the attacker was not in the crowd. he approached from outside right at the point where the attackers exited into the lobby of the arena, many of them, meeting their parent, many of them very young, in their young teens, and the result was a crowd fled in panic. >> really confused. crying, didn't even know what was going on. believe the attacker acted on his own here at the site of the crime. however, they have an i.d. on him, potential for an i.d. he was caring identification, whether that turns out to be the actual person, the issue ahead of them, now investigating whether or not he acted alone in the preparation of this attack.

>> at 10:33 last night, the police were called to report an explosion at manchester arena in manchester city center near victoria train station. we know single terrorist detonated his improvise explosive device near one of the exits of the venue, deliberately choosing the time and place to cause maximum carnage and to kill and injury indiscriminately. the explosion coincided with conclusion of a pop concert which was attended by many young families and groups of children. all act of terrorism are cowardly attacks on innocent people. but this attack stands out for its sickening, coward necessary, deliberately targeting innocent defenseless children and innocent young people who should have been enjoying one of the most memorable night of their lives

as things stand, i can tell in you addition to the attacker, 22 people have died and 59 people have been injured. those injured are being treat in the eight different hospitals across greater manchester. many are being treated for life threatening conditions. we know among those killed and injured were many children and young people. we struggle to comprehend the warmed and twisted minds that sees room packed with young children, not as a thing to cherish but as opportunity for carnage. >> we can continue to resolve such attacks in future it take on defeat the ideology that often fuels this violence. and turn out to be others responsible for this attack, to seek them out, bring them to justice.

good morning, trang. >> well, good morning, rahel, jim. right now, police are going off of the account after witness who says she was driving by when she stopped and pulled over, because she saw two men fighting, on the side of the road. investigators are not sure if the two men new each other or road rage incident. take a look at the video of the scene of east falls from last night, happened just after 7:15, roberts avenue and fox street. witness told police she saw one man come out of brown mini-van. then began beating up another man who had just come out of black car, the woman said third person slid open the van door. that's when the man who was winning the fight pushed the victim inside the van, and continued to beat him up. the third person then jumped into the victim's car drove off. >> that's when the person who was winning the fight, got into the driver side of the machine i van, with the victim still laying in the back,
