12:04 pm
>> you have got to make sure you are rested, hydrated and not just with water. you need salt, coach was saying you do get electrolytes because you need to hold on to that water. you can see crews and the teams right now are starting to launch, right behind me. that is where they are launching. that is our temporary dock right behind the canoe club. what we will see today anyway is time trials. crews will roll up to the twin bridges, spin and then race from the 1500-meter mark all the way through course down to the finish line and what this time trial does is allow for seed to go take place and for semi finals later today and we have our finals, tomorrow, and of course, everyone, all have the local teams, some of those are big favorites but we have teams all over the country and international teams as well here all vying for one of if not coveted trophy pretty much in high school, rowing. so, i will send it back to jan back to you in the studio. i will say it brings back

back on "eyewitness news". it is a rare meteorological phenomenon in the grand canyon called a full cloud inversion. video shows cloud forming within the can john there, when cold air from below meets warm air from above. it is a pretty expect
12:17 pm
particular lar look for one of the natural wonders of the world and katie, i call that mother nature's fog machine right there. >> i love that. >> yeah, inversion, basically opposite of what would you expect since hot air tend to rise and cold air tend to sink , you have to see opposite going on here and that is how they form just fascinating stuff. >> yes. >> i can watch this all day. >> mess more icing. >> anybody would be by it but i get geeked out by it. >> yes. >> cool stuff. >> so as we look at storm scan three what we are finding here is not the most well organized looking storm system but certainly moisture witt. we have very heavy thunderstorm, heavy rain falling across iowa, wisconsin borders here and eventually the front, that will be dropping through our area, here as a cold front first and then another system comes through over weekend which we will see but for now we will have a couple scattered showers or thunderstorms but they could be feisty, but locally gusty storms. we are at high noon and nothing out there, a few cloud here and there and that is it but it just takes a few hours
12:18 pm
and there goes those bubbles popping up in shade of green, orange or yellow in radar 101 which means higher radar. everything is very scattered in nature, you could end up with a locally gusty thunderstorm, firing up at some point toward evening. so if you are a folks that took your bike to work keep your ears perked for thunder and seek out shade, healther if you hear one rumbling through but it will be incredible and scattered in nature and we will have still have activity on the radar to track. this is the reason, one of the reasons looking ahead to tomorrow and future weather where we will see a few showers firing up, reason i'm in the totally sold that we we don't end up with a left over shower tomorrow but mostly will end up with a dry day and more comfort. one of these days is clearly in the like the other and that is today, very steamy today, and then by tomorrow that humidity will have dropped off to a really nice low level, and noticeable one too. so saturday, sunday just feels so much nicer. when you have dew points in the mid to upper 60's, or 70's
12:19 pm
you've got humidity. remember basic dew point lower it is dryer the air. as it gets closer to the temperature more humid it starts to feel. these are hugh dew points. sixty-five is bench mark where it starts to feel muggy. for may it is not unheard of we see this humidity but it is noticeable. that is for sure. that is why people have flocked to the shore here at delaware beaches they like to call them. we have umbrellas up. good advice, but make sure if you hear thunder, head indoors , even though everything out there on the radar will be scattered, in one wants to get caught. new clearly the pool is yet to be opened but thinks at camelback. we will see shaking. thinks our camera at camelback beach. i believe they opened up memorial day. they are readying the pool for upcoming season here. definitely looking forward to the fun views we will get to see at water parks here in the months ahead. for now as we take a peak at the health report still in the ideal. tree, grass pollens are issues with the pollen levels when it
12:20 pm
comes to allergies. uv, heat index they are noticeable too. so take care in this heat. thankfully over course of the weekend we will talk about drop off almost 20 degrees shaved right off the high just like that and more storms on the way already by monday. >> wow. >> active pattern. >> absolutely, little sticky, but we have to wait a day. >> a little, right. >> we are all sweating. >> talking about sticky outside, rahel has gone outside in the parking lot with our friend from our sister station 98.1 wogl, they are here to talk about this weekend wogl american heritage federal credit union car show, rahel, looking good. >> hey there jan, yes, it is a scorcher. tomorrow will be nice. tomorrow is car show when it starts so we will get a sneak peak today with our friend from 98.1, frank and marilyn, always good to see you both. >> good to see you as well. >> thanks for having us. >> talk real quickly about the cars we might see tomorrow. so behind me is what? >> unaudible.
