officer is in the hospital after a car hit him near the university's campus. this all happened just before 10:00 o'clock last night, police say he pulled over a vehicle on route 322 when another vehicle hit him. that car stopped at the scene, officer is now at cooper university hospital at last check there is in word on the extent of his injuries, route 322 is opened this morning. breaking news now we have just learned that a woman shot overnight in philadelphia kensington section has died. the 24 year-old woman was shot in the chest at f street and hilton just before 1:30 this morning. she was rush to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. police have in the released details on a possible suspect or said what it may have motivate that had shooting. police are on the hunt for gunman after victim is shot at b complex nightclub in philadelphia police were called out to in a nightclub on north delaware avenue at 2:30 this morning. we are told a bullet struck 25

year-old grandmother and daughter in the middle of the street and continued to try to evade authorities. >> operator of this motor vehicle gets off of it, pulls a knife out and carjack the vehicle. >> reporter: that stolen vehicle was abandoned a few blocks away and driver managed to flee again. >> fortunately for us i think, there is a lot of people coming forward to say what they saw so hopefully we will get perpetrator that was heart broking because that could have been my family, people like on these dirt bikes they really don't care about protection or anything like. that they just speed down the street. >> reporter: upper darby police say they do have a person in custody but they are just questioning, he was found in the wooded area not too far from where the stolen car was abandoned but so far in charges have been filed against him. after that six year-old and her grandmother, the six year-old is in very serious condition. grandmother is in stable condition. in upper darby, alycia nieves for cbs-3 "eyewitness news".

now philadelphia police were actually trying to pull over that dirt bike, as part of a round up of the atv's take a look at this officers seized a total of 30, atv's and made three felony arrests. this morning the red cross is helping about 162 people after a six alarm fire in passaic, new jersey. fire broke out around 1:00 yesterday, and it soon spread to all apartment buildings. and there were several collapses as the fire burned, and more than 150 fire fighters responded, and it took four hours for them to get that fire under control, meantime more than 100 people were left homeless, fire fighters say the fire may have started on the fifth floor. back here at home delaware county volunteer fire fighters are trying to recruit new members. to do it they are showing off what they do on a regular basis. take a look they hosted this practice drill, at the west chester fire department, trading center. fire fighters used a hose, ladder and skills to put out that fire.

back on "eyewitness news" today marks the 10 year anniversary of the deadly school shooting at virginia tech. on april 16th, 2007 a senior student at the college opened fire killing 32 students and professors before shooting himself. is there a memorial in place on the campus there including a stone for each victim. members of the virginia tech community say visiting that memorial is a sobering experience. >> i had a child here, you know, abe putting myself in the shoes of the parents back then, you know, what would it be like to get a call.
