well, the rain makes a return, we will tell you just how long it will stick around this morning and when you'll need to get ready for some thunderstorms. and face-to-face president trump and pope francis meet for the first time since exchanging tough word during 2016 presidential campaign. how meeting went and gift exchanged. jury will have its first full day of deliberation is today in the trial of david creato, junior. we will tell but arguments that jurors are considering as they weigh his fate. today is wednesday, may 24th good morning i'm jim donovan. i'm rahel solomon. all that plus scary warning some people in new jersey saw on their tv's. but first lets check the road with the meisha and forecast with katie. >> we will go outside with a

wet coming in. that will pose a challenge. katie will have more. a lot of construction so far this morning. >> wet weather is still out there. it is coming down heavily in the west and northern most chester county, pretty soaking rain currently coming down. this is what we had expected this latest batch of moisture still trying to make its departure. this will not be an all day event but morning rush is absolutely and clearly going to be impacted if you are ready to hit the road. longer you wait, the more less likely it is that there will be showers around but i think we're stick for a few more hours and through the rest of our show here on "eyewitness news". yeah, we will have wet weather to track for sure but there is a back edge at this point working its way through virginia and that is moving through our area here again in the next couple of hours. so right now, as it stand, it certainly is a, you know, damp start to the day here but we are at 57 degrees, and feels like at the shore, and in the

philadelphia mountains 52 degrees. relatively high dew point, the we have a lot of moisture here leading to soaking rain in a few spots. >> i can see that all right, katie, thank you so much. this is an accident we had, earlier this morning, so what we are looking at is video from the vine westbound ramp to schuylkill westbound where the accident was involving, yikes, two tractor trailers by the way. ramp was, closed, you are being divert todd schuylkill eastbound ramp but i think, hopefully now, that should be clearing out of our way. here's a live shot of the vine now so that accident has just, been cleared if you are pushing in the westbound direction that ramp to the schuylkill. you will get a thumbs up there that happened earlier. it is causing a gaper delay but we are looking good there now. then we have this accident, montgomery county, county line road closed between stump road and the alternate limekiln pike is your best bet and then we have construction to talk about when we come back in the next 10 minutes. rahel, back to you.

new this morning police are investigating after they found a man shot dead in west philadelphia office's arrived at 900 block of south 58th street just after 1:00 a.m. there they found a victim in his 20's or 30's with the gunshot wound in the back of his head. he died at the scene. police do not have any suspects at the moment. man is fighting for his life after a shooting in north philadelphia, it happened shortly after midnight on the 2700 block of north dover street, and police say officers patrolling the area heard a gunshot, and they rushed over to find victim shot in the head. investigators say 40 year-old victim does live in that area and they are checking surveillance footage to identify that gunman. the search is on for another shooter this time in olney after a man is found shot multiple times. responding officers, found the victim collapsed on the sidewalk last night. while looking for clues officers found shell casing is in a nearby driveway. twenty-three year-old victim ran a block before collapsing, last check he was listed in critical condition.

murder case against david creato, junior camden county fat's cues of killing his three-year old sonnies in the hand of the jury. >> "eyewitness news" reporter trang do is live, outside camden county courthouse where deliberations will resume today, good morning, trang do. >> reporter: verdict could come as early as today as jury will have first full day of deliberations. they began yesterday but only had 20 minutes, after a long day of closing airing oops. >> the prosecution wants to you believe... >> reporter: david creato's attorney richard, spent an hour and a half tuesday explaining to the jury why his client is a grieving father who lost his son not a calculating killer as painted by the prosecution. >> he is a victim. >> reporter: creato is on trial for murder of his year-old son brandon. creato reported toddler missing on the morning of october 13th 2015. three hours later a k-9 discovered the boy's body lying on the rock in the wooded area of cooper river park. in an autopsy it was ruled as

a homicide by undetermined cause. in their closing arguments prosecutor christine shaw suggested he smothered his son , child's clean socks pointed to the fact that someone placed him at the park >> smothering brandon stops every single one of his problems. >> reporter: biggest problem according to the prosecution was creato's teenage girlfriend who didn't like being around the little boy. shaw's argument laid out for the injury any a long list of text messages between the couple. >> utterly consumed by the idea that she was leaving him, that she was dumping him. >> reporter: defense attorney argued thane investigators failed brendon by not fully looking into other possible suspects and lead including not testing the boy's body and pajamas for dna and in his view doing a poor job of interviewing sex offenders in the area. >> i won't play on emotion but brandon creato deserved better than that. that is absolutely unforgiv able. >> reporter: jury of nine

women and three men will re convene here at the courthouse at 9:00 a.m. we are live in camden i'm trang do for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". meanwhile in other news jury selection continues today in the sexual assault trial of the bill cosby. these are courtroom sketches from yesterday. lawyers for cosby accused prosecutors of trying to keep african americans off the jury but judge stephen o'neill is reject ago this argument for now. eleven jurors have been picked so far and only one is black. total of 12 jurors and six alternates will be seated. cosby denies charges he sexual ly assaulted a former temple university employee in 2004. a philadelphia man is free after serving 24 years in prison for a crime he did not commit. sean thomas stood outside the state correctional institution in schuylkill county yesterday afternoon. earlier in the day the philadelphia district attorney 's office vacated his conviction and life sentence. thomas told "eyewitness news" that he is now looking ahead.

>> i have my mom, my nephews, something that i didn't do, before i will do now when i was a teenager. now that i'm a grown man. >> in 1994 thomas was sentenced to mandatory life without parole for 1990 murder for a man in north philadelphia lawyers with the pennsylvania innocence project helped free thomas using evidence that prosecutors haven't seen before. next month the district attorney's office will hold a hearing to decide if they will retry thomas for that case. a rowan university fraternity is offering a reward for authorities saying their house was set on fire. flames consumed the house and several cars on hamilton road in glassboro last week. people escape the flames. authorities have ruled the fire arson and now frat is offering a $2,000 reward for any information leading to an arrest. police say a wooden fence down the street was also set on fire. happening today meet ago begins hateful messages in montgomery county. resident are responding to

disturbing flyers, like these, left on driveways in recent days, and the meeting will be a town hall format where people can express their concerns and figure out ways to respond. it will be held it in at 7:00 at upper dublin township building in fort washington. and some folks in south jersey got quite the scare when a nuclear power plant warning mistakenly aired on television. this is warning that went out last night, the message was alerting people to a nuclear power plant's mergecy at the hope creek plant in salem county, really scary, right. it turns out it was a drill mistaken for an actual emergency and message went out in error. >> oh, boy. police in manchester, england said they are making progress into investigation into monday night's bombing there officials identified 22-year old salman abedi seen here on the right as suicide bomber behind the attack that killed 22 people at an ariana grande concert. authorities raided his home in southern manchester yesterday arresting a second man in connection to the attack.

officials say that five people suffered, minor injuries in the evacuation and airport was briefly closed as a precaution stephen colbert will not be find by federal communications commission for a joke he made about president trump. on the may 1st broadcast of his late show the comedian made a joke suggesting the president trump and russian president vladamire putin had engaged in the sex act. remark prompted backlash against colbert with many trump supporters calling for him to be fired. in a statement, fcc said they have reviewed the complaints and conclude that had there was nothing actionable under fcc rules. past two possible sainthood is moving forward for beloved teacher from delaware county. >> many students in our area have been inspired by father william atkinson. meeting at monsignor bonner archbishop prendergast high school in drexel hill discussed next steps, for father at kin sin looking in the possible miracle that could ab contribute todd him. sledding accident in 1964 left him a quadriplegic and he died

we will be stuck in the cloud and with this batch of moisture still working its way through. we still need time to get this on out of here, and so sluggish batch of moisture but is there a back edge to it and would i say no later then lunchtime thinks long gone. there is a new system getting its act together across mid to lower mississippi valleys. this is moving in by thursday bringing additional rain, thunderstorms. our active pattern continues. lets talk about the next few hours, this really is going to be a nuisance rainfall but timing is clearly less than ideal through next few hours these showers will be working their way out this particular model suggest it is long gone by nine or 10:00 a.m. i wouldn't be shock to have a left overcome lunchtime but generally again it is look like these cloud will break before it is all said and done for some sunshine. it may not be a bright, sunny afternoon at least we will get some of it through second half of the day. tomorrow pack the umbrella yet again by friday even a

good morning, welcome back we are dealing with residual showers out there right now. they will not be with us all day but we have to contend with them for next couple of hours. timing is less than ideal here and is there a batch of steady rain through north and western suburbs, chester county, parts of the berks county getting in on that, montgomery county, so expect that we will to have dodge some rain drops here as we walk out the door, certainly as we hit the roadways. but with that said we have a light at end of the proverbial tunnel. we will see some sunshine before being all said and done here. northeast wind tricky, keeping us under cloud cover but at this point we are drying out through second half of the day dropping back to the mid 50's tonight and next storm is moving, folks, we will wake up again to more rain, tomorrow. now it looks like that will be with us all day, tomorrow before we start to clear out, headed toward upcoming weekend
