>> this is cbs-3 "eyewitness news" this morning. new this morning, bullet casings literary philadelphia street an innocent man sleeping in his bed is almost shot. we're live with more on the close call. >> disturbing allegations against a soccer coach. what police say he did to one every his players that put him behind bars. and after a paris landmark becomes a terror target, police say they finds evidence in the alleged gunman's car. today is friday, april 21, good morning, i'm jim donovan. >> i'm jan carabeo. rahel solomon is off today. let's get check of today's forecast with katie and meisha with traffic. tgif. >> you said it, tgif, just talking how excited it is friday. come on, katie.

>> anyone? anyone? >> do you remember the cabbage patch kid dolls? >> already off the traffic, at 4:31. >> we will be talking about important stuff in traffic coming up in a little bit. >> well, we do actually have wet weather out there that i think will mess with the traffic, little more widespread, but most of it is not here for most every you, off to the northwest corner of the camera shot here on storm scan3, obviously some rain. some of it pretty heavy. we had expected this, cold front moving through, bridges with it some showers, even couple of rumbles every thunder. at the moment i haven't seen too much in the way of any doppler indicated lightning strikes, but it is still possible that we see thunderstorm out there. the meantime, temperatures kind of on par with where they stood yesterday this same time. mid 50's generally region wide. couple of outside readings, like in lancaster, flirting with six off right now, mount pocono, at 47. and it is also worth a mention, cloud deck is pretty low. so traveling the area bridges,

for example, may run into some poor visibility out there. because the city skyline, for example, is getting pretty skewed by the low cloud deck. fifty-five the current temperature at stone harbor in oc, 52, barnegat light checks in at 49 with more of on shore winds flow there. as the day progresses, couple of showers if not again rumble every thunder around, but with time we do expect to warm up pretty efficiently, back to the 70s, no problems, so it is a spring time system for sure here, meisha, also certainly unsettled way to wrap up the work week. >> so good to know specially because already in the world of travel right now talking about something a little heavier. so we have video right now of a very serious accident that actually happened overnight in bucks county. so 95 north at route 14. now this accident happened around 2:00 a.m. all lanes were blocked, clearly, take a look at the activity from earlier this morning. all lanes like i said were blocked. one lane is open now. so you can get by. it is not going to slow you down too much right now.

but certainly will start to slow you down if crews are still out there and our servicemen and women are still out there. i would say even approaching the 5:30 mark. so see what happens there. just a heads up. this is construction, not too far away, route one southbound oxford valley, getting used to the construction, ex the off oxford valley, exit on at oxford valley. see them exit right there. another accident swenksville, heads up on this. there you go, route 29 main street at walnut st. just a heads up. this won't slow you down right now, it may be a little later. construction northeast extension, right lane blocked there, jim, jan, back to you. >> thank you, meisha. new overnight man sleeping in his bed is nearly shot when stray bullet flies through his window, ends up lodge in the bed post. >> left another man in critical condition. "eyewitness news" reporter trang do live now at einstein medical center where that victim is being treated. good morning, trang. >> reporter: good morning, jan, jim.

the man shot arrived here at einstein in a private car. he was in surgery overnight. suffering from gunshot wounds to his left arm shoulder and torso. fortunately, though, in this case, police were able to get two persons of interest in custody. pretty quickly. but take a look at the shooting scene in ogontz overnight. just after 11:00 p.m., officers were on patrol near 15th and common street when they heard gunshot and rushed over to the scene. no victim there but officers did find some 20 spent shell casings, also saw a car rushing away from the intersection, officers followed the car, saw the people inside tossed two guns out of the window. now, police were able to recover those semiautomatic guns. officers were finally able to stop the car near 21st and grange, took the two people inside that car in for questioning. now, back over at the shooting scene, police discovered that a stray bullet had gone through the window after second floor bedroom of nearby home. just narrowly missing a man sleeping inside.

>> the individual that was laying in that bed heard the gunshot, heard the bullet come through his window, but he is extremely lucky because just about 1 foot away from him is where the bullet lodged in his bed post. >> and again, police are questioning two persons of interest in this shooting. they're also questioning two people who brought that victim here to einstein. but for now, liver outside einstein medical center being trang do, cbs-3, "eyewitness news," jan, jim, back to you. >> trang, thank youment. >> in other news this morning, quick moving fire ripped through this home in the city lawncrest neighborhood. just about an hour ago, firefighters returned to the 500 block every east cheltenham avenue. firefighters had the flames under control in about ten minute, and no one, fortunately, was injured. >> disturbing allegations against youth soccer coach in south philadelphia. police say 39 year old francisco pratto fathered a child with one of his 14 year old players, the girl asked

for work through the suspect's cleaning business, instead, police say, he paid her at least five times to have sex with him. officials now want to remind parent to be extra vigilant when enrolling their children in activities. >> ask a lot of questions, you know, before they sign their kids up. they should also come, make sure they're there all the time, don't just blindly trust anybody to turn your kids over to. show up. just don't have blind fate in anybody. >> the philadelphia parks department says prado has been suspended indefinately from all parks and recreation facilities, activities, facing statutory assault and other charges, bail now set at $750,000. >> two philadelphia men are indicted on federal charges in the burglary of a delaware county gun shop almost two years ago. accused of targeting the suburban armory in collingdale back in may of 2015. the smash and crab heist

netted 19 handguns. >> what concerns us at atf, almost all stolen firearms make their hands into the way of criminals. balls of this atf, we use every available resource to identify and arrest those responsible for gun store thefts. >> authority say the suspect were identified in part by a joint investigation with county and local law enforcement. >> turning now to overseas news in paris, investigators have found shotgun and knives in the car after gunman linked to attack yesterday on, ice cyst claiming responsibility for the attack that killed a police officer and wounded three other. police shot and killed the suspect, who was known to french security services forest lamb i can activity. during a stop in indonesia this morning, mike pence expressed his condolances to the zero to the victims. >> a reminder terrorism can strike anywhere at any time. something that the people of indonesia and the united states know all too well. as president trump said yesterday in the face of this great evil, and i quote, we

have to be strong and we have to be vigilant. >> france's president said the shooting was act of terrorism. french voters elect a new president this weekend. >> arkansas, 51 year old ladel lee pronounced dead at 11:56 p.m. local time. trying to execute before lethal injection drug expires on april 30th. cleared the way for lee to be executed after rejected his appeal to halt the process. convicted in 1995 of the murder of 26 year old debra reese. >> testimony will resume tuesday in the murder trial of david creato, jr. prosecutors say he killed his three year old son brendan in october of 2015 to stop his teenage girlfriends from leaving him. brendan's mother took the witness stand after opening statements, in a camden county courtroom yesterday. the defense told jurors they will not hear enough evidence to prove creato is responsible for the child's death. the trial could last several

weeks. >> and, the penalty phase continues this morning, in the eric frein murder trial. on wednesday, a jury convicted him of killing a pennsylvania state trooper and wounding another at the blooming grove barracks back in 2014. the injury fry chester county because defense attorneys worried about pretrial publicity, frein could get the death penalty. >> more safety concerns along philadelphia schuylkill schuylkr trail. group of eight to ten teens on bikes swarmed her on the trail saturday evening while she was exercising and assaulted her. she talked exclusively with "eyewitness news." >> one of the boys who is probably no more than 12, 13 years old, road next to me when i was on my roller blades and smack me on behind. i said you're not allowed to do that. he responded ya well you can't catch me. >> similar incident last year led to attempts to make the trail safer. also working on adding surveillance system.

another groping in princeton. police want you to help identify the suspect. investigators say the suspect in this surveillance video walk up to woman near moore and spruce streets and groped her, took off down spruce street. police describe the suspect as 5 feet 5 inches tall, brown hair, brown eyes. if you have any information please contact police. >> new development on story "eyewitness news" hand before covering for weeks about unearthed graves at a construction site. most of the remains in storage contain nerves south philadelphia, money is needed before they can be moved. the matter museum has launched cam fine raise $20,000 to pay for moving costs animal cyst at a lab in camden. and it feeds to happen soon. >> the storage area is where they are located now, not climate controlled. the weather is getting nicer and warmer. we are concerned about the remains. you can see here we already have some mold growth. >> so far project donations have reached $3,400, for more information on how to donate

welcome back, get licensed or sell. that will was new jersey governor chris christie's ultimatum to the owner of the former revel casino. during his call in radio show yesterday, the governor warned current owner glenn straub without the required licensing, the casino will not open on his watch. despite the apparent snag, plans to reopen portion of the casino under the name ken in june. >> a new task force will help philadelphia pre serve its historic landmarks, mayor jim kenney inlet duels dollars the team at city hall. >> there is pressure on existing structures for reuse. and we want to make sure the

cold front, that's going to be crossing through, once it does, temperatures are going to get knocked back again. but as we take a look out to the open waters of the atlantic, we switch gears, have to talk about the tropics, for example, it is very, very rare to have a named system, and last night, we actually saw the first named system of the season. which technically isn't even underway yet. come into fruition here. tropical storm arlene, already, in the books. now, this is not posing any threat to land which is good, but it is really early to see system develop. actually, pretty far north in the atlantic. these surface temperatures are awfully warm and the conditions just conducive enough for actual named system to develop. now, it looks like it is actually going to dissipate throughout the day today. but hey, it will still go down in history as very early named system. of course showers around, some of the rain locally heavy but brief, start to break out, low 70s, overnight still will be

couple of showers if not thunderstorm popping up around the thunderstorm this evening, we top drown to 54. moving forward, there is a system that moves in here just off to the south. so-so it has been posing some tricky forecasting issues for us. but thinking at worse that you would have to deal with some showers, either saturday or sunday, no day is a wash out necessarily, but that system nearby. so certainly more clouds and cooler conditions on the way. meisha? >> all right, katie, thank you so much. and good morning, everyone, so what have we been talking about so far this morning? a very serious accident, that happened overnight, at around 2:00 in the morning. bristol, bucks county, you can see all of the activity going on here. again, very serious accident, 95 north, route 413. you are right now being diverted off at route 413. or which is also exit 40. so all lanes are pretty much blocked right now. you can try to use alternate, bristol pike, route one, will be your best bet. but again, if you approach this accident, if you head out there right now, just be diverted off.

today? >> major tax reform could be in the works. yesterday, the treasury secretary, steve, said the trump administration's plan for tax changes will come very soon, by the end of the year, the latest. that really sends the market a lot higher. today, president trump also set to sign executive order that would direct the treasury secretary to review tax regulation that is were issued last year, and determine if any impose undue burden on taxpayers. jan, jim? >> jill, a lot of people worry about money, and it turns, keeping people up at night? >> that's right. new report found that 65% of americans are losing sleep because of money. the most common concern, healthcare and insurance bills. this is followed by retirement savings, worries, and then how to pay for educational expenses. and surprisingly, paying off credit card debt, that is the least of people's concerns

particular batch. but into the evening, there could actually be gusty thunderstorm, in scattered fashion, that rumbles on in here. not totally out of the woods once this pocket every rain moves through, again toward evening could still ends up with locally gusty thunderstorm out there. meanwhile, temperatures as they stand are off to pretty mild start, 54 degrees in philly, a 4ac, 47 up at mount pocono. model wind all-in-all, we will see the breeze pick up little bit as this front crosses through, meantime today is one of the milder days of the pack, and we do have unsettled pattern down the road here. another system generally bypassing us to the south through the weekends, still close to usher in clouds, possibly shower tomorrow, then mainly to the south of philly on sunday. then into next week, there is another disturbance, that is going to build in across the mid-atlantic. that bridges additional shower chances to start the new week. so, we are just unsettled all over the place you. >> don't want to complain, because the temperatures are nice, yet kind of over the spotty rain. >> i'm with you.
