get busy progressing through the morning. we will let you know when crew s are out or stop construction. but just a head upright now, be mindful and careful of them we have more construction in new jersey 295 northbound between 47 and route 42, one to two lanes block this will hold until 6:00 a.m. and more construction in cherry hill on route 70. now this one i see if i want get there route zero seven between springdale road and new jersey turnpike in both directions one lane blocked in the 6:00 a.m. rahel, over to you. it is story everyone is talking about philadelphia's top prosecutor, find himself on the wrong side of the law. >> district attorney seth williams is expected to surround tore day to face nearly two dozen corruption charges. lets get details from "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabao live from the federal courthouse in center city, good morning, jan. >> reporter: jim and rahel, good morning. seth williams is scheduled for his arraignment here in the federal courthouse around 2:00 a 23 count indictment, on a number of charges, including

bribery, and extortion. lets take a look at the video, last time we saw the d.a. seth williams, announcing he wouldn't run for a third term following ethics violations. this time williams is back in the spotlight facing federal charges. he is accused of taking tens of thousands of dollars worth of concealed bribes from two business owners, in exchange for his agreement to perform official acts. in the 50 page indictment, prosecutors say that this pattern of activity stretched on for years, they say williams had multiple dealings with an associate, listed in the indictment, that has business owner number one beginning in 2010. according to the indictment for access to his office, williams accepted a $4,800 paid trip to punta cana and less than $1,600 in airline tickets, williams allegedly wrote in the text message to business owner number one quote i'm merely a thankful beggar and don't want to over step my bound in asking but we will gladly go but perhaps most troubling allegation has to do with defrauding a

nursing home. prosecutors say williams put $10,000 in his own account that was supposed to go to the relative's nursing home expenses. authorities say williams took the entire 10 grand for personal use. >> mr. williams simply took money that did not belong to him and then lied bit. president williams diverted his relatives pension and social security payments to his self to pay for his own personal expenses. >> reporter: you see there, new jersey authorities are prosecuting the case, and u.s. attorney in philadelphia says he reaccused his office from the investigation, to avoid any perception of a conflict of interest with williams who is, of course, philadelphia's top prosecutor. coming up in our next half an hour, hear from a former philadelphia d.a. about what seth williams should do right now. as for williams an attorney for him says he is innocent of these charges and he will fight them in court. we are reporting live, outside the federal courthouse jan

carabao for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". jim and rahel, back to you. several candidates running to be the next philadelphia district attorney shared their thoughts on the criminal charges against williams. some democrats and one republican, are running to be the next chief law enforcement officer for the city. the alleged corruption under current d.a. williams tainted the role which has created the challenge for the next d.a. "eyewitness news" caught up with a few of those running hoping to rebuild the public's trust. >> a few big surprises. i expected some of the bribery and pay to play and corruption stuff but stuff about the nursing home fraud was disturbing. >> when we have a one party system it really lead to sadly to complacently and corruption , and the fact that it is found, found its way in the district attorney's office is just truly shock to go me. >> this is very sad for this city in light of what has happened with our attorney general and now with our district attorney hoist now under indictment, by a federal grand jury. it is time for city to have new leadership. i call on seth williams to resign immediately. >> philadelphia's mayor jim

pennsylvania's 197th district are registered democrats. the president is giving g.o.p. lawmakers an ultimatum support a bill to repeal obama care or lose your seats. president trump warned the group they will lose their majorities in congress if they don't pass the health care bill. mr. trump spoke to g.o.p. leaders at a private meeting on capitol hill yesterday. he warned many currently holding seats would lose their spots, if this effort fails. >> these are the conservative solutions, we campaigned on. we are keeping our promise. >> stand with our president, and vote to end this obama care nightmare once and for all. >> some conservative is still were not completely sold on the idea, president reportedly singled outlaw makers who opposed the bill. mr. trump told a representative from north carolina quote i'm going to come after you. now for first of the kind lawsuit in pennsylvania a local high school student, is suing his school district, saying his privacy rights were violated by sharing a locker

room with a transgender student. the 11th grader at boyer town area high school said he felt sexually harassed when he and other male students were forced to start sharing a locker room with a girl who identifies as a boy. the school district refused to comment on his locker room policy. no one was injured after flames ripped through this home overnight in west philadelphia it happened on the 5,000 block of haverford avenue just after 1:00 this morning. fire fighters battled the blaze for about 30 minutes before bringing it under control. the cause of the fire remains under investigation. police in burlington county, new jersey investigating gunfire that left one man dead. chopper three over the scene in pemberton just before 9:00 last night. at this time it is unclear how that vehicle you see there was involved in the incident. so far no arrests have been made. well, pepsi says it will no longer sell certain products in philadelphia because of the cities tax on sweet drinks. that includes 2-liter bottles and 12 packs of pepsi, mountain due, gator raid and

flow more than anything but what i want you to watch here is not even necessarily the temperatures watch color contours, this map is about to get a lot darker because colder air is moving. so from 4:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. it turns a darker shade of blue and purple and these are the actual temperatures back in the 30's even by the time we go off the air here at 7:00 o cbs this morning. it will be a very cold day, throughout the time that the sunnies up and shining brightly. you cannot take it at face value. these are temperatures that are expected on the thermometer but then we have to factor in the wind which will be whipping as high as 35 . so even though techniquely it is cold anyway we are expecting gusts up to 35 miles an hour meaning it won't feel much better than 20's for majority of the day. it is deceptive when we walk outside the door but hopefully we will walk out with the heavy winter coat because you will thank yourself later. then look at that warm up. we keep exceeding our
