philadelphia. police now investigating whether an incident that occurred just before the shooting was related,. >> jan carabeo at police headquarters with more. >> reporter: good morning, police say 22 year old man shot in his back, who died overnight, in strawberry mansion, now as they search for his killer also trying to figure out if a fight that broke out at nearby bar had anything to do with the shooting, just about an hour ago now. >> processing all of the evidence left behind, found number every spent shell casings along the sidewalk came from semiautomatic weapon, happened before 2:00 this morning 2500 block of north 27th street police re found dollars to find the man shot and needing help. they took him to temple university hospital where he was pronounced dead short time later. now speaking to number of witnesses to support out what may have sparked the gunfire,

some sort of altercation at nearby barlow kate dollars at 27th and sergeant streets, and they say the fight started inside, and then spilled outside. >> we don't know if this was involved in the shoeing. we don't know the people involved in the fight were involved in the shooting but it is something investigators are looking into. >> now, police have not yet identified -- meantime going out to the area today looking for surveillance video of course anyone who has information is urged to call police. reporting live outside the round house this morning, jan carabeo, cbs-3, "eyewitness news," rahel, jim, back into you. >> jan, thank you. police in camden country asking for the public's help in locating a missing boy. this is 12 year old tagire butler. disappeared from his home 1400

block of ormond avenue in parkside on wednesday night. now, he is described as 5-foot three, 115 pounds, and he was last seen wearing a black shirt, khaki pants, and black sneakers. if you have any information, please, call police. some images on the las vegas strip. these planes shooting from the bellagio hotel and casino. 10:45 their time. eight responders rushed to the scene. officials say the fire was initially hard to reach because of the large fountains near the hotel, famous fountains, hotel has nearly 4,000 rooms, one of the largest in the world. there were no injuries reported. >> we learned this morning at least 36 isis fighters were killed when the us dropped massive bomb on isolated region of afghanistan, according to afghan officials. >> correspondent roxanna has more on the weapon being called the mother of all bombs.

in his back. he died shortly after being rushed to the hospital, and police tell us that a fight broke out at a nearby bar, moments before the shooting. >> there was an at case, a physical at case, that started inside, and it went outside. this happened just prior to the shooting. at this time we're not sure if this physical altercation is related to the shooting. >> investigators are speaking to bar customers and staff to get more information. philadelphia police say they're cracking down on panhandlers, but instead of sending them to jail they say they'll get them the help they need. enforcing panhandling violation was compassion, focusing on outreach rather than enforcing fines. septa police plan to dot same with underground panhandlers, but say that they're prepared to use fines, citations, as the way to force them into treatment. >> if we can help people that's what our goal is. you know, we want to try to get folks so they don't have to panhandle. and there are an awful lot of

decent people in the city who want to provide services, we just have to nudge the folks that need them. >> septa police tell "eyewitness news" the penalties will only be handed down if panhandler repeatedly refuses help through the social assistance programs available. burglar in gloucester county new jersey caught on camera wearing something unusual. surveillance video shows the thieves storming into a washington township store wearing a trash bag. this was yogy's quick shop greentree road early tuesday morning. the burglar got away with cash, the cash register, police ask anyone with information to please contact them. >> meanwhile in center city police looking for this burglar who didn't even bother to hide his face. the suspect broke into the verde boutique on 13 street, stole jewelry and left through rear door. >> state assembly candidate says he'll not drop out of the reese. brian mcdowell, who grew up in northeast philadelphia, foul real estate broke nerve wildwood.

resurrection on easter sunday. and sunday marks the tenth e virginia tech shooting the deadliest school shooting in us modern history. thirty-two students and faculty killed when gunman opened fire on the campus. news correspondent don champion spoke to survivor who has new purpose in life and a professor who helped victims cope in the days after the tragedy. >> it is hard to believe it has been ten years since the shooting. >> a decade later virginia tech shooting still haunts survivor colin goddard. >> replayed that morning over and over and over again. >> memories aren't the only reminder. he still has three bullet in his body. goddard, now pushes for gun safety reform, like backgrounds checks. he even went undercover to buy a weapon, used in a documentary. >> all my guns have never had any paperwork. >> things are framed as either you're pro gun or anti-gun, vast majority of people something in the mid. >> years later norris hall the site of much of the carnage

to maintain that, the thing that's important, did you know that pennsylvania spca does not get dime of government money, nothing, everything donor funded. woe would love some government money yes. so many needs, that sort of thing, but all because of the people like that man in 1867 who decided he couldn't stand for horses to be treated that way. we've expanded it to we take care of all of these animals. >> carol for people not familiar with the pennsylvania spca, tell us some of the daily work that the organization does? >> i think 3r's, rescue, rehabilitate, re home. some animals need just one of those services, and some need all three of those services. look, some of the animals that we've shown on these shows that we do every weekend, the cbs-3 pet project sunday morning, about 7:50 in the morning, rahel, you know that, were you there doing that with me for quite a while. and these animals are wonderful. this is a no kill facility. so the animals that are there are there until they fine

their homes. but they need to get out. they don't want to be in a shelter no matter how well run they are. animals bond, and they want to be with humans. humans if they a pay attention, many have the human-animal bond. but if you don't have that, those are people should knob be adopting, but we're saying the ones who do, really, head down to the pennsylvania spc a and rescue one of the animals bring them into the home. >> speaking that far, carol, april 30 is national adopt a shelter pet day. there are plenty every dogs and cats out there that need a home including franky here. >> including our boy franky here, yes. we're going to be talking little bit more about training, but one of the other things i want to talk about was the other part every this. this is another thing that sets the pennsylvania spca aside, that's our humane police. and you may remember that the dog cranberry. we had a ton of pictures of cranberry, and the horrible story, yes, starved practically to death. found in a trash bag, than is

an example what the pennsylvania spca did when the good samaritan found the dog, our humane law enforcement, forensics got, able to investigate, make arrest, rehabilitate this dog, our large in-shelter hospital and re home the dog. cran berry is doing absolutely phenominal. but it is just one of the many, many things that we do at the pennsylvania stspca. not only do we rescue animals, we save neighborhoods, because it bridges up the entire city when animals are treated well, the entire city benefit. and take look at this, rahel? >> i remember this. >> yes. remember? barkann wine? that's big signature event. as you know the pennsylvania spc a and cbs-3 we partner together. that's why we have the pet project. this year's event is going to be on november the fourth, saturday night, so details to follow. and reunion, rescue reunion will be on the 17th of june, almost exactly coincides with the founding of the pennsylvania spca.
