about one hour. ukee and nicole. >> greg, thank you. there is more reaction right now. happening at city hall a protest is underway, demonstrators there are calling for an end to what they are calling trump's war on syria. it is not the only rally planned for the evening. in allentown tonight members of the large syrian christian community, against the missle strike, plan to show their support, of syrian president bashar al-assad. we wanted to get a sample of what people in our area think of the president's decision to use military force , opinions vary widely some strongly support the bombings while others disagree with what they say seemed like a sudden reaction. >> the response that was needed. it was needed to a country who has said it is okay to use gas to kill children and, you know , and its people. >> i'm upset. would i like to see it discussed, travel from every where, would i like to see something different than what happened.

four people were killed when a hijacked beer truck raced down crowded street and crashed in the department store in stockholm. shoppers could be seen running from that scene, swedish police launched a nationwide manhunt for the truck driver, investigators released a photo of the person of interest, so far police have arrested one person. >> i saw eight people get drive over and he drive from the upper to down here to here >> swedish police say 15 people were injured, in that attack. police are investigating the abduction of a four year-old girl who was, playing just outside of her home. kidnappings happened in wilmington. little girl was found two hours later, close by in the park. at this park earlier searching for evidence and now they say they are on the hunt for quote a heartless monster adding that finding the abduct their four year-old girl is their highest priority. >> the quiet community in delaware is now quieter, parent in the village of the run, scared to let their children play outside after a four year-old girl was abduct last night south side her home police believe she was taken by a white or hispanic man with dark hair, driving a dark colored sedan with continuity. authorities and witnesses describe they pulled up to the 4100 block of sugar plum court she was with a half dozen friend riding bikes. man reportedly got out of his car, briefly talked to the girl and then suddenly he snatched her, forcing her in his car and speeding off. some of her friend tried to save her. >> one of the other little girls, went after him, and she was called out for help. and she then i believe went to

her parents and they alerted everybody. >> reporter: again that little girl was found at this park two hours later after she was taken bye coming up at 6:00 we will tell what you police say happened to her while she was with her kidnapper. it is something that has police visibly shaken at a news conference earlier. reporting live, alycia nieves for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". the reward is now up to $5,000 for information, on a kitten found in a trash bag, doused in gasoline. two sanitation workers found that kitten tuesday while collecting trash in reading. the workers for animal cry for help and rush kit don't humane society. kitten is now named miracle macy. for next two weeks macy will continue treatment and then be available for adoption. let's talk sports. baseball is back in south philadelphia. after opening season on the road fightin phillies are back at the bank for the home opener. >> sports director don bell

president bashar al-assad promising reform and more input from since. over the years they demanded a shift to the democratic government. as opposition mounted al-assad was accused of mass arrests and murder of his own citizens the civil war began in 2011. since then an estimated 400,000 syrians have been killed. since december 2016, nearly 5 million syrians have fled the country and 6 million are displaced inside their own country. the situation escalated with the chemical attack on tuesday which killed 87 people, including 31 children. that attack resulted in this, air strikes by the united

states, the pentagon says 58 of the 59 tomahawk cruise missiles hit their target, the air base where syrian forces launched tuesday's deadly chemical weapons attack on civilians. the united states is looking into whether russia played a role in that chemical attack. in our satellite center is doctor david barrett. >> professor in the political department of villanova and leading experts on domestic and for's fares. >> doctor, thanks for joining us. you may have seen our earlier local reaction but today many americans are wondering what the implications of last night 's strike, will be, your thoughts? >> reporter: well, i think there air lot of implications for russia and for syria itself and also very much for president trump and u.s. foreign policy. as a candidate, he was critical of ideas of the u.s. getting deeply involved in humanitarian crisis, and in syria as a president, he said very clearly just a day or so

ago that photographs, videos showing children and other gasping for breath had a deep effect on him. we have shifted from a candidate trum hospital was resistant to u.s. military involvement in syria to one who now says we're involved. >> doctor barrett, many americans fear, what comes next, can we expect any retaliation from russia. how does that change the dynamics of our relationship with that country. >> well, relations with russia are now going to be difficult. our secretary of state is to go there very soon. so, the putin/trump relationship will be different , it will be more strained, almost certainly, and the implications for the u.s. i think in terms of congress, will congress get involved in this? will there been a vote? there are a lot of questions that lie ahead. it is possible, only possible that things will go back to where they were before, perhaps assad who clearly did

use chemical weapons, and it was his aircraft, perhaps he won't do that again, perhaps russia won't retaliate, perhaps president trump will not wish to do more, but with so many parties involved, it is hard to be sure of what lies neck. >> doctor you touched on it there, should there have been in your opinion an act of congress. >> in the constitution it talks about congress being involved before the u.s. goes to war. now we're not in a sustained war yet right now and that might not happen but constitution is pretty clear about that. so if there is going to be continued military involvement , continued air strikes or other military involvement, congress really should get involved, and we will see what president trump thinks about that question. >> doctor david barrett from villanova university. we appreciate your insight. we appreciate you joining us. >> as our coverage of the syrian strike continues we will talk live to john dickerson, he is hoe of the face the nation and will offer his per speak speculative on a

topic sure to be discussed this sunday morning ahead at 5:30. lets talk about our weather. we saw don bell out there with the gloves, coat at phillies home opener. >> yes, indeed. >> wind is wicked out there this afternoon, wind sustained at 20 miles an hour, gusts to 30 so that is making it feel colder, only in the 40's. feeling like the 30's. do i not blame him for break ing out gloves today, don't really want to have to break out gloves in april but we have to stay warm, somehow, the good news is you can ditch gloves and coats by next week and pull out some short sleeves. we have got some major spring warm up to talk b lets talk about the near term first and foremost, i have pulled up pocono camera it is just snowing a few minutes ago. it has been a couple of snow showers rotate through carbon county. these are instability showers. we have talked about this yesterday, still under the influence of that big area of low pressure, and any sunshine we will get, provides enough warming to the surface that a little parcel of air rises and will produce scattered showers , that is what we have

the 40's all day long, and look at these wind, these are in the even wind gusts, these are sustained wind in the 20 to 25 miles an hour range, gusts over 30 miles an hour, and that is making it feel like the upper 30's, outside right now. so not a great afternoon to be outside. good news is we will start to clear things out after six or 7:00, showers moving out once sun goes down and they will certainly shut off, tomorrow 2:00 p.m., nothing, but sunshine a beautiful looking day, it ills still breezy, and sunday, wind die down and the sunnies still, fully shining just a beautiful stretch of wet's head through the weekend this evening, cloud, still a shower, windy cool 47 degrees over next couple of hours or so we will drop down to a chilly 37 overnight but cloud will be breaking, and then tomorrow's phillies game looks better then today's phillies game. still will be breezy, 57 at first pitch, it will be start to cool down quite considerably after the sunsets , and make sure you bring jacket still but definitely a better day there. you're witness weather three day forecast, well, there

russia is actively engaged in military operations there. they opposed u.s. action in syria. what does this mean for u.s./ russian relationship which secretary of state was on his way to manage, is on his way to manage next week, plus the president is meeting with the president of china right now, how did this action in syria, play into those conversations. they are talking about military action if it comes to that in north korea. so there are a lot of issues surrounding this question of what to do in syria which is itself its own question, and that depend on the reaction from the syrian leadership, but the ultimate question is, what of that syrian leadership how long does bashar al-assad stay in office. >> he is also justice neil gorsuch, john, what does this bitter confirmation as you know what does that battle mean for the future of the senate and for the court. >> reporter: what it means for court is it goes back to basically where it was, at the beginning of the 2016, before

antonin scalia died which is judge gorsuch is a conservative and originalist which looks to the original formation of the constitution in bails his rulings. he is very much, in scalia mold. court will go back to the five -four with the slightly conservative bent all eyes focused on justice kennedy who tend to be one who goes either way. what it means for senate is that the fifth vote threshold is now threshold for, nominat ing or confirming judges f donald trump picks another one the senate democrats have lost the filibuster, republicans pass aid rule to take that away which means if the president names another conservative justice, then the court would really be locked in a conservative direction and the democrats really don't have the tool that they used to have. >> must see television on so many levels, john, we appreciate your insight. john, we will see you sunday. >> you got it. you can watch face the nation with john dickerson sunday morning at 10:30 right

"eyewitness news" new jersey reporter cleve bryan is live at the katz jewish community center in cherry hill with more on this, cleve. >> reporter: home land security officials say it is possible to prevent every attack by something like a active shooter or drop off a bomb or like we saw in sweden drive a car through a crowd. they have made monday a veil able for religious institutions like jewish community center to protect themselves. >> we live in the most dangerous threaten violater since the september 11th. >> reporter: strong warning from former cia analyst and now director of new jersey home land security chris rodriguez. >> in this environment we have to adapt a security mind set that recognizes that the public has become the first line of defense in this fight. >> reporter: as such he and donald norcross were at katz jewish community center in cherry hill to announce a

>> reporter: if you see this and think maybe my church, synagogue could benefit they could use those concrete pillars, security cameras, and contact new jersey office of home land security to get up too $50,000 grant. in cherry hill, cleve bryan, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". a water sample taken from a local high school tested positive for legionella the bacteria that causes legionnaires disease. officials at kenneth high school in chester county say they are working with health officials and started remediation work a digsal testing will be done to make sure that the bacteria is gone officials said presence of that bacteria does not mean the person will contract the disease and there are no cases of legionnaires disease at this time. well, lead from three philadelphia agencies are doing everything this canadian to fight child sexual abuse in the city. >> members of the fail police department, the department of human services and the district attorney's office came together at philadelphia children's alliance today. leaders say they will continue
