moving through lehigh valley especially just starting to creep in the city and enough to slow down evening commute just a little bit but as we widen out you'll see this will get much worse before it gets better. heavier rain showers pushing up through portions of the northe and lower bucks county, right down through center city philadelphia we have light rain, drizzle for now but thinks part and parcel of the much larger storm and as we zoom down toward carolinas, that is in store for us tomorrow. storm track ago long eastern seaboard classic set up for storm that brings heavy rain that throws back moisture from the atlantic ocean. you can see how heavy rain is right along i-95 through virginia and north carolina and that will be lift nothing our region during the day tomorrow. it will come in waves all day long. so generally scattered showers here through rest of tonight. light rain 11:00 o'clock not much going on. by buy 5:00 tomorrow morning we will see rain intensify and wall of rain should hit in time for morning commute and it comes all day this will

moment but first to our greg argos live on the parkway, how is it looking out there, greg. >> reporter: well, looking good right now, nicole. in. if. l draft experience actually opens up this thursday at noon to the public. basically, everything along the parkway is free, opened to the public with the exception here to the main stage, and tickets here to the main stage that includes, mock locker rooms for all 32 nfl teams set up, vince lombardi trophy will be set up here and set up for selfies. sure, the nation's eyes will be on the players here at foot of the art museum but if you decided to make your way to the parkway during nfl draft, there will be many other options to distract you this will be the draft experience. >> reporter: this is the manager of nfl events and said that they are expecting near pope level crowd, for the free nfl draft experience. >> given the weather we hepp it will be, you know, of course tens of thousands office people. >> reporter: with these crowd come security, police, city officials taking a walk through the site monday

today. what do you say db? >> reporter: what is up, guys, you are right, it is big week for prospects. for a lot of them they don't get to celebrate until thursday but for hasan reddick former temple star he gets to celebrate right now. this was the scene earlier today in camden. he was given the key to the city, camden native, all inside, on the battleship, new jersey. now he has a great story. he walk on at temple and then became a star. last year had 22 and a half tackles for loss, third in the nation and 10 and a half sacks he said after receiving this award the key to the city that he wants to do good for the city of camden. you always like to hear. that i will tell you this, guys, about an hour and a half ago i talk to the former nfl scout for eagles and currently a draft expert for nfl network and he believes hasan reddick could be drafted as high as number 10 in the first round to the buffalo bills. that would be massive. coming up later in the show

an unfortunate accident. father saying tonight he is praying for his son and his son's best friend hoping both of them come out of this okay. a 17 year-old, kingsessing boy who lives along 5300 block of lindberg boulevard is in the hospital tonight, after being shot, in his bed, by his best friend. >> just trying to wake the kid up. apparently he is a heavy sleeper. at some point he pulls out the gun as young man wakes up, sees the gun in his face, he reached up to slap it. >> reporter: that is when gun went off shooting the teen in the eye. authorities say he will likely lose his left eye. >> we have two kid that are going to deal with long rehabs and incarcerations which isn't good for anybody. >> reporter: father of the teen shot spoke to us off camera outside the home said this is a morning ritual two friend meeting up before school that went wrong. father added his son's best friend didn't mean to hurt him , best friend stayed at the scene and waited for police. he is in custody but has in the been charged. detectives are not sure if the

gun was legal because they are actually still trying to locate it. >> we believe the gun was walk off the scene by somebody that was there but we are talking to family members trying to determine where the actual gun came from. >> reporter: police would not say what charges the 16 year-old best friend could potentially face. they did say this is another reminder of why guns are nothing to play w reporting live from southwest philadelphia, alycia nieves for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". a judge heard arguments today that seek to overturn denied appeals for convicted murder mumia abu-jamal. abu-jamal was not in the courtroom for the hearing at philadelphia's criminal justice center. he is serving life sentence for murder of philadelphia police officer daniel faulkner post conviction relief act petition cited bias and conflict of interest as reasons why abu-jamal deserves a new trial. the judge has in the revealed when a decision will be made. a defense tern for eric frein told the judge that he is refusing to walk, talk and

heavy smoke and flames started on the fifth floor of this six story building in college park , maryland and then quickly spread to the roof. university of maryland officials called off classes due to poor air quality, senior citizens living nearby also were temporarily relocated, due to smoke. well, witnesses caught this small plane on camera second before it made an emergency crash landing. luckily all four people aboard survived, they were treated for minor injuries. the plane crashed yesterday morning in northern niche and as you can see it randed and then flipped on to its roof. officials say that the plane was having an engine trouble before it attempted to land. national transportation safety board is now investigating. harvard researchers have found a priceless piece of american, philadelphia history , in england. it is a handwritten copy of the declaration of independent two harvard researchers came across it searching the globe for every known copy of the declaration. they believe, it was written in america, in the 1780's.

for us. we are just getting the first bit of it, light rain showers, light drizzle moving through here this evening. so just a few pockets of cloud , scattered showers here and there and little bit of slow down for your afternoon commute but tomorrow it will only get worse before it gets better. taking you down to rehoboth, waves are crashing along the coast here, cloudy, foggy, coast will have the greatest impacts from this system. it is a classic coastal low with the battering east wind that we will deal with through the day tomorrow. so for this evening, light rain, drizzle, pockets across the area. it is cool, damp. dinner time temperature, 53 degrees. overnight tonight rain will pick up in intensity, breezy, chilly, low of only 49. you can see war comes through the day tomorrow, light rain, drizzle here overnight. tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m. at height of the commute and we are talking about pockets of heavy rain lifting through, take a look at 1:00 here comes heavier stuff down the shore and just keeps coming in waves through tomorrow afternoon.

it does look like afternoon commute may have a little bit of the greater impact then morning commute. here's 6:00 p.m. and late tomorrow night we will see this dry out and we will see sun returning, possibly by wednesday afternoon. it will be a slow clear as this system moves out. heaviest rain along the coast where some spots could see 2 inches. we are looking at an inch, inch and a half in the city over the course of the entire day and, of course, coast will get strongest wind as well. wind gusting to 40 as high as 50 miles an hour through the height of the storm and that would be tomorrow afternoon and tomorrow evening. so, you're witness weather three day forecast starts off pretty terrible, rain, win, thunder but at lee mother nature getting it out of her system before the draft starts , wednesday a slow clear , and thursday, for first day of the nfl draft look at that 81 degrees, sunshine. it will feel like summer. do you think that is summer like wait until you see the seven day forecast, near 90 perhaps. >> decent running weather too for penn relays all coming up.
