in the heart of the london, a driver went on a deadly rampage mowing down pedestrians before authorities , said he fatally stabbed a parliament guard. when it was all over four people were killed including the alleged attacker, 20 others were hurt. good evening i'm jessica dean. i'm nicole brewer in for ukee washington. new details are emerging from those chaotic moments authorities say that the suspect rampage began on the west minister bridge, he hit several pedestrians, killing two tourist. >> suv later crashed in the gates of the parliament nearby , police say man killed an officer on guard before he was fatally shot by responding officers. just a short time ago british prime minister teresa may condemned the attack. >> these events provide a particular reminder of the exceptional bravery of our police and security services who risked their lives to keep us safe. >> the suspect has yet to be identified. authorities believe he acted alone but they are investigation continues

tonight. and our coverage continues now as "eyewitness news" reporter david spunt is live at philadelphia international airport where he spoke with some travel's arriving from london, david? >> reporter: gentlemen, jessica people coming in from heathrow over last hour and a half. we have seen three flights from london to philadelphia. i want to point out that these folks were already in the air for a few hours when this happened this morning. london time, or rather this afternoon london time but people were upset to hear news , there were several people that told me they had w ifi, in flight wifi they were following that closely, most of these people found out when they landed, some folks even found out when we told them bit. i spoke to a family that didn't wanting to on camera but they were not far from parliament just yesterday crossing that same bridge where many tourist take pictures and very popular bridge over the river tam toss get that shot of the big ben and parliament, those folks, they didn't want to speak but they were upset by what

news" at 6:00. philadelphia district attorney seth williams goes before a federal judge and plead not guilty to bribery and extortion charges. today's court appearance comes just one day after federal authorities unveiled a 50 page indictment, against williams. joe holden is live outside federal court with today's developments, joe. >> reporter: good evening, that not guilty plea is just the start on this legal voyage for seth williams, still the question tonight it appeared to be settled by his attorney that there will be no resignation by seth williams as december trick attorney of philadelphia. seth williams offered pleasant ry toss news cameras on the way into federal court. >> good afternoon. >> reporter: among the 14th floor the smiles continue, williams and his attorney appeared to joke about the source of water provided by the court. philadelphia's district attorney pleaded not guilty to a damming federal indictment, that could carry decade of prison time if williams was convicted. hearing lasted all of 10

minutes, one thing williams an elect public official did not do was take a single question. the security detail ushered him in and out of court using doors where there were no reporters. a grand injury a alleged williams participated in a several years long pattern of bribery, extortion, and wire fraud. his lawyer condemns calls for williams to resign his office. >> this indictment is 24 hours old and yet too many politicians and commentators have already tried and convicted seth williams in the media. simply because the government makes explosive allegationness a complaint. >> reporter: federal magistrate set williams bond at $50,000 including travel restrictions, before leaving court, seth williams also met with u.s. marshals. the total cost of his alleged scheme, just under $110,000. >> seth williams categorically denies, categorically denies that he is guilty of any crime

"eyewitness news" reporter cleve bryan is in lindenwald where he spoke to shaken neighbors. >> i just can't believe this. i mean how could this happen. >> reporter: neighbors in dis belief after learning twin infants were discovered unresponsive at this lindenwald apartment and later

pronounced dead. >> it is just tearful, like it is just hurt because i have a one year-old. >> reporter: neighbors identified this distraught woman whom police escorted from the apartment as baby's mother. >> i'm just shocked. i'm just so shocked. i even held one of the babies. >> reporter: police say cause of the death is still under investigation. they released the 911 call which we warn you you may find disturbing. >> the mother told dispatch she tried cpr unsuccessfully and 911 operators walk her through how to try it again until police arrived three minutes later. virtua doctor pronounced them dead at 8:30 after not being able to find vital signs. >> she was screaming, like she was crying really bad, and they put her in the back of the cop car and i saw them bring out bags, you know, body

bags and stuff. it is just horrible. >> reporter: after confirming deaths camden county prosecutor's office not saying at this point whether they believe these were accidental deaths, or if they are looking at this as homicide, they say the medical examiner's office is doing further testing. in lindenwald i'm cleve bryan, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". we have learn tonight that former phillies manager dallas green, who coached the team to their first ever world series title back in 1980 has passed away. >> sports director don bell, he is joining with us more on this don. >> big loss for the organization and for the city of philadelphia dallas green was one of the most beloved figures in phillies history. you name it, he dit. player, coach, manager, scout, farm director, gm, and team president. overall green spent 62 years in baseball and 46 of them with the philadelphia phillies he broke into the business as a pitcher back in 1960 but he is most known for his work as a manager.

in 1980 he led phillies to their first ever world series title. he managed with brute strength , a yeller, screamer. players hated him but somehow they all made it work. the phillies released a statement saying we mourn loss of the dallas green. phillies have lost a great man , wonderful friend, our thoughts, prayers are with his family. green survived by his wife of 59 years, four children and five grandchildren. dallas green was 82 years old. coming up later in sports we will hear from one of the dallas former players, the bull, drug lou sin ski. >> wow, the city and team like you said. >> absolutely. >> thanks, don. tonight is the search is on for a clumsy burglar caught on camera in north philadelphia. it shows suspect hold tongue a window screen and scaling wall of a business. the screen, suddenly gave way and he fell hard to the ground this happened on the 900 block of sedgley avenue on saturday. the alleged thief eventually

well, tonight power of puppy love on the healthwatch how pets can ease stress, and make people happy. health reporter stephanie stahl is here with more on a special pet visit to day to a philadelphia hospital. >> this ace good one get ready to smile. taking care of sick people can be especially stressful, and difficult, and so in the middle of the hectic day at the hospital what could be better then visiting with pets who are looking for new homes magenta the month-old puppy gets lots of love from people that work at pennsylvania hospital. >> it can be emotionally challenging to work in the environment such as a hospital >> reporter: hospital stress takes a break when puppies from rescue shelters come for a visit hoping to be adopted. >> we have a lot of fun. our animals have fun. zoo times they get adopted here. it is great for both side. >> reporter: magenta and her siblings are a star attractions for this paws for

pennsy event. >> i think it is wonderful because it serves the need of both of these puppies and our community and people that work in the hospital. >> reporter: doctor jeremy so door adopt add a lab mix and they named her clover. >> pretty stressful field. there is concern about burnout and well-being of the people taking care of the patients and people hoff, pets are all protect from those negative symptoms. >> reporter: this visit also included some older animals and kittens. >> there is lots of scientific evidence that shows, time spent with animals is great for stress. it has been a success. >> reporter: so adorable. now rescue animals don't interact with patients but the hospital does have a program where especially trained service dogs, vice witt people who are hospitalized. how much fun difficult get to have today when i got play with the puppies. >> yes. >> so adorable. >> not a bad gig. >> all right, thanks, stephanie. local restaurant in south philadelphia has donated more than $10,000 to support military families.

>> "eyewitness news" was there at chickie and pete's crab fr ies for military heroes presented a check to the travis manion foundation all to benefit veterans and families of the fallen. travis manion foundation will use money to provide assistance to veterans and to mentor at risk youth. that is wonderful. it makes you think about crab fries, being at the ballpark maybe, enjoying the boardwalk, yes. >> let's go straightforward. >> we're not quite there yet. >> it doesn't feel like it yet >> it doesn't. february was so nice. >> early spring. >> but then it got taken away rudely by march. now march has a lit built of the rebound at lee one day. nice, warm spring weather. we will take one day if that is all we can get we can take one day. looking outside shows a beautiful looking sky, in the poconos. we have these longer days now, we have got sun shining until well after 7:00 o'clock. that is making it feel more like spring but if you stepped outside today it is not all that warm outside. in the poconos it is in the

lower 20's. it feels like the teens, dropping down in the teens and even single digits in some spots tonight but plenty of snow at jack frost big boulder , we are extending the ski and snow board season which is good news for people doing recreational activities this weekend perhaps. storm scan three high pressure in control is bringing us clear skies but we have to watch this front right here. warm front lifting through that is what will bring up the warmth for weekend but will also bring threat for rain with the cold front coming through on sunday. take a look at almanac as i did a double take when i saw this pop up. our high 53. sound great. here's the catch, that was at midnight. temperatures dropped behind the front as cold air came in. our afternoon high was only 51 it doesn't look that bad but it was, only 40's in the afternoon. we will hit that at midnight. officially 2 degrees below average as far as high was concerned but definitely felt colder then that today. we got one day above the normal yesterday, we will add a few more in the weekend but we are cold, for now as we head through overnight hours

11:00 o'clock feels like 15 in philadelphia. sub zero in the poconos. but watch as we head into tomorrow morning. right around sunrise 7:00 a.m. is coldest part of the day but it is actually feeling a degree warmer because wind will die down overnight and then tomorrow still feel chilly, still feels like around 40 but better than today because less wind, makes all of the difference this time of the year. overnight we're clear, everything looking fine, tomorrow through midday, clear skies, full day of sunshine, beautiful day, we have strong march sun only in the mid 40's and won't feel too bad. cloud roll in tomorrow night and here comes that warm front starting as light wintry mix in the far northern western suburbs but more likely scattered rain showers here in the city in the afternoon. that front sets up shop to the north and saturday, cloudy, but it is warm with temperatures on their way in the 70's thanks to the southwest win. overnight bitterly cold, wind do die down. tomorrow ace not as harsh as today, cold at 45 degrees, 10 degrees below average but

we mourn loss of the philadelphia icon. dallas green has died at the age of 82. he managed phillies to their first world series title in 1980.

overall, he spent more than four decade with the team, in various rolls. this afternoon we spoke to one of his former players, the bull, greg luzinsky. >> can say enough good things about him. i know a lot of people, you know, thought he was, well, he was tough. he was. but i think that was dallas. dallas's managerial style. obviously, you know, it worked off the field. he would be first one to, you know, buy you a beer and have dinner with you. his style was very successful for our ballclub and the results were there. >> more on dallas green tonight at 11:00. as for phillies opening day in cincinnati is 12 days away, today they played yankees in clearwater. the big day, for yankees, greg byrd, fourth inning young slugger going deep to center, a two run shot, and then in the sixth, he does it again. this time a three run jack. two for three with two home
