a community comes together for an 88-year-old veteran. the victim of a brazen robbery united's latest move. what the airline is giving to every passenger on board the flight that captured the world's attention. parents on edge searching for answers nearly a week after a young girl was kidnapped and sexual assaulted. the suspect remains on the loose. police met with concern neighbors sharing with them information to protect their families. good evening, i'm ukee washington, i'm nicole brewer, jessica is on assignment. more on where the disturbing case stands. >> reporter: we can tell you new castle county police are working around the clock trying to solve this case, tonightly meeting was about keeping the public informed as to where they are and keeping their own kids safe. >> it broke my hard. i have a four-year-old. who's now five, i have the 2-year-old >> for lonny tab, nothing is more important than her

children's safety. which is why she's attending the meeting. addressing the sexual assault of a four-year-old girl in new castle delaware >> i've been having more conversations about stranger danger and about different thing that people who are not good strangers what they might attempt to do or say >> new castle county hosted this meeting at john dickinson high school hoping to promote stranger danger tips for kids and safety among the community >> whatever it takes we're going to solve this case. >> reporter: thursday at 7:00 p.m., a suspect kidnapped a four-year-old girl outside of her home playing with friends. ed after that nearly two hour as witnessed spotted the child. police led an all-out manhunt to find the abductor >> the police have been amazing, they're doing everything they can. unfortunately, there's a lot of sick people out there today.

county father accused of killing his own son. dj creato said nothing, accused of killing his three-year-old son brendan and dumping the boy's body in the wooded area of cooper river park in 2015. today, prosecutors argued for jurors to be able to travel to the exact spot where brendan's body was found. >> it's not anything other than the location and a path of this travel to get down there. it's a pivot told issue >> i don't think it's particularly informative to the jury, however, if that's what the prosecution want to do, they're entitled to put on their case >> the judge ruled the jury can travel to the site. this mother pleaded guilty to the beating death of her 33-year-old son, scott mcmillon viciously tortured for self weeks before he died. jillian tate's plea deal

prevents her from getting the death penalty. prosecutors say they will pursue against the boyfriend gary three felton the third. ancestry blows the cover of a lansdale man authorities say was using a stolen identity. this is the suspect. john vincent authorities say he escaped from a halfway house in text, went to a graveyard and stole the identity of a baby buried there. nathan laskowski. in 1996. he lived with that identity 21 years until december when when the aunt logged on to ancestry.com >> our son's birth certificate, death certificate came up, which she fully expected. after that, a marriage license came up. and so that's what started it. >> vincent is in federal custody tonight. if convicted he faces a minimum mandatory two-year federal prison sentence. a chester woman is facing charges for allegedly straw

purchasing handguns that ended up on the street she's behind bars on $10,000 bail, she purchased nine guns for a relative she believed had a criminal record and couldn't buy the guns himself. if convicted she faces a five-year mandatory sentence under the law. president trump is flipping on a campaign promise. admit the commander in chief through his support behind nate. both leaders agreed the members oh of the military alliance will increase to defend terrorism. >> secretary general and i had a productive discussion about what more nato can do in the fight against terrorism. i complained about that a long time ago and they made a change. and now they do fight terrorism. i said it was obsolete.

and robbed of items including his deceased wife's wedding ring, 10s of thousands of dollars and his '85 cadillac. the car was tracked to the 3200 block of emerald street where two men were taking into custody. >> there's a message here, don't mess with vets >> don't mess with vets. exactly. >> that brings us back to the warrior watch riderers, by the dozens joined on a ride to labuda's home. 16 hours after thieves came knocki knocking, la buda, stood stunned but smiling as neighbors were brought to tears. a gesture to make sure that a fellow veteran's terrible day didn't have a terrible end. >> escaped the situation with just a few scratches. it's unclear police have been able to recover any of that jewelry or the cash that was stolen from him. northeast detectives, alexandria hoff cbs3 "eyewitness news."

bell. holiday is mourning the death of actor and stands-up comedian charlie murphy, the older brother of eddie murphy but a comic in his own right he died in new york after a battles with leukemia. he was best known on shapell, show. he was also credited as a writer. he was 57. we learned today that the mother of david letterman passed away. dorothy became an unlikely celebrity when she began appearing on her son's cbs late night show. her most popular contribution was her coverage of three different olympic games. dorothy was 95. the crater of wall street famous charging bull sculpture said the fearless girl statue violates his rights. the artist said the new statute changes his bull into something negative. his lawyers say fearless girl

the next few days, especial for easter sunday if you have easter plans we're talk temperatures headed back to 80. the warmest easter we've had in quite some time. let's take a look what's happening. parkway central library camera things are quiet and it is mild and comfortable. although with clear skies, temperatures are dropping quickly and we will end up in the 40's in most spots, by early tomorrow morning. here's a live look at stormscan 3, which is showing a bank of clouds that came through earlier. that's moving off the coast. we had a couple of spotty showers here and there mainly north and west of the city this afternoon but the front moved out and now we got quiet conditions across the region. here's 11:00 a.m. from the leadership academy, gray, gloomy, not that pretty out there this morning, quickly this afternoon, clouds moved away, blue sky returned, and ended up to be a beautiful afternoon and evening across the area. temperatures right now still well above average at 68 degrees

in philadelphia. notice temps are dropping in some typical colder spots, millville one of those, 50 right now. it's 58 in wilmington, 58 in allentown and 47 in mount pocono. temps will be dropping. you don't need a heavy coat. what to expect, temperatures still above average. not quite as high as today. we hit 77 today's high. almost 15 degrees above normal. 92 was the record for today's date set back in 1977. next two days for rest of the work week will be more seasonal. talking highs in the 60. closer to average, lots of sunshine both tomorrow and friday. nights will be chilly. drop down at the 40's. looking at dry conditions not seeing much in the way of any wet weather. high pressure moves out as we head to the weekend. and as we head to the holiday. here's what we're looking at. this system will be moving

through the great lakes and you can see this warm front draped across pennsylvania saturday. couple showers possibly saturday evening or night as the warm front moves in. then the storm is off to the north and we're in that wedge, it's called the warm sector of the storm with a southwest wind sunday warm day. then a subsequent cold front passage sunday could touch off a shower does look like most of the shower chances upcoming weekend will be generally in the evening or at night. and most of the daylight hours will be dry, head i do not saturday, i want to show you this front creeping in from the west. here's 5:00 dry overhead. could be a shower after the sun goes down saturday night. overnight mainly clear, cooler, 47. tomorrow the beautiful april day 68 with sunshine and we keep it seasonal. 60's through saturday. chance for shower saturday night. 80 for easter. just a beautiful warm day outside for those easter egg hunts and the sunrise services not going to be that cold.

and the sixers led by three at the half. then in the fourth quarter, sixers still holding on a to a mall lead. holmes had 15 points but the sixers will lose, 114-113. we have sad news in the world of football former eagles general manager tom modrackk passed away. he spent many years in the nfl as a scout and different capacity with the steelers. he was 74. temple university announced the death of former headcoach wayne harden, the winningest coach in history. he led the team to win in the garden state bowl in 1979. the program's first bowl victory. he was 91. the mets in phillies finishing up their series at citizens bank park tonight. the phillies trying to shake off giving up seven homeowners to the mets.
