> reporter: we did reach out to king of prussia mall, official whose said they have no comment on what will fill the void that jc penny will leave behind and with the

president trump is not backing down from his explosive wiretapping allegations. what he said to the german chancellor today that is adding more fuel to the scandal. them? >> reporter: we sure will. ted cruz is critic of the plan at the moment, american health care act but he is also trying to be a rescuer of that effort , talking to the white house, talking to members on the hill on the house side, and he is a senator so he is going over to the other side and try to convince them that they can put together a package that can get republican support in the house and senate, and then, become law. so we will talk to him about all of that and obviously nancy pelosi on the other side of things not just talking about health care with her but also, the latest, wiretapping information. she's a part of the gang of eight which is congressional leaders that get the most sensitive intelligence information and then obviously president put out a budge this week and nancy pelosi has thoughts about that. she's not a fan. >> yeah, i heard. on that note you will talk to nick muscle veney, director of office of management and budget, at center of this budget proposal which as you know seeks to cut millions in funding to some agencies and

give historic boosts to the military. so what new perspective do you hope to gain from him this weekend. >> that is right, we don't want to put on just a critic of nancy pelosi without giving administration its chance to speak to. what i'm most interested in om b director nick muscle vein hoy just came from congress is what is philosophy at center of the president's budget. budgets where numbers and philosophy. so what is he saying about what the federal government should do, and in a time of scarcity. there is a 20 trillion-dollar budget deficit, so obviously federal government cannot pay for everything. how does it choose what to pay for and what not to pay for. president is making big, big changes in what the federal government does. this is a historic shift. not just about numbers, but what a country decide to spend its money on and for whom, is really a big deal and the president had some big thoughts about that and we will go through all of that with nick muscle vein.

well, it is st. patrick's day and many will celebrate with irish festivities and lots of green, food and drink. >> health reporter stephanie stahl is here with more on safety concerns, about consuming items that contain green dye which is used a lot, yes. >> reporter: green stuff every where. there has been discussion about safety of artificial food coloring, it is regulated by f.d.a. and agency says that the food dye is safe but some groups disagree, and still most experts say that having a

little bit that you will consume on st. patrick's day should be just fine. green beer, a st. patrick's day tradition for many, all kind of green treats will be on the menu to celebrate irish pride, and many will be made with green dye, artificial food coloring that has been linked to cancer in animals and behavioral problems in children who have a sensitivity to the dyes but is there debate about the science on dyes and how much might be just too much. >> on st. patrick's day if you have a treat that has, some green food coloring in it you will not experience any negative healthy affects but keep it to a minimum. >> reporter: green food dye is found in things like breakfast cereals, cookies, cakes, doughnuts, dietitions says those types of food contain a lot of sugar and fat, healthier st. patrick's day celebrating will focus more on items that are naturally green >> i'm really trying to focus on those food that are naturally bright in colors that you get vitamin and

tomorrow to 6:00 a.m. sunday. best chance of precipitation across the area will be late saturday night and early sunday. lehigh valley, berks county, poconos under that advisory where can see the most accumulating snow but not significant for many. for upcoming weekend slow moving storm system starts as wintry mix in the city, late tonight, early tomorrow morning best chance will be late saturday night and we could see some accumulations, again most of those minor across the area, from the storm system but for this evening, big increase in cloud , cool, quiet with a temperature in the lower 40's. overnight tonight dropping down to that near freezing mark, wintry mix developing late but it will be well pennsylvania midnight. friday night plans we should be okay. for upcoming weekend we have had brief wintry mix changing over to rain, tomorrow's temperatures warm up to 46. sunday we could see lingering morning snow shower and as we head in the afternoon high temperatures high temperatures in the 40's. future weather showing us throughout the overnight here come the cloud and
