he has that story. >> reporter: wearing a dark dress suit rather than bright prison jumper we have been accustomed to for more than a year, david dj creato began hearing states case that he murdered his son. creato called 911 on october 13th 2015 to report his three-year old son brand an was missing. the court listened to the call after searching creato's haddon township in a neighborhood for several hours , a k-9 tracked his body to the wood near edge of the cooper river, three-quarters of the miles from dj's apartment. in the opening statements prosecution made the case brandon didn't walk to his final resting place, pointing out it is a long dark muddy walk at night and boy's socks were clean. >> three-year old boys don't show up in the water dead.

in jail nate after police say he sexually assaulted a 15 year-old girl who played on his soccer team, authorities say 39 year-old francisco contreras was arrested near his home in the 700 block of south street. police believe that he paid the girl for sex, after she asked him for a job with his cleaning business, and then fathered a child with her. contreras was acting director of youth soccer at the playground, he is charged with statutory sexual assault and other related charges. sun came out today but more showers, unfortunately on their way and we may hear rumble of thunder later on. meteorologist kate bilo is live on the cbs-3 sky deck to tell us about this wet weather moving in, what do you think, kate. >> we started day with cloud, drizzly and dreary and then sky broke opened just a beautiful afternoon. we have sunshine and blue skies, looking to thee, i can see some cloud creeping back into the west. and that is heralding the

to the south here producing lightening and thunder right now. thinks all movinge as part and parcel of the larger system. actual cold front is back here across the great lakes, portions of indiana and ohio. that comes through tomorrow morning. starting from 8:00 tonight until 8:00 tomorrow morning we will have a chance for pop up showers and storms. as i see that system approach it has been a gorgeous, warm afternoon, 75 in wilmington right now. seventy-seven in millville. seventy-six here in philadelphia. but behind that front is a whole lot cooler, actual front , we talk about going through great lakes is just 65 in chicago, 57 in des moines, 48 in minneapolis, contrast that with 80's here in st. louis and lexington. cold air is pushing our way and will get here by weekend. even off to the west we see kutztown, and cloud are starting to increase, just a bit but through the rest of this evening, things looking pretty nice. further west you are, quicker those included will arrive but

so lets look at what is going on we will look outside and cloud have, really over taken the sunshine here up in the poconos. we had more sun earlier but cloud are rolling in, you can see it looking gray at jack frost big boulder. temperatures air above average as we look live out toward lake. not a bad day to take a walk, hike, up in the mountains but we do have showers and storms that are moving in pretty quickly. it will get here in the next three to four hours, between eight and 10:00 o'clock. lets look at our weather watchers. they are already reporting in and loving weather they saw this afternoon. you can see temperatures all across the map are in the 70's we will start off here with albert in southampton at 73 degrees. cloud, building in but sunnies peeking out. seventy-seven down in northern delaware. we will check with our friend greg mccoy in marshall ton. he has more cloud cover but you can see photos, showing the colors are just really spectacular, all across delaware and lehigh valleys right now. love this from wayne hunter,

his neighborhood is cherry pink all over neighborhood. beautiful. evergreen tree with the pink behind it. phil sent this shot. blue skies, creek is running through. thinks at morris arboretum looking great outside. you can see we have some sunshine break through cloud. starting out dreary but then blue skies broke through and once it did the cloud broke open and we have been joying a nice thursday afternoon. it is all about to change again. lets look at storm scan three, notice to the west we have a complex of showers and storms, marching east right along the turnpike cross the 81 now heading toward state capitol. these will be moving from the west. they look like they will fist before they get here but this is a robust cell they are looking at right now, north of hageers town maryland, you can see frequent lightening and heavy downpours and thinks red shading there indicating heavy rain and that extend all the way down into portions of northern virginia. they have been marching east all day and these storms looking nasty. worst will miss us to the

south. we are not in any watches, warnings or risk zone but as we head through overnight hours and tomorrow morning actual cold front back here will come through yet again. chances for showers and storms ramp up from 8:00 tonight until 8:00 o'clock tomorrow morning and then decrease tomorrow afternoon. still some sunshine at beach patrol in margate, this is set up as we head into your weekend though to see that front, we have a new low off to the west, cool air from the north and west begins to filth inner this weekend. this storm then takes precedence, moves off the coast and a lot of it will miss us to the south but there will be chance for showers, possibly steady rain saturday night into sunday and cool air invade as well and east wind with the system off the coast. while we will get to near 80 tomorrow saturday, sunday much cooler, damp, and dreary especially on sunday. pollen levels lower on monday. they will ramp up. allergy sufferers will be feeling that especially early saturday pollen levels get back in the high range. just a quick note we have our

chip reid spent the day learning about the risks this precious species face every day. >> reporter: these tiny cubs are just three weeks old and insteadly gaining weight. they are brothers and sisters born to seven year-old cheetah minty. >> is that purring. >> no, they are actually growling. >> reporter: scrubs are required to reduce exposure to disease and human scent around the cheetah den which would upset minty. a crena biologist with the smithsonian is manager of the cheetah reproductive and research program. she checks on the young cubs and weighs them twice a week. >> does they ever get old? >> no, it is always fun to have cubs. >> reporter: scientists here hope for at lee one cheetah litter a year, and this year, they got two. twelve cubs, total. while two babies did not survive having this many cubs, born so close together, it is a virtual population, explosion. >> every day that they make it
