5:41 am
5:44 am
>> get your resume ready, i got it tell you, chance the rapper is looking for an intern, fresh off his $1 million donation to public schools in chicago, the rapper took to twitter to make the big announcement. tweeting: i'm looking for someone with experience in putting together decks and writing proposals. in the news room including myself, why he needs someone to build decks, if you know, tweet me. not sure. fans every country music getting ready for big event. academy of country music awards airs this sunday night at 8:00 here on cbs-3. >> good stuff. >> and all week long, you can win a pair of particular tote hot country concert coming to philly keep watching "eyewitness news" this morning, as always, right, coming up in the next hour, we'll tell you how you can end tow win. >> you know me, i like my country music. >> awesome tickets we're giving away that, too. >> stay tuned. >> do we have awesome weather. >> eventually. >> okay.
5:45 am
>> not necessarily today, it is really muggy outside. it is not too windy, but we've got a lot of clouds, very low to the ground, too, so getting right out, we show you camera shot. this is live picture for you, from central parkway library, within the last 45 minutes, that fog has really gun to lift. we never did have a dense fog advisory in the city. but, it was pretty foggy for short time there. dew points are incredibly close to the actual air temperature. and that's when you've got really saturated air mass to work with, air go, end up with some very heavy fog, very dense fog, even ocean monmouth count that i dense fog advisory has been allowed to expire, so it is getting better. meantime let's check out the eyewitness weather watch r reports. i got couple of pictures that came in this morning. this is the one that struck me, came in from phil, you can see, that haze, settling in over the street lamp outside his house right now. this is taken at 5:30, so just within the last handful of minutes. going right to the list format of the maps here. you can see the temperatures very, very mild, at the onset. we do have more of on shore
5:46 am
wind flow here today. it is not a strong wind, necessarily, but it is an east wind. what that is going to do limit us. even though off to mild start, you think okay, no problem really speaking on the thermometer. you may not end up out of the mid 60s, even at best here today. just because that far on shore wind flow. so a lot of folks like david in clementon at 50, as is charles in bath, 50 to start the morning. let's switch it back over to storm scan3, disturbance has been triggering the showers even thunderstorms already this morning. and that continues to work it way toward us, so not completely out of here obviously, that means entire day's worth of scattered showers, and thunderstorm, so it is not a wash out. but, could you get drenched by some of these. there is so much moisture to work with in the atmosphere. i think some of the storms could turn little feisty too. taking a look at the severe threat. you know we are in the even signature unless you're in southwest most delaware in the marginal risk for severe weather. again i think despite that very low severe threat from the storm prediction center we could see gusty wind, perhaps
5:47 am
some small size hail embedded in kim of storm sells. keep an eye out for. that will meantime tomorrow, regaining, thursday my personal favorite looking beautiful of the next several. storm coming along already by friday. meisha? >> katie, thank you so much. and very happy tuesday to you. looking outside at the roadways right now, looking at 95 south to the betsy ross bridge starting to build levels right now. you can see that pushing in the southbound direction, headlights moving in the southbound direction, schuylkill taillights moving in the, where are we, near girard, eastbound direction, you can see, both eastbound and westbound on the schuylkill, base lip nicks where it we look there, it is going to be starting to build now. ninety-five, the schuylkill, the vine, all of which are starting to build levels including 42 freeway northbound at creek road. you can see how many headlight are out there in new jersey as you push in the northbound direction toward 295. this is what you are going to be contending with. so, a lot of people are going to be headed out their doorways early today because of whatever we dealt with yesterday. wet roadways, fog, and the fog
5:48 am
what we're going to be contends withing today as well. mobile crew out there on 55 northbound between 641 and route 42, that's going to be lingering out there for the next ten, 15 minute or so. i'll let you know as soon that is it does clear, also construction glasco, 89 corporate boulevard, intermittent closures until 6:00 a.m., as well, so next ten, 15 minute, a lot should be clearing up for us. >> the major leaguers wrapping up spring training with the regular season less than a week away. >> young players also working out before their season start. our pal gotten live in newtown, bucks count way special guest to show you how you can help the athlete in your house. hello, pat. >> reporter: yes, good morning, giles, that's correct. with baseball season starting up, a lot of high schoolers, even younger, are ready to get back into the swing every things. so i thought why not get some tips and tricks from one of the guys who knows it well. this is kevin wilson, kevin, good morning. >> morning. >> so give us a little bit of your resume, your background in this?
5:49 am
>> sure. i'm private hitting consultant, major league, minor league players, behind the scenes, guy behind the shadows helps the guy, how to get through their at bats, short season, full season, first time in the big leagues, first time in pro bowl. >> so when you watch the major leagues, who are some of the players that stand out to you that we should all be watching, not just kids, but everyone? >> sure. certainly. i think the usual suspect, meg egg again remember a, mike trout, local guy, with the angels, and then ex philly chase utley for me. still playing, and all of those guys, they have consistency to their game. >> sure. >> they are the same player day in, day out, not wasting at bats. they put good at bats together through an entire season. >> what is it about utley's swing that everyone lovers so much? >> a lot of short, compact, very direct to the ball. no waste of movement. you can look at all of the giles, very little movement. rhythm to it, very little movement. >> so for parents whose son or
5:50 am
daughter wants to get a little bit more into the game, that's a great tip, great trick. so show me what am i looking for here, if you are showing me for the first time, how to line up and get ready smear. >> certainly. so the t is a big part of the game. young people, they think well t ball is only, t ball. but big leaguers use it every day. so when up get a ball, take the two seems on the baseball, face it toward the catcher. part of it is you want to be able to hit the inside of the baseball. so visual for young people out there, pull the ball on the t, hit this t closest to you. all i want you to do is just do your best to hit that seem to get the ball going up the middle. >> all right, guys, here we go, not supposed to think, hit the seem right up the middle. >> so what you did right there, you hit the outside. >> i did hit the outside. >> now correct it on your own. you know you hit that one. >> last one. here we go. >> this is it. >> little better. >> you there go. >> kevin, we'll come back in

5:52 am
5:54 am
5:55 am
>> a mustang, an actual real horse. >> san francisco, pretty surprise today seat horse and the muleun interstate 680. we're told the two did take the proper entrance ramp to get on the interstate. the four legged fugitives broke through a fence about a mile away. they're back in place. they were not hurt. however, it is unclear this morning, we are area working to get details if charged. >> well, coming up in the next hour of cbs-3 "eyewitness news," controversy erupts after this video every tsa pat-down is posted on line. why the mother of this boy says the security checks went too far. >> and, preview of the tasty new treats they're serving up at citizens bank park this season. stay with us.

5:59 am
line 48th annual ronald mcdonald house charities telethon are about to open. let's get the phones ringing. and get some good news for those folks at ronald mcdonald house. thank you everyone, for being with us, today's tuesday, march 28th. i'm jim donovan. >> i'm rahel solomon. katie and meisha keeping an eye on things on this very special tuesday for us. good morning, ladies? sure is special. good morning, everyone, roadways looking pretty good. they're starting to heat up. getting busy out there. visibility playing little bit of issue this morning so far. so will that continue? >> that's what's odd about this. because we do have some poor visibility, no dense fog advisory anywhere. ocean monmouth county, national weather service decided we don't need it any more. just not at the threshold necessary to meet criteria for actual dense fog advisory to be put into place. always good place to start whether tracking storms is of course storm scan3, we had few heavier under storms rumbling through central new jersey, meshes err county reporting parts of the country some pea

size hail, the very front end of the loop there. but you will see more like that throughout the day. take a look at visibility, like just saying, now, at this point at philadelphia international airport, under a mile. half mile in wilmington. might as well be nice clear sky in a milville and a.c. airport or out in dover. right before your very eyes see the values change. these are live observations obviously, so as the new hours worth of information comes in, you'll see that number change. looking here, i want you to focus on couple of things, temperature on the left hand column there, very mild start to the day. notice, the wind direction, as well. a lot of that wind coming in from the east. it is on shore in other words. i think that holds us back from really charging forward with very mild daytime highs. sixty-four in the city still mild. but scaling that back from our original predictions here, just because of the on shore wind flow that's probably going to help limit things. meantime in the low or upper 50's, at the shore, the pocono region, and everybody, meisha, fair game for scattered shower or they have i -- heavy
