paper service area in cranberry township before 3:00 thursday afternoon and a state trooper opened fire shooting and killing a man sitting inside this pickup truck. >> we rolled it up and saw it and she the cashier said somebody got shot. >> they will not say what led to the shooting. 70 miles away 90 minutes later chopper 3 caught police chasing this car south own the turnpik turnpike. five miles north of delaware memorial bridge and that came to a halt. police with guns surrounded car and took three people into custody. it appeared the incidents ma maying related and sources say they are not. south jersey incident is part of criminal investigation out of maryland and the source would not get into the specifics of each case. both incidents remain under investigation and new jersey attorney general's office investigating the cranberry township shooting. david spunt, cbs3 eyewitness news.

>> new tonight this highway in atlanta is shut down after a massive fire caused the road to collapse. intense flames melted overpass on interstate 835 before it gave way. at this point we don't know what caused the fire in some piles of plastic wiring under the highway. traffic was backed up for miles as drivers had nowhere to go. transportation officials state highway will be closed for the foreseeable future. and teenager is now behind bars for a series of attacks on women in delaware county and authorities tonight believe there could be more victim out. there 19-year-old de john lee is charged with raping and robbing nine women over the past three years and alleged attacks napped secluded areas some of the victims told police lee wore a mask or tried to shield his face during attacks. the break in the case came when one victims recognized him. >> she also indicated that she had heard his voice and was not

sure but believed it was him. >> i am not going to take the law in my hand but it's disgust that a human being could drop this low. >> reporter: anyone with information this this case should contact police right away. authorities hope the public can help them with unsolved murder of a woman for information in the death of marquia benson she was found deaded in her apartment one year ago. beaten. the killer, whom it is believed knew benson scawld messages on the wall before leaving her in a bathtub of scalding water. benson's family spoke out today asking if anyone knows anything to speak of. >> do the right thing. do the right thing. come forward. express your side of it if there is a side. >> detectives would not discuss possible dna found at the scene nor riotings they say killer left own benson's walls.

larger system impacting weather from tonight all the way through this time tomorrow night. we'll still be talking about this same storm taken may last torlly saturday morning. here's the rain. starting to lift in lots of moisture being pulled in along this line and we have again this line ever scattered showers and thunderstorms. right now all of bucks county seeing it and a few scattered showers around the city and you can see back towards chester country one report of lightning there. it's messy outside but again only gets worse. it's cool. we have east wind that will continue tomorrow. tem furz in the low 40s. and notice the poconos though. it's only 36. temp drop there and that means we'll have the risk for freezing rain in portions of especially monroe county as we go through so this is just going to intensify overnight, showers leading to some steadier rall. your morning commute is wet. pockets of steadier rain here and there and it's just light to moderate rain for the most part for morning commute and then increases in intensity.
