says officers woke woods who had extremely slow and slurred speech. the 41 year old golfer issued a statement, blaming his dui arrest on prescription medicine, said, quote, i want the public to know that alcohol was not involved. i didn't realize the mix of medications had affected me so strongly. >> police say he failed a roadside sobriety test and took him to jail but they confirm no alcohol in his system. >> his life had been chaotic, and difficult, i think, for several years. >> woods was once the world's greatest golfer, winning 14 majors, and 79 career victories on the pga tour, not won major title since 2008. his personal struggles became tabloid in 209 when he crashed his suv into a tree, and revelations of extra-marital affairs led to his divorce, also undergone four back surgeries.

and you can now fly directly from philadelphia to ice lan. the inaugural iceland air flight will take off from ice lan's capitol later today and arrival at philadelphia international airport around 7:15 tonight. it will then turned and, make its first direct trip back about an hour later. that's when it will make the roughly six hour trip four times a week through the end of september. >> and, visitors coming to philly over the next couple of weeks will have to miss out on one of the city biggest tourist attractions beginning today. the area around the iconic rocky statue on the parkway will be roped off for renovations. that means, that visitors won't be able to get close enough to take pictures, it will last a few weeks, meantime visitors can still channel their inner rocky and run up the art museum stairs. so you still have that. vacation season is here, it is that time of year many of us look forward to, me, too, but wait until you hear how many people actually don't use their vacation days. we'll have the results after new survey, meisha? >> we heard it, it has been proven time and time again. even the smallest acts every kindness can make big

>> right? >> you got to take a road trip right now if you want to actually see sunshine. but eventually, again, this front that's stuck in place is going to get cleared out. high pressure will take it place, we will get in on the beautiful sunshine like they're finding out across the great lakes region, for now you just have to deal with the scattered showers, even rumble every thunder at some point. i have not seen any doppler indication locally of thunder or lightning, but see thunderstorm went through north central, northeastern pennsylvania, up through up-state new york and potentially we end up with heavier thunderstorm at some point later today toward evening, especially true, for the west most suburbs outside of philadelphia. future weather reflect that nice limiter i talk about initialization with future weather. it isn't exactly how it looks on the map, but it is a good guide for timing purposes. so, placement is a little off. little removed to the south than where it really should be, but again, good guide, by 3:00 p.m., still have scattered showers to dodge out, there toward the tail end of the day notice some of these storms get little

feisty, especially, if you are traveling west on the turnpike maybe headed out toward the state capitol of lancaster county may run into heavier downpours, but still out there toward evening. then we should catch bit of break. i think could still be stray shower around tomorrow morning, but generally tomorrow afternoon, that these start to fire up again, from another piece of energy that's moving along this same stationary front, and working it way through, again, some of those storms could be heavier toward night fall. so, it is kind of like the same idea from day-to-day. but tomorrow look like it is a little brighter. it is also milder. you'll see that in the seven day. for now, win speeds, the reason i show this more than anything, it is on shore. that is where that blanket of cloud cover is coming f just not going to see that sun penetrate through the cloud deck. >> yes, great afternoon, outside palmyra nature park, nothing really prep bye this just dreary early start to the afternoon. looking at the temperatures, we showed you local zoom, or

meeting a woman who is gifted with the heart to serve others in more ways than just one. officer sherrie harris has been a member of the baton rouge police for for 11 years and counting, something she has always wanted to do, protect and serve. she good at what she does and she loves it. but the heart is a place. sherrie want to do even more. she remembers hearing a statistic about children currently in school or starting school, who are two level or more behind in reading. a subject sherrie knows is important, it spark an idea and jumped at the opportunity to begin visiting he will henry school a miss her busy days helping little ones in need after helping hand. one of the first school she visited immediately paired her with lili anna, her new reading buddy who sherrie visit regularly. at first she didn't want lilly anna and the schoolmates to know she was a police officer. why? she didn't want them to feel inch tim dated but as it turns out, lilly anna's grandmother is a police officer. true match indeed. now for the first time the

interesting in having big buddy tutor seems pretty cool for most of those little ones. officer harris finds this work so rewarding she has created volunteer program called service smile within the police department to encourage her co-workers to spend some of their downtown helping little kids in reading or in math. sherrie says there is something about having a one on one sharing section, that can make you feel like a total rock star. and i could not agree more. >> always love seeing police officers in the community. >> same here. and the fact that they're so busy, too, and they're carving out the extra time, the time we might have to give to others. >> all it takes is five minute of your day to make someone's day. >> healing soul for the food when you give out of yourself. >> lou exciting. >> just goes to show that with that motivated heart a lot of good can come from t way to be a shining example of greatness, sherrie, and quick reminder that if you have any great story ideas send them my way to meisha p johnson on facebook or meisha on twitter
