grave stones. >> reporter: response to the vandalism has been swift in the days and weeks following the discovery, some 300 people rolled up their sleeves to clean up the cemetery. the jewish federation of the greater philadelphia went on to raise more than $220,000, to fund restoration. >> it has been a incredible outpouring from the whole community, of love, and generosity. and we have also had a lot of people coming out and lend their hand, to help us, as we clean and mask the cemetery. >> to the degree they were down, knocked over by vandals. >> reporter: conservation expert joe and grave stone matters cemetery preservation and national park service are leading the effort which will include repairing fencing and installing additional lighting members of the bricklayers, anal identify craft workers local one are also, donating their time. >> we have done in a matter of probably only an hour or so by a few vandals will take

well, back on "eyewitness news" an investigation is underway after a plane goes up in flames at a airport in peru >> definitely a scary sight, thinks the airport yesterday, passengers were rushed off a plane that had just landed from lima. local media reports that the plane's right wing broke which started the fire but thankfully everybody made it off, the plane safely. >> also in peru rescuers say they had a baby girl from the flooded house. torrential rains continued to bat their country and nearly 100 people have died as a result of flooding. peru army shot this video as they rescued a family of five, including two children. peru's emergency management has issued flood warnings for various rivers in the area. they cannot get a break there at all. >> no, they really can't. and that has been continuing to be a problem right around this time. meanwhile back here at home things are definitely beginning to quiet down, at lee for a couple days we will have high pressure on our side we had a storm yesterday, which was scattered but locally very heavy rain and

here we are talking about this all morning long about just, it will be a little residual congestion, we had fog, that rain monday and tuesday and that will push people out of their homes, earlier today, not a bad idea. plus another accident, car went in the pole roosevelt boulevard northbound at red lion road, jim and rahel, over to you. house officials in new jersey are warning pet owners about a rat born disease that has claim the lives of at least three dogs. vets in the state say they have seen a rise in the number of dogs with contracted the disease. the disease is a bacterial infection that is transmitted through rat urine, and officials say dogs can be exposed after drinking puddle water at dog parks. fur dog contracts the infection early recognition is key, and there is a vaccine that can be given. symptoms of the this bacteria include, fever, loss of appetite and urination problems. well, state of the illinois is using trust and

here we are at drexel university. they have a great program here and today, the finals of the culinary competition that i wish i was part of at one point. i'm not, however, these fine kid are, they are making crepe s this morning which we will get to in a second because i'm hungry. this is carrie fisher the program director. good morning. tell us about what is going on here. >> today is our final competition for career culinary hearts program and it is a scholarship competition and these students with 16 others, they are competing for skull ship to culinary school. >> that is pretty neat. how long has this been going on for. >> it runs whole year, they replied in the fall, we had prelimb competition in january and they have been practicing for months for today, they have two hours to make, a hunter chick when tornae potatoes as jason showed you and dessert with pastry cream. this is breakfast. we will lighten that up for you. they will be judged by restaurant chefs and winners will be announced at the award breakfast next week at union
