this is cbs-3 "eyewitness news" this morning. overnight, after already wet weekend, we'll tell you when we have a chance at seeing some sun. >> one person is dead, another hospitalized after a deadly stabbing. how that person is doing this morning and the key piece of evidence police are still looking for. and heart break lingers in a philadelphia community after a deadly house fire. this morning, we are learning the names of the two children and grandmother who were killed. >> good morning, it is monday, may 29 memorial day, i'm rahel solomon. let's get a check on today's for was can matt peterson and meisha. >> happy holiday. happy memorial day a lot of people affected today. a lot of family stuff, and the roads, we're anticipating them

to be good. i know we have rain out there, but overall so far so good. >> usually you'll know better than me, but usually less traffic on these holidays. even with a little bit of rainout, there see on storm scan3, hopefully doesn't cause too much after problem on the area roads. but it is going to be a wet morning for us, pretty much throughout the entirety of the delaware valley seeing the showers extending all the way from the northern shore points, just little north of atlantic city through center city back up toward the poconos. getting little more moderate to heavy rainfall, maybe isolated rumble every thunder thrown in the mix, but overall it looks lick pretty much rain. for the moles part temperatures in the 50's, we do see couple of 60s, dover at 61, wildwood at 06 degrees. but we're at 59. our winning temperature across the area. wilmington, philly, millville, 59 degrees, waking up this morning, to 58 out toward reading and lancaster, little cooler up even into mount pocono there. 50 degrees with the rain, could lead to maybe not the

greatest morning for us in the poconos. see 9:00 through about lunchtime, still looking at the chance for shower, 64 degrees or so by 9:00. seventy-two by noontime. then all the way up to 08 degrees this afternoon, homing for few peaks every sunday shine later on in the day. meisha, you know, again dealing with the rain this morning, but at least we do have little bit of light, figure tiffly, literally at the ends of the tunnel with sunshine this afternoon. >> matt, not getting ready for bed, oh, i get, thank you, good morning, so like matt said yes today is one of those days where travel the commute the congestion probably not going to be an issue. it will be those wet roadways for those every you primarily coming back from your family festivities probably later today. so today kind of keeping you company, showing you what's going on, don't anticipate much other than like we are talking about wet roadways, you can see here 95 south at cottman, tail light eastbound direction, headlight web

"eyewitness news" reporter trang do live at temple university hospital where the victim social security treated. good morning, trang. >> good morning, rahel, police tell us the survival victim, 57 year old man, in critical condition here at temple hospital after stabbed multiple times in his head and chest. now, second man also found with stab wounds did not survive. take a look at this video of the scene last night. around 9:15, police officers responded to an apartment building on the 3400 block of frankford avenue in the city's

harrow gate section of kensington, directly across the street from job win terrell mentally school. now in an apartment officers found a man around the age of 40, with stab wounds, all over his body. paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. officers also found 57 year old man in the same apartment with stab wounds to his head and chest. paramedics returned him to temple hospital where doctors are working to save his life. now at this point police are not sure of the link between these two men, they've also not made any arrests or recovered the weapon. but for now, live from temple university hospital. i'm trang do, cbs-3, "eyewitness news," rahel, back to you. >> trang, thank you. >> and, in delaware, police in new castle county on the hunt for shooter after gunfire sent 14 year old girl and 38 year old man to the hospital. officers found the two shooting victims 700 block every north van buren street wilmington last night. both victims in stable condition. investigators still trying to figure out motive for the shooting.

>> and, a 19 year old man recovering this morning, after police say he was shot seven times in west philadelphia. police found the victim yesterday evening along del month mansion drive fairmount park. victim rushed to the hospital where he was last list in the stable condition. no word on any arrests. >> and investigators trying to pinpoint what sparked a house fire that killed three people in north philadelphia. nine year old prudence figueroa, seven year old dean figueroa, and 54 year owned grantor grandmother died sunday morning, roughly 100 firefighters answered the call when flames swept through the home montgomery avenue. adam teal urging everyone to be vigilant about fire safety. >> our folks are making rescues, and protecting property 24/7. it is the same time, we just, just cannot do this alone. i mean, we got to have help. really, really are imploring everybody to take charge of your own fire safety. >> and the children's parent were able to jump top safe i the red cross is now assisting

them. and the red cross also helping another north philadelphia family after fire damaged their home, two story row home caught fire sunday afternoon on the 600 block of west annsbury street. firefighters had it under control in about three minute. no word on how the fire started. >> philadelphia police also trying to figure out what caused a car and dirt bike to crash in the city juniata park section there is happened in the intersection of whitaker and wyoming avenues just before 7:00 last night, police say man was thrown from his dirt bike, when it collided with a car. we are told the 33 year old victim was returned to temple university hospital, it is not however clear if he was a driver of the dirt bike or the driver of the car. that will victim is in stable condition. and tragedy during fleet week. ' neat navy sky diver dead after in jersey city yesterday afternoon over hudson river lib bert i state park. four parachute jump first were performing demonstration when the parachute for one of the sky divers failed to open. he landed in the water.

he was rescued, returned to the hospital, but died a short time later. >> i ask for all of your prayers at the navy seal community, we lost a true patriots today. >> something everyone was enjoying and changed real quick. just to hear somebody died like that, and seeing it happen, little disturbing. >> apparently a lot of people saw it happen. officials say thousands of people were watching the show when the accident happened. what caused the parachute to malfunction is still under investigation. >> and, today of course is memorial day when americans remember the soldiers who paid the price every freedom with their lives, media among the communities holding parades to honor our fallen heroes, yesterday the legendary budweiser clydesdale arrived in the delaware county community. they road down state street, the media fire and police departments led the parade followed by veterans. >> and philadelphia also remembering america's fallen soldiers, the independent seaport museum holding ceremony aboard the cruiser olympia a the ceremony at 2:00 d

along in the process, very well. and are actually ahead of schedule. roxanna, cbs-3, "eyewitness news." >> and the time now 4:43, matt in for kate think morning. katie of course enjoying a day off. matt, probably a lot of people enjoying a day off. looks like it might and dreary monday. >> we've had hit and miss shower chances throughout our weekend, but looks like this is going to be the wash-out of the day specially in the morning. if you are just getting up, maybe do you have to go to work, maybe even up early and going to maybe try to enjoy all of the end of this holiday weekends, you are waking up to some showers out there. future weather you can see, we start to clear things out, even out toward the mid to later morning hours. now, future weather again even though it pushes precipitation out early, it is hanging out midday or so. here is lunchtime, still out see trenton out toward the southern bucks county area even down in toward camden getting some showers, maybe little more moderate rainfall coming in on future weather model. toward lunchtime, that will continue to slide off to the east, we go through the

afternoon, could see few peaks of sunshine later in the day, by 4:00 o'clock maybe few spotty rain showers out there, that's the good news, really looks as though the heaviest rain is going to be falling early on in the day, and then again, as we get to the afternoon, if you do have any outdoor plans, you might not have to cancel them. just keep ion what's going on, because again few spotty showers could be out there through the afternoon, toward evening, overnight tonight, we will be dry, going to be cloudy to mostly cloudy across pretty much the entirety of the region, get into tuesday everybody headed back to work for sure, could be bit after messy commute for us, few showers early on in the day on tuesday, then we watch as another boundery comes through, on really kind of tuesday evening, and then early into the nighttime hours on tuesday, that could bring some showers and maybe rumble every thunder before nice wednesday. jersey shore today, breaks every sunday shine, hopefully in the afternoon, again showers early on in the day, 78 degrees for the high temperature, memorial day forecast 80 degrees for the afternoon high, looking for showers in the morning, breaks every sunday shine in the afternoon, then dry night tonight, 60 degrees for the

overnight low temperature, getting a look at the seven day forecast, 79 for us tuesday, and then those 80s and 70s kind of flip flop, wednesday, thursday, and toward friday, but the good news, really starting on wednesday we will be nice and dry. the next chance for shower, after tuesday, not going to come until it looks like this coming weekends, meisha, looking pretty good. we have the drier wet and of course the 70s and 80s. >> have to be a little patient but we can take it come wednesday. thank you so muchment happy memorial day to all of you. so, yes. we're not going to expect a lot of congestion, we can expect specially early hours, how much, that being said, take look at the vine eastbound, already do have some your friends and neighbors out, there not quite sure what they're doing up this early on this holiday, but i'll tell you some of us have to work, they're probably some of the few. i do not expect that it is going to be bumper to bumper conditions on the vine any time soon if at all this morning. this is what happens. boulevard headlight moving in the southbound direction at wissahickon. see again we've got couple of people out there.

what i want to pull your attention to there is guy putting on the brakes, very wet out there, slippery conditions, so even though not going to have the congestion, bumper to to bumper, take it easy because if you do have to drive this morning, very slippery, the schuylkill near king of prussia headlights moving in the eastbound direction, this is what it looks like there, you can see, just basically anywhere that we're slowing on the camera shot, looking very, very wet. construction city avenue north and south between lancaster and bryn mawr avenue, right lane compromised, starts at 9:00 a.m., carries you through 3:00 p.m. and also, reminder of some track work we are talking about coming up in the next ten minutes or so. rahel, over to you. >> thank you. as matt said probably dreary day. here is something to bryant your day, community in bucks county came together to save ducks, trapped in a storm drain. how adorable. firefighters and police officers in falls township team to up rescue seven ducklings yesterday. this was just outside an apartment complex. neighbors, they also joined the rescue effort to lift the animals to safety.

the morning, we will be watching for the cloud cover to slowly try to thin out, but it doesn't look like it will be a real sun filled afternoon. highs up near 08 degrees later in the afternoon hours, as well, storm scan3, showing all of the showers out there, again, we are keeping an eye on it, going through the rest of the morning, into the afternoon, temperatures in the 50's, currently, and we will be topping things out later this afternoon in the 80s, see the temperatures down the shore also 60s, 50's, meisha. i know lots of people already did their driving, driving back from the shore later today. so anything going on on the roads here this morning? >> not really right now. little later we will want to pay attention to, but right now still early on a holiday morning, not many people out there unless you have to work like we do. see the vine, pushing in the westbound direction, and the eastbound side. looking very wet and very slick. soap even though not tapping the brakes because of bumper to bumper conditions, we certainly probably are going to be tapping the brakes
