>> live from the doctor. bs broadcast center in philadelphia. this is cbs-3 "eyewitness news" this morning. well, developing right now, neighborhoods on edge, this is new video from doylestown. one of several bucks county communities being urged to shelter in place, as authorities continue their search for an escaped prisoner. we'll tell you how the suspect tricked authorities, and managed to get away. >> and, happening today. after years of accusation and month every legal wrangling, the day has finally come. we're live in norristown where all eyes will be on the start of bill cosby's sexual assault trial. >> london bridge has reopened after another bloody terror attack over the weekend. i'm meg oliver, i'll have the latest on the investigation coming up. >> well, today's monday june 5th, good morning, everyone, i'm jim donovan. >> i'm rahel solomon.

working its way through. so, with that said, already, if you look real closely, little light of day just beyond the lights on the board walk here. outside boardwalk plaza, all calm, very tranquil start to the day here, i would not call this is the best beach day certainly. but, there will at least be some breaks in the precipitation, this isn't all day event with rain, for anyone, that said, but your current temperatures kind of run the guam out. mid 60s in the city, still in the 70s at the shore point, and only in the 50's up in the mountains, but once more, anyone fair game to see bit of wet weather specially through the p.m. hours. that's likely whether it starts to i can pick up for the philadelphia region in general, but, yes, there will be at least some limited sunshine, not much of it, we still, how much, meisha, have the chance to rebound to near 08 degrees today. >> oh, katie we want to get off this roller coaster, just want to get off the ride already. thank you. looking outside right now, all right, so the good news, for the primarily most camera shot we're looking at right now, looking predominantly dry. so, right now, if you are headed out the door right now, you should be in pretty good company. looking at the schuylkill at

girard, headlights eastbound direction, but i will say schuylkill starting to heat up just little bit. that's typically what we see on monday morning cracking into the 5:00 hour. forty-two freeway northbound, approach 295, what you are working with there, i would say 42, also, just even in the past ten minutes, starting to heat up just little bit. delaware county 95 north at 452, looking good, pretty quiet, maybe starting to build up little bit. take it up to the airport, same story. no delays, no concellations at the airport yet, but keep checking in, make sure nothing comes up. jim, back to you. >> thank you shall meisha. developing this morning, just learned the name of the escaped prisoner who has part of bucks county under a shelter in place order. police presence has increased within the last hour, near this home around easton and edison furlong roads in doylestown. we now know the police are is her clinic for daniel, he was in custody for what they describe as low-level failure to appear in court. well the search began last night near lower state and bristol roads after police say escaped while being transported. >> i heard all of the cops are flying over, over the house,

and i got ahold of my brother. he came downstairs, and the whole street was lined with cop cars. i was afraid to come outside. prison is right up the street. so this stuff can happen. >> part of doylestown, warrington, chalfont, remain under shelter in place. we are told that sell bee told deputies that he was feeling sick, when they pulled over, he shoved a sheriff and made a run for it. police tell us that sellby is wearing orange shirt, jeans, work boots, and he's still handcuffed. here's hoping they finds him soon. also in bucks county black bear was the talk every town around feasterville near the intersection every street road and bustleton avenue where the bear spent much of yesterday high up in a tree. well, just ten minute ago, we learn the barajas since come down, not exactly clear though where he went. yesterday authorities shot the bear with two tranquilizer darts, so he may and big groggy this morning. that bear was first spotted wandering around a nearby residential area and how about this? eyewitness video shows him

opening up a gate, and running into someone's yard. >> ran through my front yard, our neighbor told us, i thought he said a deer, turns out it was a bear. once everybody got the first word everybody kind of stayed inside and until we figured out what was going on. >> and authority do believe this is the same bear spotted last week in doylestown. well, bill cosby's sexual assault trial is set to begin in montgomery county today. >> seventy-nine year old comedian will face two women who are testifying against him. "eyewitness news" reporter trang do, liver outside the montgomery county courthouse with more details surrounding this case. trang, good morning. >> reporter: good morning, rahel, jim. balls of all of the media attention surrounding this case, the jury of seven men, and five women, is being busted from pittsburgh, and will remain sequestered. now, we will hear from andrea constand in her own words for the very first time, but we do not expect bill cosby to testify in his own defense, but here is a recap of the charges he's facing. now, cosby faces three counts of felony, aggravated, indecent assault against andrea constand, former temple

university employee, who became friendly with the comedian. now, constand says cosby drugged and assaulted her while she was incapacitated inside his elkins park home in january of 2,004. now, over the years, more than 50 women have come forward with similar allegations, against bill cosby, but only one of them will be allowed to testify in this trial, in addition to constand. now, attorney charles berk err of kline and inspector sat down with "eyewitness news" to explain why. >> and the purpose of her testimony is to show that mr. cosby has acted as to other women in a way that's similar to what miss constand says that happened to her. that parallel is relevant. the judge has decided, is relevant to his intent, his motive, his patterns, his habits, and his practice. >> and bill cosby is expected here at the courthouse, around 9:00 a.m., if he is convicted co-face up to ten years in prison. now, we are told this trial is

expected to last about two weeks. but for now, live from the montgomery county courthouse, i'm trang do, cbs-3 "eyewitness news," jim, rahel, back to you. >> trang, thank youment. in other news this morning, closing arguments will be held today in the trial of lee donald kaplan. he's the 52 year old bucks county man accused of raping six girls who were living in his feasterville home. all of them testified in court. prosecutors say a couple quote gifted their daughters to him because he helped them financially. the girls mother has pleaded guilty to child endanger. ment kaplan faces rape, sexual assault and conspiracy charges. if convicted, he could spend life in jail. >> well this morning, a delaware judge is expected to sentence the two girls charged in the death of amy joyner francis. a 17 year old teen has been found guilty of criminally neglect homicide in the case. in april, of 2016, cell phone video showed her beating joyner-francis at howard high school of technology in wilmington. the judge found a second teen

guilty of conspiracy, both teens will likely avoid jail time, because they're minors. >> overseas now, politicians of the united kingdom return to the campaign trail today. campaigning was briefly suspended over the weekend after saturday night's terror attack in london. correspondent meg oliver, still searching for suspect. authority in the uk continued their hunt for accomplices in east london this morning. rounding up several people at two addresses in the region, in connection with saturday's terror attack. on sunday police swarmed apartment building in the suburb taking several into cuss today day. resident there says he recognized one of the three men killed by police after allegedly caring out the attacks as his neighbor. >> had a young wife, two children, so a toddler and recently born baby. >> the suspected terrorist used a van to mow down pedestrians on london bridge.

>> this morning, rare look at big tornado that that touched down in canada. >> check out this incredible video, happened in albert a moving at about 30 miles per hour, and as intense as this looks, surprisingly no one hurt. the tornado lasted only few minutes. file this one under things you don't see every day. tornado apparently not enough to stop a man from mowing his lawn. see him there in the orange shirt, orange or red there. picture of the tornado, see it churning as the man goes about his business, his weekly chores apparently, his wife captured the picture, shear said her husband was fully aware of the tornado, but was clearly nor wide. little more than a mile away from their house at the time. >> this picture has been shared thousands every times. >> maybe they had company coming over? >> oh, okay. >> katie shaking her head. >> well, what would the company do? i have a feeling i know what

you're going to say katie? >> i don't have to say anything, i don't have to say a word or touch this one. >> pretty self plan tory? >> don't mow your lawn when there is a tore made snow. >> the lawn can wait, people. oh, come on. >> here-here. okay, let's talk about what we have up our sleeves for the weather here. that's definately just some unsettled weather for a few days, i don't think we are talking tornado activity, but could be gusty or more nasty thunderstorms at some point later today, specially true the northern half of our area. but could be some heavier storms through southern new jersey, delaware, so anyone really fair game to see wet weather here today. but, certainly will be a little heavier in some spots, that wet weather, and there might be some heavier thunderstorms that company it, too. so looking at storm scan locally right now, we did have some thunderstorms rumble along i80, since basically moved out to sea over long island issue more than anything at this point. but you might see little hint of sunshine out there today. little hint of it. it is mainly going to be cloudy overhead until the next rounds every wet weather comes in. and that comes courtesy of

area of low pressure, that's developing, and eventually going to work its way in here with, again, more showers, more thunderstorms. so, any time of the day is prone, but specially the p.m. hours that are most prone to see some showers, some thunderstorms return to our area. meanwhile, here is the severe weather threat, mainly the northern most counties. philadelphia, not included in this marginal risk, nor is delaware, the entire state of it, and let alone most every new jersey, but if you go up to the lehigh valley, the poconos, certainly, and again the i80 interchange, part every berks county, could be heavier storms for you, later on today. and i think lawyer len have a lot more in the way of heavier storms to track than i will through the course of the morning. she'll have more in the p.m. hours. meanwhile, not the prettiest beach day. i won't lie to you. if you wanted to go hit the shore you may have brief opportunity to do so, just don't bank on heck of a lot of sunshine, the uv index low, which is helpful when it comes to skin cancer risk, but always want to latter on the sun block, no matter, the condition is piers through the

clouds. watch for showers, storms to redevelop. high hits 79. meanwhile looking forward, this unsettled pat earn will continue at least through mid week. we should quiet down for the tail end of the work week with more sunshine, meisha? >> all right, katie, thank you for that. and, looking outside on your roadways, so far so good. fifty-nine south at cottman, come around the s curve, make your way toward center city. this is you what working with. overall really good. exactly what we want to see moving into the 5:00 hour specially on a monday. we know mondays will be so busy. then looking at the boulevard, cool shot here. boulevard at fox street. looking just as it typically does, it doesn't matter what direction moving on the boulevard right now, slowly starting to build levels, but still traveling at posted speeds. the vine, it was not closed from the overnight construction tonight, but it will be tonight through thursday night between the schuylkill and broad. just heads up on that for your morning commute plans. for the rest of the week, pushing in the westbound direction, you can see, sole taillights going off, as you jump on the schuylkill, moving in the westbound direction, again, eastbound side look being pretty good. overall looking okay there. and then we do still have
