"eyewitness news" reporter alexandria hoff is live in upper darby where police laid out charges a short time ago, alex. >> reporter: you know we are talking about here a middle school with 1200 students, not a smart place to bring a gun and dozens of round of live ammunition but that is what police in upper darby say, independent aid, hired to monitor a special need student did at drexel hill middle school. around 12:30, a hollow tip bullet was found in the staff bathroom and police were

called to the school. according to officers azamater was discussed dominic jordan came forward claiming that the bullet was his, jordan then turned over to police over 40 live round of ammunition, officers say jordan denied having a weapon but then when his bag was searched they recovered a 40 caliber glock. jordan is not a teacher or a scheme employee at drexel hill , but independent aid caring for an eighth grader with special need. >> this kid that he is supposed to be monitoring, is an eighth grader, you know, what happens if that child or any child gets a hold of that gun and then firearms, i mean, you can see that this guy, is armed for warfare. >> reporter: here's the thing police tell us it would have been very difficult to track down who that bullet belonged to if jordan did not essentially ask for it back. he did have a permit to carry

this weapon but, of course, that does not apply to schools he has been charged with possessing a weapon on school property. reporting live, alexandria hoff for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> alex, thank you. former aid with mayor michael nutter's administration are accused of making $220,000 in questionable, purchases. the findings were outlined in a new report on a investigation into the cities non-profit, mayor's fund. some of the big's alleged expenses included about $60,000 at downtown marriott, more than $10,000 at sophie tell hotel, about $8,700 in uber ride, and $6,500 in u.s. airways. joe holden has been following this investigation since it was revealed last year and joins us now in center city with the new findings, joe, good evening. >> reporter: ukee, good evening. controller asserts that this mayor's fund was used to duck, to go around, city financial controls, but both city council and controller's office, right from this press

release city controller writes we have discovered many additional questionable purchase that he is were made with credit card, as well as with checks, that were written to pay, for special events, for the prior mayor. >> it wasn't his money. >> reporter: review by philadelphia controller alan butkovitz uncovered a string of questionable spending through a non-profit fund known as mayor's fun, figure is hovering around $200,000, former mayor nutter has been asked to pay back $22,100, money used to fund a farewell party at the university of the arts. >> there were thousands and thousands of dollars, in pretty expensive meals. in fact, liquor bills which is another wrinkle. >> reporter: the former executive director desiree peterkin bellies challenged over her use of credit card according to the report, which shows 458 uber rides run up on a credit card bearing her name , peterkin bell wouldn't talk on camera but that the accusations were not true.

there were 50 hotel rooms paid out of the fund during the papal visit, some city officials including mayor nutter had as many as two help tell rooms according to the report, the controller says city commissioner whose name was down for a hotel room actually spent weekend sleeping in city hall. >> one of the commissioners to whom a room was supposedly assign didn't know about the assignment and didn't have access to the room and slept on the cot in city hall. >> reporter: controller has referred his report to numerous law enforcement agencies, ordinarily it would have been sent only to the philadelphia d.a.'s office, but controller says fact that d.a. seth williams is under federal indictment is cause for concern. >> particularly because of the questions about the legitimacy of the district attorney right now, and state attorney general received the report as well also. >> reporter: reached out to the district attorney's office and spokesmen told me in part that those office members at d.a.'s office are there, to follow the mission of the office and they are there to colt job.
