looking at there, it will get very busy. burlington bristol bridge scheduled to open at 5:10, so about ten minute or so it will open, just heads up. take a look how foggy the shot s because we have some visibility issues, because we have the rain, we are going to get some issues out there, already accident new jersey turnpike northbound before hightstown, pulled off to the shoulder. we had another accident already this morning, just cleared, upper pottsgrove township, farm inning ton avenue north state road. so this is the kind of stuff we will be seeing all morning long, lever the homes early, jim, over to you. >> thank you shall meisha. new this morning, police investigating shooting in north philadelphia that left a man fighting for his life. this happened just after 2:30, 2500 block of north colorado street, responding officers found crime scene, no victim. they were then notified 32 year old victim had been dropped off at temple university hospital suffering from multiple gunshot wound. >> while driving, the victim to the hospital, the pick-up truck did crash into the front of a home in the 2500 block of

colorado, doing damage to the bricks in front and by a basement window. >> well, police say that pick up did sustain some front-end damage and is being held at temple hospital, as part of a crime scene. so far no word on a motive in that shooting. >> developing now, authorities in delaware county believe there are more victims in the case of a serial rapist. >> so far, police have charged a suspect in nine attacks. "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo live in chester, now to bring us up to date on the investigation, good morning, jan. >> rahel, jim, good morning, that's right. now, the district is turning, asking the additional women to step forward, possibly victimized by this man. he's actually already admitted to raping and assaulting at least nine women, and he actually told investigators, he's done the same to many more. >> he's the man police say stalked his victims, dragged them to secluded places, raped them, beat them, and often robbed them.

>> an individual that was a sexual preditor, has terrorized women. >> now 19 year old dejohn lee is behind bars. >> anything i want to say to the victims? >> he had no comment as "eyewitness news" cameras folds to his arraignment on thursday. prosecutors are calling him a serial rapist who started his crimes at 16 years old, beginning in july 2014, and continuing over the next three years. authority say lee attacked at least nine women in chester. >> he would rob them, woe rape them. >> investigators say he would often pray on women who were walking and distracted, and then drag them away at gunpoint. one of those alleged victims told police in december 2016 a man raped and robbed her on the 500 block of pennell street. she called police again a few weeks later, after reportedly recognizing lee as her attacker while inside this shoprite in eddie stone. police arrested leon firearms charges but linked him to previous attacks using dn a and witness interviews.

lee's former neighbors are discusted by the allegations. >> i can't take the law in my hand, but it is discusting that a human being could drop this low. >> lee now faces a number of charges including rape, attempted murder, assault, and robbery, again, anyone with information about any of these assaults, or if you believe you have been victimized, yourself, please call police. reporting live in chester this morning, jan carabeo, cbs-3, "eyewitness news," rahel, jim, back to you. >> jan, thank you. meanwhile two separate incidents on the new jersey turnpike are under investigation this morning. >> fatal shooting happened yesterday afternoon at the molly pitcher service area in cranberry township middlesex county, then there was arrest in pilesgrove salem county. last night police removed the body from the service area. state police rushed there just before 3:00. state trooper opened fire and killed a man inside a pick-up truck, but at this point, state police not saying what led to that shooting. >> just rolled up and saw it then we asked the cashier inside. >> what did the cashier say? >> she said somebody got shot.

>> now, 70 miles away, and about an hour and a half later police surrounded a car 5 miles north of the delaware memorial bridge, three people in custody, told that's part of criminal investigation out of maryland. >> new developments in the investigation over russia's interference in the presidential election. president trump's former national security advisor is in talks about testifying on one condition. hena daniels explains. >> president trump's ousted national security advisor, lieutenant general michael flynn, is engaged in negotiations with the house and senate. about testifying in their on-going probes into russia. the bombshell confirmed thursday by flynn's attorney, robert kel nerve, issued a statement saying his client certainly has a story to tell. but his first speaking assurances against unfair prosecution. >> you don't ask for immunity of course unless you feel like you're in legal jeopardy. so we have to be very careful here. >> flynn fired back in february for misleading vice president mike pence about his discussions with russia's

opinion. hena daniels, cbs-3, "eyewitness news." >> it is back to court this afternoon for philadelphia district attorney, seth williams. he is supposed to tell a federal judge if found new lawyer. current attorney michael diamondstein wants off the case over concerns that williams won't be able to pay him. williams accused of taking more than $100,000 worth of gift and cash in exchange for favors he has pleaded not guilty. >> formal arraignment is set for this morning, in doylestown bucks county, for jacob sullivan accused in the murder of 14 year old grace packer, prosecutors say sullivan and grace's mother sarah packer beat, raped, murdered her daughter, last year, and disposed her body in luzerne county. both suspect running held without bail. >> well the missing federal judge we told but yesterday has been found safe and sound. ninety-one year old former judge edwin cost i can was found yesterday just few miles from his home. two teenagers spotted his gray acura behind a hotel in dunmore, that's in lackawanna county. the judge was found about

>> cirque du soleil performing. this video doesn't show the fall, but they say the female performer landed on her back while flying through the air, hitting a swing as she fell. she was carried away on backboard, but officials with the show say she's okay and doing well. >> now information this morning, on that deadly bus crash that killed 13 church members in texas. just before wednesday's accident, calls came in to law enforcement officials, in count counties about person driving irradically, that pick up slammed on route 83, 75 miles west of san antonio, pick up driver and bus driver survived the crash. out west, off initials oakland, california blame fatal fire in a building on a candle. that fire killed four people and displaced dozens more. the building housed recovering addicts and people who had been homeless. the fire happened just three days after city building inspectors found numerous fire code violations including non-working sprinklers anal larges. >> shocking video out of australia showing entire communities under water after

powerful cyclone. northern australia, swamped by cyclone debbie. it smashed tourist resort in queensland yesterday and rivers in new south whales overflowed overnight. more than 20,000 people have been evacuated from their homes, but so far, fortunately, no injuries have been reported. >> meanwhile, georgia is under a state of emergency and commuters can expect a rush hour nightmare this morning. after this massive fire caused a portion of highway to collapse thursday night. making matters even worse, georgia's top transportation officials says there is no official word on when that major stretch. highway will reopen. correspondent rid bin john has more. >> the area, if at all possible -- >> georgia governor urging caution after massive fire triggered the collapse of section of freeway along the interstate in atlanta. >> to my knowledge, we've not had any injuries as a result of this fire on the bridge. >> the blaze errupting underneath an elevated section of i80 northbound. sending enormous plumes of smoke into the air. visibly covering the city's

skyline. some vehicles driving through the smoke and vanishing from site, others driving right past the wall of flames, which one official estimated was 40 feet or higher. as the blaze grew, so did confusion on the highway. motorists, struggling to get off the road, at around 7:00 p.m., support structures finally gave way to the intense heat. >> you could almost tell what was about to happen. there were large chunks of concrete starting to come down, i mean, two, 300-pound chunks of concrete starting to come down. >> span of highway roughly 75 to 100 feet long crashing on to the ground below. firefighters, pulling back the safe ground just minute before the clams. the governor says the cause of the blaze is under investigation. >> i do not know for sure the speculation that i heard was that it was some pvc product that caught fire. >> read bin john, cbs-3, "eyewitness news." >> i mean that's one big mess down there. that's going to take them a while to get that fixed. >> where do you even begin with something like that? my goodness. >> we could send them some

rain to put the fire out. >> no kidding. so often the case, that wasn't wild fire, but so often you get the wild fires and the storms just never come through the area. just the nature of the beast, but we definitely have our hands very full with the storm that's going to be moving through. it is an all day event. it bridges very soaking rain, and flood concerns. we've actually had already some thunderstorms rumbling on through. last night a very soaking round of rain. actually as i weigh driving in, i was caught in it. really reduce the visibility. so that's round one. round one, i would say, rain wins that one, the city, zero, for now, we will continue to see, though, these pockets of rain come through, in fears throughout the course of the day. look at the storm, huge for one thing, and it is going to intensify as it ross cents the region. actually haven't even seen the worse of this. second half of the day that really get the most active. but future radar will continue to show some rain really at any time. it just really fills in as you hit the afternoon. so by 9:00 a.m., as we wrap up the typical morning rush,

unless, also, the temperature up at mount pocono, three it, you have freezing rain advisory specific to monroe county. but look, by 4:00 p.m., kids are getting out of school, you're headed home for nice relaxing weekends, it will be slow drive. you're going see very soaking rainout there. and it is widespread. no one will likely be immune. later tonight, things begin to ease up little bit. but it is not even until tomorrow morning, that we can say there is back edge to this. we should actually ends up with some sunshine by the time we hit saturday afternoon. out on the roadways here, very poor visibility is a concern. watch for road spray for now. but the heavy rain will slow you down too. and one of jim's fans on facebook actually reminded us, not only do you want to keep your vehicle distance, but using your wipers, turn the lights on, that's actually a law. make sure do you that, puddled, ponding a concern. weather having a huge impact on your commute here today. soap, tracking weather very much going together. by tomorrow showers still out there. as we said early in the morning, skies will start to clear, sunday, deep breath,

meisha, at least that looks like a gem. >> that's what i was thinking, you know, sunday good relaxing day to just chill out in the sunshine. so we can get through today. good news it is friday. we're happy about that. we're looking outside, though, and yes, katie pointed out with all of the rain coming down, it will be a very slow commute. there is no way around it. don't even think for a second that you can just walk out the door like you typically would and won't have any hiccups. it will get slow. broad street at spring garden street, this is kind of quick look at what we will be looking at. wet roadways, droplet all over the lens, rain coming down in some areas. whether we get pooling and puddle like this on the roadways, that's when brake lights start going off later on, talking more pushing toward the 6:00 in the 6:00 hours, of course 7:00 when we start it really slow down. but first look in new jersey, 42 freeway northbound creek road you can see how many vehicles are already out there. this is what it will be like all morning long. so, if you're just headed out the door now, you're probably in good company. but i would say over the next 45 minute or so, we will start to see things change.

burlington bristol bridge scheduled to open about now. i can't tell you up right now because it is hard to see, it is foggy, but scheduled to open 510:67:89 we had accident new jersey turnpike northbound before height town. that's since cleared. actually had few accidents this morning, the good news is all of those accident, actually clearing very quickly, so that's the great news. however, they're happening, letting us know that our roadways aren't going to be that great today. so, jim, rahel, over to you. >> meisha, thank you. and now for look at newspaper headlines from across our region. >> from the news journal, 47 year old jamie baker has been sentenced to 40 years in prison. l delaware woman pleaded guilty in february to killing her husband by lacing his steroid injections with anti-freeze. the victim, james baker, was a competitive weight lifter. >> and the reading eagle, buttonwood street bridge set to open next week, bring closed since july of 2015. vehicles will once again travel the span on april 7th, following a 10:00 a.m. ribbon
