meisha's here. >> good morning, gateway to our weekend is here. >> i can see it. >> yes, so can i. >> yes, skip over friday, right to saturday. it is raining out there. we were talking about it yesterday and then again today morning and evening commute, yikes. >> things are just starting to get going. check this out storm scan three is showing a look toward harrisburg. about an hour ago there was a nothing, now thunderstorms are flowering, around the area, all of the same shower activity, popping up across portions of south jersey, in and around center city philadelphia. the showers are starting to develop. you'll need that umbrella through today. see that storm activity. look at how quickly that is popping up. that is concern for quickly developing, thunderstorm activity and some of those storms could be on the stronger side and some shower activity could be quite heavy. temperatures are chilly, 48 degrees, compliments of the easterly wind off the atlantic forty-seven in, allentown, 48 degrees in atlantic city.

we have breezy conditions, so maybe the umbrella isn't best idea, might want to go with the rain slicker. wind speed at 15 to 20 miles an hour. we have a flood watch through the day-to-day and runs until 2:00 p.m. for lehigh valley, poconos, runs until 11:00 for center city philadelphia and surrounding counties. tough go today, keep an eye to the sky, showers, thunderstorms for first half of the day. we could see sunshine breaking out in the afternoon but don't let your guard down even if you see sun we could see storm activity in the second half of the day. >> so again, our head line for world of travel will be, leave your homes early. you will need to do so, again. i think i have been honorary pete for almost two weeks off and on. head up this will give you a picture what you will be dealing with going out there. when we see wet roadways we know it will get busy. thinks where we have construction 95 at the vine north ramp to the vine, left lane blocked there but that has been since clear. i wanted to show you that

shooting. dozens gathered to remember the men referred to as ron/ron , tyi and bub. >> why would they take three boys, three young black men, to die, for us to get out together like this. >> reporter: police say this and another man were standing outside an apartment complex near intersection of the 11th and fouler street monday afternoon when two gunman ambushed them firing two dozen shots. at the vigil friend and family offered memories of the victims. >> this young man has played in my home. this young man has played with my son this young's man family is part of my family. >> there is nothing that you can really say. you really don't know. there was three boys. >> reporter: local clergy members and activist from cease-fire philadelphia and mothers in charge called for an end to the gun violence which happened just a block away from saint maliki's school with children still inside. >> we have to put value on life. >> yes. >> we have to teach our kid,

the value of life. >> yes. >> so that no matter how many guns, how many drugs, no matter how much is around, when you have value for life, do you that which is, people love, not hate and destruction >> reporter: and state representative curtis thomas plans to hold a news conference addressing the violence in his district, that is set for 11:00 a.m. for now we are live outside police headquarters i'm trang do for cbs-3 "eyewitness news" , rahel and jim, back to you. new this morning philadelphia police say a woman is in stable condition after she was shot, three times, in southwest philadelphia. it happened near south 57th street and florence avenue in the kingsessing neighborhood. the three three-year old was shot once in the abdomen and twice in the leg. police have not arrested a suspect. police are putting up hot spots in the morning fire of the overbrook. fire tore through 5400 block of diamond street just after 1:00. there are in reports of

injuries but home does seem to have considerable damage n word on the cause of the fire. local priest faces 80 years in prison after he ripped off elderly clergy members to the tune of the half million-dollar. monsignor william dumbbrow works at villa st. joseph a retirement home for aging priestness darby. he committed wire fraud by taking fund over a nine year period. he spent that on fancy dinner, gambling and consers. dombureau is on administrative leave. pretrial hearing today for lee kaplan, the man who was accused of sexually assaulting six sisters. prosecutors say that the feasterville bucks county man fathered two children with a then 14 year-old girl who had been gifted to him, for helping her parents financially. the girls parents also face charges, kaplan's trial is set to begin next month. man accused offsetting off bombs in new york and new jersey wants his trial moved to vermont. lawyers born for ahead rahami

said he will get a fair trial in vermont because of the new york media coverage. he is charged with death mating a pipe bomb in ocean county and planting pressure cooker bombs in manhattan last september. thirty people were injured in those bombings. emotions run high in the courthouse where eric frein's death penalty trial is unfolding. yesterday pennsylvania state troopers told jurors how they responded to the deadly ambush at the blooming grove barracks in berks county. two troopers testified about the horrifying moment in september 2014 when they first heard gunshots in the building emergency responders also described the painful scene. >> we didn't know, that all of the gun fire were you hearing was cover fire or whether there was somebody else. you cannot put everything out of your mind thaw go through and you try to go back as far as possible but having to go through this again brought it all back to life again. >> eric frein's accused of opening fire at the barracks killing corporal brian dickson and wounding trooper alex douglass. authorities in berks county call it one of the war cases of animal cruelty they

have ever seen. a kitten, found tied up in a trash bag, and then doused in gasoline. now, a search is on to find the person responsible. two sanitation workers found the kitten on tuesday while collecting trash on north front street in reading. the workers, from harold adams ref fuse removal had just started crushing the crash in the back of their truck when they heard the animals cries for help. they then rushed the one year-old cat to the humane society. >> she was in shock, very dehydrated, under weight and her temperature was extremely low, like starving. >> horrible. humane society said they have named the cat miracle macy, is there a $1,000 reward offered in that case. after years of fighting for better pay and conditions service workers at philadelphia international airport are now part of the union. mayor jim kenney will congratulate the group at the airport this afternoon this is video protesting at phl in 2015. it consists of baggage handlers, sky caps and wheelchair attendants.

severe weather rips through south carolina but there are no serious injuries. look at this footage from columbia, south carolina where 2 inches have rain fell in one hour yesterday. people became trapped because of the street flooding. parts of the region reported hail the size of ping-pong balls. officials issued a tornado watch that has since been dropped. >> it has been a couple days now, severe weather we have been having. >> we have been impacted by same storm system right now. it is working its way up. big, wide reaching, powerful storm system. we could see severe weather here as well. keep an eye to the sky, not worried about ping-pong ball sized hail but we could see gusty wind and lightening and rainfall with these thunderstorms that are already flaring up at this early hour, storm scan three is showing us activity starting to getting right now, showers, activity, moving from southwest to north e across the area, also in berks county, probably hearing some rumbles of thunder because of these thunderstorms that have just developed off to the west that are continuing to move their

way northe, much more moisture starting to really expose itself to our south and west. check out this storm system, it is huge. the center is still back over portions of the midwest, and counterclockwise circulation point with all this moisture from the south. we will deal with period of rain on and off throughout the day-to-day both in the morning and then again in the afternoon. we could see locally strong thunderstorms even in the morning hours, heavy rain, strong gusty wind and then both commutes will be impacted today. checking in on future weather we see heavier pockets of rain in the 7:00 o'clock hour. doesn't commute look fun as we head in the 8:00 o'clock hour dealing with embedded thunderstorms. pushing toward lunchtime still dealing with these showers, moving through and areas of heavy rainfall. this afternoon we could see some sunshine braking not some areas but that will only continue to destabilize atmosphere. you can see some sun don't let your guard down because we still could be dealing with the strong thunderstorm quickly developing and rolling through your neck of the wood as we head into tonight.

things will wind down as we head in the late evening hours , we could see lingering showers into midnight but wind gusts in the 20-mile an hour range, wind advice rid in effect down the shore until 5:00 p.m. where we could see wind of 50 miles an hour, so windy day down the shore, all together an unpleasant day to day but keep an eye to the sky as we head into tomorrow, meisha, cooler but check out that nice sunny stretch mid 70 's by next week. >> exactly where our eyes are going, thank you so much. so yes, another busy commute this morning, give yourself some extra time, once again, pack that patients, we have an accident here vine westbound ramp to eastbound schuylkill you can see it pulled off. vine jumping on to the schuylkill and start to put on your brakes and it will get busy, quickly because of the wet roadways. you can see them under these lights showing you that sheen on the roadway. we have a water main brake here in carney's township new jersey, harding highway closed , penns grove auburn is your best bet around that, i will let you know when that
