of the wetter. >> oh, you know those home and ever and garden stores have been packed. now basically getting into the time where we can actually take care of the garden, nice clear sky out there right now. couple every clouds, you know, streaking through, especially the north and western suburbs, overall, nice clear skies. beautiful start to the day. light of day beginning to pop over the horizon, sun will a rise in about 30 minute from now. looking at the temperatures, still for some of you jacket weather. i wore jacket on my way into work this morning, but it is definitely mild. for april 11 standards, we would normally be bottom out into the lower 40's, clearly well above that already. this is again where we bottom out, only going to warm up from here. but there you have it. place like quakertown, just little more remote, q town, 48 h time we do begin to rebounds nicely. now, moving forward, ya, that's some good stuff. long at this, taste of june in philly. 83 degrees. i bump the high up from previous expectations, so we're at least going to come very close to tying the record

travel on by. talking about sinkhole repairs 17th street. closed as repairs are being done between walnut and locust, alternate 15th or 18th o will have more on that coming up in a little bit. jim, over to you. >> thank you shall meisha. speaking that far repairs set to get underway at the site of sinkhole near rittenhouse square. >> sinkhole has forced officials to close part of 17th street in center city, our trang do live on 17th street now between walnut and locust, trang, i know, you said crews were supposed to be out there. any signs of them yet? >> right there, running little late. we are expecting them at any moment now. but again, guys, this is 17th . between walnut and locust, and it is closed off in anticipation of those crews arriving here. but let's take closer look at the sinkhole here. you can see right with all of the cones around it. now it is not very big as we've been mentioning, about two, 3 feet wide. but if you look inside, it goes pretty deep. somebody could definitely fall in there. so definitely needs to get taken care of. also, you can see, kind of rounds sinkhole, cracks starting to form. so this could definitely

become a dangerous situation that needs to be addressed. but let's take a look at video where you can actually see inside the sinkholement you can see water flowing underneath it. if you look at the video, the water department tells us that this was caused by a broken service line connection to one of the buildings here. and these buildings are multi story buildings, very large buildings, so service lines a lot larger than the ones you see in residential neighborhoods. and this street here has been closed all night. people are already getting kind of frustrated with the closures, we actually saw man lift one of the barricades, and just drive his car on through, and there are number every businesses here on the busy stretch of 17th street. we talked to man who works at little pete's, he said he first saw the hole open up on thursday. take a listen. >> going down, and some days i come into work, i still have hope, so today i come in, i

come in a different direction there block. good thing it is this block, so someone can slow down. >> that is definitely true, i mean, you can see how that could really damage a car, if somebody drove a bike over there could definitely get tuck? there. again waiting on crews to arrive. supposed to arrive sometime this morning. we have no word on how long these repairs will take but this portion every 17th street between walnut and locust will remain closed while crews get to work. but for now, live in rittenhouse square, i'm trang do, cbs-3, "eyewitness news," rahel, jim, back to you. >> rahel, thank you. in other news this morning, 35 year, 34 year old man, shot dead in the streets of west philadelphia earlier this morning. it happened just after 2:00 a.m. on the 4100 block of brown street. that is in the city belmont section. police found the victim shot multiple times, including at least once in the head. investigators say the victim was likely shot at point blank range leading them to believe that he was the intended target. so far no word on any arrests.

montgomery county father accused of abusing his children for years, judge set bail at $1 million for joseph myre, lower providence township police say he punched, choked, kicked his children ages 11 to 13 inside his home in collegeville. the children told investigators their father forced them to sleep in mall wooden box was air holes even shot them with a electric dog collar. >> these are absolutely haneous charges, in a area where we are, we not accustom to anything like this by any means. and when it does happen, it shocks our conscious let alone everybody else involved. >> police say their investigation started after myre's wife was hospitalized for fractured skull. charges against him include aggrivated assault, wreckless endangerment. >> an elementary school? san bernardino california remains closed following the shoot that took the live of a teacher and one of her students. >> ♪ >> ♪ >> family and friends gathered

at a page vim i am, this he sang song in honor of teacher karen smile and her eight year old student jonathan martinez, city off the irks reminded the group to support the family. >> strengthen the family, give courage to their hearts, give courage to each of our hearts. and those are things that we need tonight. >> they also prayed for the recovery of another injured student who has not yet been identified. police say 53 year old cedric anderson walked into his wife's classroom yesterday morning, and pulled the trigger, killing her, before fatally shooting himself. authorities say the estranged couple was only married for few months. testimony over in the trial of three high school classmates accused in the death of another class might in a fight last year. sixteen year old amy joyner francis died after that fight in a bathroom at wilmington howard high school of technology. closing statements are expected today. pediatric cardiologist testified for the defense yesterday saying joyner-francis suffered from rare heart condition, that had been un detect the by doctors. >> secretary every state, rex tillerson, heads to moscow

man from his feet after the airline chose him to give it up. he refused to budget. one passenger said the man somehow re-boarded and was taken offer again. this time, on a stretcher. >> initially dragged him off, as you guys saw, and it was ten minute later, he just comes running back in. and runs to the back. his face is bloody. and just cleanings on to the post in the back, and just saying i got to go home, i need to go home, i need to go home. and it wasn't until like 30, 452nd later, though, authorities followed him. >> another passenger says the officers did not need to use force. >> i don't know why they did that. i'm still in bewilderment. >> passenger blames the airline saying it put the officers in difficult spot. >> i don't believe any american citizen should be treated this way. but i think the important thing to see here is the

narrative should not be that the police were in the wrong. >> passenger says the man to blame. >> pretty shocking it got to the level that it got to. in part that's the man's fault, you know, the police came on, he shouldn't have resisted. he should have just left. >> but, it was kind of unbelievable scene, when they're actually grabbing him, pulling him off the plane. >> the chicago department of aviation said it put one of the officers on leave pending review. and the federal department of transportation is also investigating. i'm andy rose, reporting. >> now united airlines says it needed those seats to fly four crew members to lewis ville. >> so when united pulled the passenger offer the plane did it make the right call? aviation attorney art or woke said he red the contract, 45 pages, apparently, he said he believes the airlines violated its own contract. >> i want to assure you and united airlines, they had no

with our jumping bunny on the seven day, but expecting this system will help usher showers saturday night, possibly showers sunday as well. i do think right now easter sunday most likely bridges in the showers in the p.m. hours, so if you are going to sunday mass, something like that for the holiday, at this point, meisha, i think we'll stay dry. >> all right, katie, thank you so much. good morning, everyone, happy tuesday. so, looking at live shot here. take a look at this. we've been talking about this, small sinkhole and repairs are underway right now. in center city, 17th street now closed between walnut and locust. you will have to use an alternate around this. fifteenth or 18th is going to be your best bet. you can see, smaller sinkhole. something even as small as this, when repairs are underway in center city, especially around 17th, that can cause some major problems. so again, your alternates, 15th or 18th, around this, will be your best bet. i can warn you now it will be very, very busy, because of that sinkhole. that is in and of itself can cause major slow downs, and it

will do so. fifty-nine southbound broad street, vehicle pulled off to the shoulder, not going it cause any slow downs. might trap your brake travel by, but overall not seeing congestion levels. airport, quick peak, take a look at the sky, gorgeous, overall things looking real nice out there. jim rahel back to you. >> thank you, meisha. small prick from the thorn of a roast put california woman in the hospital. >> jennifer said she went to grab little clover from under the rose bush, that had prick her. the next morning she woke up her left hands had swelled up. mri revealed bone infection, and needed surgery. doctors toll her the infection may have come from any back tear ya that may have landed on that thorn. >> felt like a sledgehammer was brought down on all of the bones in my hand and had broke ten, this is where they had the stitches, they went in, opened the bone. i don't have full range every motion. i don't have full feeling back in here. >> how bizarre. >> yes, six weeks later, still recovering. after nine years of pruning the roses, she said she will

hitting right around 6:30, when we really start to kind of hit our normal congestion patterns of the morning. leading up to our main hour of the rush, which is 7:00. so overall starting to slow down less than posted speeds but overall kind of holding steady where we normally should. do have accident in blue bell. union meeting road, at route 73, skippack pike, heads up on that. and also, we also have car fire out there, as well, limerick, also, kind of had this accident, nearby, that accident has now been cleared, but the car fire still out there. actually looks like the car fire has now just been cleared, and ben err road, big thumbs-up, jim, over to you. >> thank you, investigators questioning several possible witnesses, in connection to a deadly shooting inside kensington home. this happened just after 10:00 0 block every east venango street. police say they arrived to find man lying on the kitchen floor, with a gunshot wounds to the head. he was rushed to the hospital where he died short time later. >> crime scene personnel, homicide detectives are on location, processing the

scene. and detective are talking to the resident, and individuals, that are inside that -- that were inside the location to see if they can determine exactly what occurred. >> now, police are still trying to figure out if the victim lived in the home where the shooting occurred. so far no motive, no arrests. >> well, now the sinkhole meisha just talk about, spec detours around rittenhouse square this morning while workers make repairs in the middle of 17th streetment take a look, live picture of 17th street between walnut and locust streets where repair equipment just showed up in the last ten minute or so. water department officials say one of the lines broke and could take a while to fix t could be take until later this afternoon or later. rescue crews russia man into a hospital. chopper three was over the 700 belong of overlook drive warminster last night. the cause of the crash is still unknown, we're told the driver will be okay. >> philadelphia welcomes some of the military's most celebrated heroes.

actually have impact on your body, and your health? >> yes, it really does. we're in a stressful event or something coming up we get response in gear, so our adrenyline is flowing, him err alert, heart rate is increasing and we're ready, ready for that event. >> how many times of stress are there? are there multiple types? >> there are. you know, there is a huge stress. oh, the ceiling fan fell down, i avoided it, five kids, all have to be at the same place at the same time. that's stress. huge stress. adrenyline gets up there. then it only lasts few minutes or few hours, we got a test to take, meeting the boss, then we're fine. it might happen each day, but then we go to our baseline level. so we del with that. but then there is chronic stress. that's the one that we worry b that's when we're under stress and our body responding like that every day. and then that's when some health problems can occur, and that's the bulldozer effect, the stress builds up, builds up, reaches a tipping point. and then we have some difficulties in what are some

signs to look out for that time of stress? >> one of the things is anxiety. you know, we get nervous. might be short tempered. the other thing is eating. you know, we might start to eat more or drink more or smoke more. we might have physical symptoms, like stomach aches, or muscle pain, or headaches, you know, we might get really irritable and angry and we see that a lot. my gosh, trouble sleeping. and then some people just withdraw, you know, from things they like doing, withdraw. these are signs we have to be aware of that we are overstressed. >> and how can this lead to more serious problems then? >> specially people, run if families like heart disease, stroke. if we adrenyline overflowing all the time, and put more strain on our heart rate, blood pressure, higher rate of stroke, diabetes, heart disease, and even cancer it, causes inflammatory changes in our body, so it is important we recognize chronic stress and symptoms and take measures to help us. >> so clearly some pretty serious health problems if you do not manage your stress. so what are some ways to

alleve ate stress? >> one of the first things to recognize it, know that we are stressed. then reach out. but the other one is stress reduction techniques. that tends to work real well. i mean yoga, just breathing correctly through our stomach, also, exercise, get out in nature. you run all the time. don't you feel better after you run? more relaxed? you know, and socialize, a lot of times we're stressed and we withdraw. but get around people. get back to the honeys. things we like. eat better f we eat healthier, we feel better. also disconnect. we're on the phone all the time, texting, always available, have a break. give yourselves permission to not be available. try to relax. >> i'm a proponent of adult coloring books, before i go to sleep at night, half hour, sitting there coloring away with no electronic device end adjust kind of levels me out. >> you know what? we're so technology driven, gotten away from ewing creativity, our imagination, it is important that we do that, something that we like, that we enjoy for us. >> sounds good, doctor rob.
