schuylkill, i would say just starting to build levels here as you push in the westbound direction at city avenue. overall though looking okay. jan, rahel, back to you. >> meisha, thank you. >> authority in new york city say the driver who plowed through times square killing one woman, and injuring 22 others, now facing a long list of charges this morning. >> "eyewitness news" reporter trang do, live at saint cecelia in northeast philadelphia, some of those students actually witness a tragic event, on a fieldtrip, and this morning, they're sharing their story with us. trang, good morning. >> good morning, 100 student, staff members, from saint cecelia in times square when that accident happened. fortunately, none of them were hurt. but they told us last night when they returned, that they're counting their blessings. >> tight hugs, sighing of relief thursday night, as eighth graders from saint cecelia school returned home after fieldtrip to new york

city, will likely never forget. >> i see like this lady screaming, and then i heard this car, and i got really scared. my mom turned us around and i was crying, making sure my friends were okay. >> panic and chaos ensued after police say 26 year old richard rojas plowed into a crowd of pedestrians in time square, around noon. hitting 23 people. >> i saw this car coming out of no where. >> chaperone saw this all unfold. >> he just accelerated. he wasn't stopping. hit quite a few people. >> the school says other parent helped the injured. >> it was a mess. then we saw a car smoking. >> police say they do not believe this was an act of terrorism. rojas reportedly told investigators, he was hearing voices, and expected to die. a security guard tackled him to the ground after he hit a

row of steel barriers. >> we're definitely blessed to be making it out awe life. our school is definitely blessed. we thank god for that. >> and witnesses said rojas appeared to be under the influence of something, so he did pass a breathalyzer test, drug tests are pending, meanwhile, rojas faces a litany of charges this morning, including second degree murder, attempted murder and vehicular homicide. for now live in fox chase, trang do, cbs-3, "eyewitness news," rahel, jan, back to you. >> thank you. amtrak engineer brandon bass ton waking up freeman this morning, the 34 year old released on bail last night. bostian was arrested and arraigned earlier in the day in connection to the deadly 2,015 amtrak crash in port richmond. "eyewitness news" spoke to one of the passengers injured in the accident. >> it hurt to see people go to jail. but he changed people's lives. he ruined my life. >> we filed these charges in a attempt to seek justice for the victims of the amtrak train crash. >> bostian's bail set at $81,000.

wisconsin on tuesday. wednesday and thursday saw second and third unwanted helpings of severe storms. there was also lightning, and downed power lines, and power outages. colorado even saw spring snow on thursday. and earlier in the week, may snow hit the see era. eight a year old man in lake geneva, wisconsin, had very close call when a large tree fell on his house. >> we've had a lot of storms come through. but i never had one that scared me like that. i thought god was coming down to get me. so here i am, thank god i have another day. >> a tornado killed one person, injured more than two dozen others, as it ripped through a mobile home park, in northwestern wisconsin. residents got a full day of access to their property, for the first time thursday. >> a nightmare. we're very lucky we didn't lose more lives. that's the big thing. a lot of people are hurt.

a lot of people got in the hospital. >> there was another weather-related death tuesday in oklahoma followed by yet another on wednesday in iowa. andy rose, cbs-3, "eyewitness news." and katie you also tell me if this makes sense, but i remember when i was in colorado as a reporter that when it snowed in the spring time may, heavy wet sort of like really heavy snow. >> rain and snow combined. >> yes. >> that would make sense f you're doing -- got some very, very warm air, that can be trying to work its way in, of course, with that milder air, ends up with the heavier, weather snowflakes for sure. but yes, storm system not bringing any snow at the moment across the central planes, but heavy rain currently iowa, down to missouri, storm that will eventually reach us bringing with it wet weather with time. wider spread fashion, but today, too, cold front that will be crossing through with spotty shower or thunderstorm. so we will get to in a in a second. also talk about your health when it comes to the weather. air quality isn't necessary enough qualifying it as alert

criteria, but still moderate. pollen levels remain hi, grass, tree pollen the issues at this point. uv index also very high. once more, sun block is a necessitiment and the heat index, ya, got to use caution, we do expect to reach 90 degrees. there are a lot of people out. if you look real closely, handful of folks waking down the beach, boardwalk plaza, not as many on the actual boardwalk, it is early though, so little surprise today see this many people out and enjoying it, get out now. if you really are, not comfortable in the heat, now is the time to enjoy this weather. even though it is still quite muggy granted not as hot as it eventually will be later today. and if we are as i mention expect to go hit 90 with time. union back home again saturday. looks like it will be much cooler evening, just 64 degrees, at kick-off. but i think eventually it will be into the low 70s, throughout saturday, sunday, but today is the hot day before we see that drop off. and again, that is going to be shower or thunderstorm that fires up at some point, because of that cold front

set of fish jaws. specialists think that the jaws belong to either a tiger shark or a make owe shark. they're still not sure how the jaws got there. >> i guess never know what you will get. go fishing and come back with that. >> yikes. >> here is something you may not have heard about. more and more people dipping low-fat dairy products, choosing whole milling being instead. danielle nottingham more on why full fat dairy could be the better choice for some people. >> spent most every her life drinking skim or 2% milk but full fat milk after her son was born. >> latte's, whole milk, drinking glass of milk, i'll do whole mill being yoking you. >> sarah always thought low-fat milk was better for her health, but there can be big health benefits to working full fat milk, yogurt, cheese in your diet. >> even though it is more calories, the fat keeps people full for longer err and they tends to not be as much otherwise during the day.

approach around 6:30-ish, we push toward 6:45, that's when we start to heat up. overall 42 freeway northbound at creek road, approaching 295, big thumbs-up there. for those every you crossing the jersey bridge, ben franklin bridge, on the westbound side, moving into center is he city, look at this, levels are being look great. they are looking great. we have this gas main break in cherry hill. it is still out there. crews are out there. they have it under control now. they are just working on it try to get it remedy. route zero seven eastbound closed curtis avenue westbound left lane also blocked. your alternate, park boulevard, route 38, going to be your best bet. rahel, back over to you. >> meisha, thank you. charges are filed overnight against the driver accused of running down pedestrians in times square, killing a 18 year old woman, and injuring 22 others. police have identified the suspect as 26 year old richard rojas, and says he barrelled down the crowded sidewalk for three blocks. alyssa was killed, dozen of others sent to the hospital. student from saint cecelia in northeast philadelphia were actually on a class trip there, and witnessed the horrific scene.

>> i've seen like this lady screaming, and then i heard this car, and i got really scared. it was a mess. and then we saw car smoking. >> quite a few people were hit. i just saw people flying in the air like dolls. >> who is has has been charged with murder, attempted murder, homicide. four remain critical condition. >> new this morning police in bucks count have i arrest add man who they say fired a shotgun into another drivers car. rich lard township police say 32 year old brandon grasso has been involved in three confrontations in the area. authorities believe that in one of those incidents, he shot at car's rear window in quakertown. police don't know yet what caused the three incidents. they arrested grosso in milford at 11:00 last night. meantime, still don't know what led to this car crashing into a store. over puller deli at 22nd and cambria street just before

10:30 last night. you can see where the car damaged part of the brick storefront there. fire officials say no one was sent to the hospital. >> father from schuylkill county behind bars this morning, accuse the of locking one of his children in a homemade cage. police made the discovery on pottsville, about 100 miles northwest of philadelphia. police say 38 year old cecil cuts locked his 22 month olds son in a makeshift cage. they say cuts put his one year old son in a play pen, his one day old infant in a baby seat on the floor. their mother was in the hospital after complications from childbirth. children are in the care of social service. >> happening today in new orleans, they prepare to bring down the fourth and final confederate monument there. pro and anti-confederate crowds gathered around the statue of general robert e lee last night. police took this man into custody overnight after he stood up in front of the monument, but it is unclear exactly what he was doing, the city already brought down three confederate monument. >> back here at home, camden county honoring police officers and staff who have
