pleasant hill park with the latest on the developments there. cleve. >> reporter: well we've seen a variety of assets looking for this missing swimmer. we saw a helicopter this morning and several boats, some dragging along the bottom, others we see that the men on board are looking at their console presumably using some of that scanning sonar. still nothing has turned up so far. i did catch up with one of the young men who also jumped in the river last night. >> we was just trying to have fun like usually teens do. >> reporter: kendall caesar says he and three friends were jumping off the boat dock to cool off friday night when fun turned turned to panic. >> the current we didn't feel anything and the last time we jumped in before we was going to go home, we jumped in and next thing you know we started moving. >> reporter: the victim antawn fox never made it to shore. >> one of my other friends he

tried to get him and then i tried to go and get him too but the current was too strong where we couldn't really help him 'cause we started struggling ourselves. >> reporter: eyewitness steven smith says the scene was chaotic along the dark river. >> they were all panicking and trying going in and looking for him and the current took them. >> reporter: fox's family provided "eyewitness news" with this picture and told us antawn was not a good swimmer. marine police searched along the river bank all day saturday as family and friends prayed and cried together. caesar says that he and fox were classmates at abraham lincoln high school and played football together. >> teenager thing you see in the movie where they all jump together we tried to do that last one together and -- >> reporter: we have not gotten any update from the police during the day top found a out where they stand with the search and what their plans are going forward. family left this afternoon try and get a little break. live in northeast philadelphia, i'm cleve bryan, cbs3 "eyewitness news." >> all right, chief thank you very much. now after days of warmer

weather today was considerably cooler outside. rain fell across the region. looks like more might be on the way. chelsea ingram is live in the we in the weather center. >> kind of like a reality check for us. it's not summer time just yet. current conditions across the region 62 dries degrees in philadelphia. twenty three make to it 76 today but that was after midnight and the temperatures continue to tumble throughout the day with this winter influence you coming off of the cooler water. 58 degrees in atlantic city, 62 in millville. we had 63 degrees in wilmington. you don't need me to tell me this but take a look it is much cold compared to just 24 hours ago. on an order of around 16 degrees colder in wilmington all the way to 33 degrees colder right now in atlantic city. a quick check at storm scan3 shows it's really not a whole lot going on but our next storm system is taking shape in it midsection of the country.

we'll talk about when that will bring us some rain coming up. back to you. >> firefighters working to try to contain a 300-acre forest fire in shamong township burlington county. evesham fire rescue sent us this photo of the fire that is burning off route 206 near dingle town road and bard's bridge. authorities say the fire was spotted around 9:45 this morning. at this point in houses have in danger. also tonight a manhunt continues for two gunmen who shot a two-year-old and his father on the front porch of their home in kensington. the child is in critical condition at this hour. today the mother of the child identified him as price johnson provided this picture of price to "eyewitness news." the shooting happened on the 3300 block of malta street about 9:15s the father and son were enjoying the evening outside when two gunmen on bicycles stopped right in front of their house and opened fire. the two-year-old was shot four times. >> they're driving these big mountain bmx bikes, they're

pedal bikes and i think one of them has a wide wheel in the front with colored spokes and they were last seen going west on westemoreland and then south on potter. >> authorities say the father was shot in his right northeast in north philadelphia a two-year-old boy fell out of a third story window this morning. it happened on the 2100 block of dover street about 11:30 a.m. the child is in stable condition at hahnemann hospital. still no word on how that child fell out of that window. and a nightmare for passengers on a new rollercoaster at six flags over texas. they got stranded for hours. the joker coaster stopped in the middle of the ride as a wind and rainstorm moved through around midnight. eight passengers were stranded for more than three hours before firefighters finally rescued them. a six flags spokesperson says severe head winds from the storm caused the rollercoaster's safety system to automatically shut down the road. the rollercoaster is up and running now after a safety

inspection was completed. president trump takes part in a traditional sword dance with the saudis. saudia arabia is the first stop on his first foreign trip as president. cbs news correspondent nicky batiste has more. >> reporter: president trump and the first lady received a royal welcome at at the airport in riyadh saudia arabia. it's the first stop on the president's four nation tour across the middle east and europe. the first day was packed with regal pageantry including coffee with king salman and president trump received a gold king medal the kingdom's top civilian honor. mr. trump will use the nine day trip as an opportunity build partnerships to fight isis and drum up new business to grow the u.s. economy. the saudis also agreed to invest $200 billion in u.s. infrastructure projects. >> hundreds of billions of dollars of investments into the united states and jobs,

before a turkish national tried to break into the cockpit of an american airlines flight to hawaii. passengers say the 25-year-old was unruly just before the flight began friday. he attempted to sit in first class seat that was not his. a flight attendant september him back to his seat in coach. passengers say he then mumbled to himself put a blanket over his head and started making his way toward way toward the cockpit. >> our first concern is for the safety of the passengers and the flight crew. there were no injuries aboard flight 31. interviews have confirmed that the cockpit was not breached prior previous reports. >> authorities say the suspect had been drinking before he boarded the flight at los angeles international airport. today crews in new orleans took down the city's fourth and final confederate monument a statue of general robert e. lee. the removals follow a two year debate over confederate symbols. some argue they represent slavery and injustice while others say they represent

using humor and puns the actress delivered a speech filled with notable life advice and several digs at politicians. she gave the class her top five rules for living a happy life before being presented with an honorary doctorate. >> i'm going to share a few rules that i've picked up during my life. i call them helen's top five rules for happy life. rule number one, don't be in a rush to get married. >> among her other tips always treat people with respect, be a feminist no matter who you are and ignore anyone who judges the way you look. now hundreds walked to change lives today. mount laurel, new jersey, hosted the 13th annual autism speaks south jersey walk. the fundraising event is dedicated to improving the lives of people with autism. i was happy to emcee the event again this year and there were a lot of teams out there supporting the cause. they were walking for their children grandchildren and friends.

strong winds meantime hit northwest china on friday affecting traffic on a highway that connects two cities in the region. the gusts were so strong the truck was that turned upside down on the highway. more trucks were trapped near an overpass on the other side of the highway and a truck was unable to move forward as the fabric covering the vehicle was blown off. now to archer city texas. severe thunderstorms there caught on camera. dramatic lightning could be seen for miles and miles over the north part of the state as the planes were drenched in spring rain. we were drenched this morning at least i was at that walk chelsea. >> yeah, had to put my hat on and everything try to preserve the hair. >> i know and even in some of the video we were showing everyone was that dressed in long sleeves or sweatshirts. >> it was chilly. >> it is springtime, not quite summer just yet. take a look at our neighborhood network. even the beaches chilly out there as well. i'm seeing people walking up and down the beach they're also covered from head to toe. they've got their hat on, they've got sweatshirts and

long sleeves as well. not the best beach day and kind of cool out there. take a look at our temperatures. hey, on the beaches, on the coast we're in the 50's right now. 58 degrees in atlantic city, 58 in wildwood. we've got our winds coming off the water and obviously the water temperature in the 50's. that is impacting us significantly even further inland, 62 degrees in philadelphia. we did make it to 76 today t that was after midnight, though. then temperatures really took a tumble with that easterly wind direction today t61 in trenton. we have 61 in allentown. 61 in reading. 63 in wilmington. it's right around 63 degrees in dover and we are significantly colder compared to just 24 hours ago. we're on the order of 16 degrees colder in wilmington all the way to 33 degrees colder in atlantic city. it's 29 degrees colder in trenton and right around 28 degrees colder currently in philadelphia. we have another cool day on tap as we head into tomorrow. really the theme for the next week is going to be that move back to spring because we don't have any high temperatures forecast in the 80's. it's all in the 70's for the

next week. monday 74, 79 on tuesday. 77 on wednesday and 72 on thursday. so, that is going to be our theme t we'll have a chilly start to the day tomorrow. that will be followed by a cool afternoon. again, another day with highs in the 60's. but we'll otherwise be partly sunny heading into the afternoon and then rain is going to be making its way into the region overnight sunday into monday and we'll talk more about that. here's this area of low pressure. that's going to be tracking up into the great lakes. we'll be watching it very closely. it will bring a warm front sunday night. that will be followed by a cold front on monday. so we will have the risk for showers and rain and even thunderstorms throughout the entire day on monday. so, it is going to be a mess. we're looking at anywhere from about one to 2 inches of rain as a possibility. in the meantime, on storm scan3 a live look really not much going on tonight but here's where that next storm system is taking shape over the center portion of the united states and that's what's going to be knocking on our door steps very soon. meanwhile much of the day on sunday pretty much all the day

i should say end up staying dry t here we are at 4:00 p.m. but we have that rain knocking on the doorstep of pittsburgh by the afternoon. rain is going to be knocking on our doorstep overnight sunday into monday. you'll likely be using those windshield wipers as we head into monday morning during the morning commute. that's going to continue with showers and thunderstorms all the way into the evening commute especially for areas east of i-95 and our coastal communities. we will be drying out as we head into monday night and tuesday with a brief area of high pressure and that is going to be in control. so, here's a look at what you can expect. as we head into the overnight hours tonight, partly to mostly cloudy, cool conditions. look for an overnight low temperature around 50 degrees and we should be in the mid-50's for this time of the year so that's a little bit chillier than normal. on sunday partly sunny, the average high 75. we're going to be below that. look for a high right around 69 degrees. and your eyewitness weather seven-day forecast looks like this. as we head into monday, 74 degrees but that's when we could city a good whopping one to 2 inches of rain moving our way. tuesday's going to be my pick

of the week. or at least my pick out of the next seven days. you can look for decreasing crowds so we'll have increasing sunshine leading into the afternoon and a high temperature around 79. we'll turn unsettled as we head into wednesday and thursday and then the first part of memorial day weekend it looks okay but during the second half we might have to bring some rain chances back into the picture so we'll keep a close eye on that for the next couple days. >> oh, boy. thank you so much chelsea. appreciate that. lesley is along with phils. what's going on with the phils. >> they sent vince velasquez to face the pirates this afternoon. third tinning phillies up one-nothing. andrew mccutcheon hits a line drive to right that michael frazier bob bells. to the fourth david freeze gets ahold of this pitch it goes down the left field line and stays inside the fair pole for a solo homer. vince can't believe that one and the pirates take at the lead. in the sixth two on for francesco sur vcr i.

two more runs score. vince gave up five runs in five innings and trail in the seventh right now six to two. phillies got a big scare last night. here in the seventh pitcher jeremy hellickson grabbing his side after swinging. now he would finish the at-bat and hit a double to left field. he did have to leave the game but afterwards he said he just tweaked his back he's okay and does expect to make his next start. to the basketball and the chances of san antonio beating golden state got tougher because kawhi leonard will miss the second game of the series because of an ankle injury. last night the cavs gave the celtics their worst home playoff game in history. lebron james found out he was not a finalist for the league m.v.p. kind of took it out on the celtics. the cavs led by 41 points at the half and just crushed the celtics by 44. here's lebron on not being an
