live from the cbs broadcast center in philadelphia. this is cbs-3 "eyewitness news." right now at noon, dozen of firefighters battle a blaze at a historic delaware county church one day after it was filled with easter worshippers. the church dates back to the 19 century. good afternoon, i'm jim donovan. >> i'm rahel solomon. fire reached two alarms before firefighters gain the upper hands, live in upper chichester where investigators are looking for a cause. good afternoon, anita. >> afternoon, jim, rahel. firefighters were able to get this blaze under control, in about two hours. right now investigators are inside working to assess some of the damage, much of the

damage to the back of church but see the front windows shattered out. luckily no one was inside at the time. but it will still take time to rebuild what's been lost. >> lighthouse in the community is. sad to see it go. >> organist ben jones has been member of the historic presbyterian church, lives new doors down, after 8:30 monday morning he watched it go up in flames. >> we saw the smoke coming out and the parking lot light in the back was flames coming from that. and then i blinked and all the sudden the explosion of flames just up the back there. that porch mainly was engulfed. >> up to 100 firefighters returned to the scene of the two alarm blaze. >> 1885, talking heavy temperature construction, wood, wide open space, so just great grounds for fire to grow. >> despite the challenge, fire

chief craig small says crews were able to salvage much of the building which is structurally sounds. >> a shame it happened today but the guy did great job. >> he said luckily this happened one day after easter at a time when no one was inside. the rest, he says, can be replaced. >> i'm sure they'll rebuild. >> and another live look here at the damage to this historic church. church members say they did recently install two new heaters inside this church but at this time a cause has not yet been determined. fire officials are still working on that, but they say, there is no reason to believe that it is suspicious. much more on this story tonight on "eyewitness news" at 5:00 and 6:00. for now live in upper chichester, anita oh, cbs-3, "eyewitness news." >> see you then, thank you. and chopper three over the 100 block of chestnut avenue in woodland camden county. firefighters had battled flames and dense smoke before 5:30 this morning, part of the walls on the upper floors did collapse, but so far, nos word on any injuries. >> manhunt continues for murder suspect after he shot a 74 year old man, recorded it

on video, and up loaded it to facebook. the crime took place in cleveland, but law enforcement officials warning that the suspect may be in pennsylvania, after cell phone pink dollars in erie county. correspondent kenneth craig with the latest details on the case. >> killed 13 people. about to keep killing until -- until -- until they catch me. >> but police in cleveland say there is no evidence to back up that chilling claim by stiviano ends. >> so far unfortunately there has been one fatality, one homicide, in this entire scenario. we want to keep it that way. >> this morning investigators said stevens did commit at least one murder on sunday, the cold blooded shooting of 74 year old robert godwin, senior. a video of the crime was later posted on facebook. >> you say joy lane? >> joy lane. >> yes. >> after that exchange, stevens appeared to shoot godwin, got back in his car and drove off.

detective have since spoken with joy lane. >> we don't foe if she is girlfriends or not. we can't tell you where she at but she is safe. >> authorities in jose they don't know where the killer went. they think he may have left the state. >> obviously this individual is armed, and dangerous, quite frankly at this point he could be a lot of play cents. i could be nearby. he could be far away. anywhere inbetween. >> police are urging stevens to surrender, before anyone else is hurt. they are also warning people in five states, ohio, indianna, pennsylvania, michigan, and new york, to be on the look-out. kenneth craig, for cbs-3, "eyewitness news." >> meanwhile police are following leads interviewing witnesses and looking at surveillance video in their search for suspect after a violent weekends in philadelphia that carried over to this morning. one man was shot and killed about 6:00 this morning on east clementine street in kensington. police are also investigating a deadly shooting at 62nd and woodland in southwest philadelphia. authority say violence peaks when the temperatures rise.

storm chasers in the eastern part of the state captured these image of huge tornado on saturday. confirmed the tornado passed through at least two different places, there have been no report, fortunately, of damage or injuries. >> wow. >> don't want to see that. >> bees full, beautiful imagery there, glad to injuries. >> and her power, that's a lot of power today. >> all right. >> little light rain, yes, little spring rain, we need the april showers for? >> may flowers. >> yes. >> good job, guys. >> teamworks makes the dream works. clouds in place, live look at center city philadelphia, sunshine now trying to break through some of the low clouds, but still gray skies, in command, 62 degrees your current temperature, winds now out of the north at around 5 miles per hour, our dew points are elevated up into the middle 50's, so yes, when you step outside you feel that muggy factor. that will lessen, as the day goes on. as cold front is currently working through the area as we speak.

but temperatures are mild right now. at 68 degrees, in millville, near 70 degrees at our shore point, 65 degrees in allentown, live look at the neighborhood network, yes, little bit of light rain. you haven't seen it yet in rehoboth beach. look at the people on the shore enjoying the conditions, just want to jump right in there. people out of the boardwalk as well enjoying little sunshine breaking through, still some clouds on the scene but the best conditions across the delaware valley right now portions of southern delaware, had the area of precipitation, light in intensity, has been passing through the area specially in and around philadelphia and surrounding suburbs, over the last several hours. and now seeing light rain continuing to fall specially across portions of camden county, back into burlington county as we head south eastbound, little light rain passed through atlantic city into brigantine, miss i can island seeing little light rain coming down. but the trends headed into the next several hours will be the shower activity, tapering off, then see the clearing line, off to the north and west, sunshine going to be breaking out for you in the lehigh valley. we will see the cloud deck eroding to the southeast, over the next several hours with

sunshine returning even by the end of the day today, for most of us, so future weather showing us we will still see few lingering showers, rehoboth you will get a taste little light rain over the next couple of hours, otherwise clearing skies from northwest to southeast. by this evening, nice and clear, for everyone, and overnight tonight, as we push into midnight, no problems, just few passing clouds, things will quiet down as we head into the evening hours, clearing out that rain, and clearing out the clouds, less humid conditions, conditions still middle 60s, then overnight tonight mostly clear, again little chilly, certainly after 80s yesterday, 49 degrees overnight tonight. have you reaching for that extra layer, extra blanket, and we will be dropping off to near 40 degrees in the lehigh valley, some 30's in the poconos, down to 42 degrees overnight tonight. millville, we'll have the clear sky conditions, stowe will be good viewing weather, just need the extra coat for the meteor shower, runs next week through the 25th, average of 20 meteors per hour, known for bright tails lasting for several seconds. so something cool to check

best thing is laugh kerr turn our day around. certainly under stands this concept. take a look at this, you guys. mom of the year walks her little second grader max oh, yes, take a look at this, walk her little second greater max to school wearing a t recommendation costume. why? well, why not is perhaps the better question? look at this thing, you guys, the mom of two said she wore the costume for two reasons, one, to show her little ones thee don't need to care so much what other think, it is okay to be different, two, to make other laugh, which they did. in fact she said a woman driving past her on the bike yelled out thank you, i really needed this, truth be told, we all do. not only is mom setting great example for her two boys, everyone else watching by the way, but also great reminder that hey, throw judgement to the side. it is okay to let your own unique personality shine through. and i just absolutely love what this mom did with this. because it is two fold. for little boys, but it is also for the public.
