us. it's been a beautiful start to the weekend and if you got outside today, then you're lucky. felt more like summer out there. "eyewitness news" at penn treaty park this afternoon where folks were out and about busy sunbathing soaking up the lovely conditions. meteorologist chelsea ingram is tracking the temperatures for us. how hot is it going to get chelsea. >> definitely feeling like summer and more so tomorrow and the start of next week. current conditions across the region, low 80's millville, 87 right now in philadelphia, 83 in allentown. we're in the 70's a little bit cooler down the shore, 78 degrees in wildwood and 75 degrees and currently in mount pocono. why are we warmer? well, it's simply because of the wind direction. the wind direction coming more out of the south and west and that's what's going to help to pump up that heat as we head into the next several days pulling in the warmth, and it's also going to be pulling in the humidity as well. the summer like day is setting us up for a summer like

evening. 70's at 10:00 p.m. warm at midnight 74 degrees. only dropping down into the upper 60's as we head into the overnight hours. we're heating up the heat is on as we head into sunday, a heat wave is expected in the forecast. not only are we talking heat we're also talking humidity then of course will make it feel even hotter out there. i'll have details coming up in a bit. back to you. >> thank you so much. new at 6 o'clock tonight t-a call for action as family and friends walk in honor of autumn pasquale. you might remember the 12-year-old girl was killed for a bicycle in clayton, gloucester county. "eyewitness news" reporter cleve bryan is live now. he's in clayton with the very latest details for us. cleve. >> reporter: well, today's clayton day a time when this small town in gloucester county comes together its a tight knit community and one that's wrapped its arms around the pasquale family. >> we're going to keep going. >> reporter: gathering in the park dedicated in autumn

pasquale's name members set out in a walk of remembrance. autumn was killed by two teens in her town allegedly over the girl it's bike. the boys justin and donte strangled autumn and stuffed her in a recycling bin. autumn's father anthony is trying to raise support for new jersey to enact law that would hold negligent parents responsible for their children's crimes. it would be called autumn's law. >> there has to be some kind of consequences for parents of a minor with mainly with felony charges, something put in place that the parents are aware that if their kids keep doing this not only do the kids get punished but at the parents would be punished. >> reporter: an online petition for autumn's law has nearly 16,000 signatures and the pasquales are hoping that a local lawmaker will taken

their cause live in clayton, cleve bryan. >> firefighters in darby battling a three-alarm fire in a building on main street. this fire started just after 4:00 p.m. and we're told those flames are still not under control at this hour. so far there are no injuries to report and no word yet on what may have that sparked the blaze. a drexel student in critical condition after she was struck at 38th and market around 2:30 this morning. police say the student suffered severe head injuries. doctors are treating her at penn presbyterian medical center. police say the driver stayed at the scene and so far authorities are not filed any charges. and the search is on for a robbery suspect who stabbed three then lawncrest. it happened on the 600 block of mayfair street just after 3 o'clock this morning. investigators say all three victims were stabbed several times in the upper body. right now they are in stable condition at einstein medical center.

philadelphia police meantime continuing their investigation into a deadly shooting involving one of their own officers. that investigation includes surveillance video and now we're hearing from the family of the man shot. "eyewitness news" reporter alycia nieves has more. >> reporter: a man was shot and killed by a philadelphia police officer. around that time thomas jones was driving for work and heard about the incident on the radio. >> i just really didn't think nothing of it at first. i just kept driving until my wife called me and when i heard her crying. >> reporter: through tears his wife explained the man police shot and killed was david jones, his son. >> i'm just still like in shock. like i'm not really, mad but just, you know, just in shock. >> reporter: thomas jones says his 30-year-old son was a truck driver like him who had just gotten married four months ago. >> he was always the jokey laughy type.

he was not what they probably portray he was. he wasn't violent. >> reporter: authorities are still investigating the officer-involved shooting but so far do say on thursday night david jones had a "violent encounter with police. police and witnesses who were with police say an officer got into a confrontation with david jones along whitaker avenue. after witnessing him driving erratically on a dirt bike, the officer frisked david jones and found a loaded 9-millimeter gun. according to police jones grabbed for the gun. one witness even told authorities he tried to tell david jones not to do it. >> he said he, himself, looked the guy in the face and said, don't do it, man, don't do it. and as if to say don't pull that gun out. >> reporter: police admit that there is surveillance video that they have viewed that appears to show david jones being shot in the back as he ran away from the officer. the commissioner has said that that surveillance video does concern him, that it does not appear to follow department

protocol but that the shooting may still be justified. in philadelphia f-alycia nieves. cbs3 "eyewitness news". comey claimed initially the president encouraged him to drop the investigation into former national security adviser michael flynn. president trump said he never said that and he also said he never asked comey for his loyalty. but the president didn't give a clear answer to that whether tapes of those conversations exist of the multiple investigations into the trump campaign's contact with russia are continuing. and today we have learned actor adam west television's original batman has passed away. family members say west died peacefully in his sleep on friday night following a short battle with leukemia. batman reruns turbo boosted adam west to global hero status long after his three original batman seasons ended

in 1968. west told bryant gumbel he portrayed playing the lighter version of the caped crusader. >> we did it on several levels, for the adults and for the children so that as you got older you see the fun and the humor in it, as kids you would love the adventure. >> adam west played himself on the big bang theory and several other sitcoms. he was 88 years old. shelter pets getting a second chance thanks to some veterans who don't mind having a little company around the house. today was veterans pet adoption day aboard the battleship new jersey and "eyewitness news" was there in camden. shelters from around the region paired dogs and cats with those who served our country. some of the vets are still healing from emotional wounds from military service. volunteers bringing new life to vacant lots near

>> well, you can call it a primal showdown here a bear and her cub had a little run in with a coyote in l.a. county california and the standoff caught on home surveillance video. with the bear and the coyote after scraps isn't the trash can. homeowners say they have spotted that bear before. handle control is on the job. this lemonade truck didn't make it very far. the new england lemonade truck ended up over a seawall in rhode island and into the sand below when the driver somehow lost control. witnesses say the driver hit the wall backed up hit it again. fortunately nobody was injured. and a new mural pays tribute to the first female firefighter to die in the line of duty. community leaders gathered for the lieutenant joyce craig dedication ceremony. craig died while fighting a west oak lane house fire in

december 2014. she was last assigned to engine 64 in lawncrest. >> i painted some of joyce's part of the mural with macai. it makes it an impactful experience. >> james heinz also on the mural as well. he died in the line of duty along with terri mcilvaine in 1997. heinz grew up in lawncrest. alex scott's lemonade stand for hope it's living on as the annual lemonade days continue. this is actually the stand that started everything, the original alex's lemonade stand. "eyewitness news" at penn wynne elementary school in wynnewood montgomery county. alex's friends and family continue to honor her dream of somehow finding a cure for childhood cancer by holding a family event at her school every june. >> everybody is just great, nice and gracious and caring and loving and hopefully there will be a cure and there won't

this evening. and it's definitely feeling like summer as well. it's even really nice down in rehoboth at boardwalk plaza. take a look at this. lots of people still out walking the boards and we even have tons of people who are still out on the sand even at this hour and that is just a testament to how great it feels and how summer like it feels this evening. let's take a look at storm scan3 t a live look. things are quiet around the city but it's a little bit of different story when you head up towards allentown, just an isolated shower up there. could see some heavier downpours with this cell as it moves through but otherwise things stay quiet in the city tonight. we're quiet into delaware, we're quiet into southern new jersey as well. just a very nice quiet summer like night setting up. we officially made it to 88 degrees. that is 7 degrees above average for this time of year. definitely a summer like day and now we're down 87 in philadelphia p83 in allentown. 85 in trenton. it's a little bit cooler down the shore. upper 70's to right around 80 degrees in atlantic city.

we're looking at 85 right now in wilmington, 86 in reading a little cooler in mount pocono as well with temperatures checking in in the mid 70's. that is all going change as we head into tomorrow and really the next three days. so, with three consecutive days with temperatures forecast in the 90's, we are talking about a heat wave in the forecast and not only that, we're going to be challenging our record high each day which right now that's 95 degrees. on sunday set back in 1986, monday set back in 2015 and on tuesday that was set back in 1956. so, 93 sunday t-93 monday and then we're talking 94 degrees on tuesday. not only that, but the humidity is going to be on the rise as well. so, the actual moisture content in the air right now the dewpoint is measuring around 54 degrees but that's going to be going up and it's going to be making it feel more in the steamy category especially as we head into your monday and tuesday. so, it's going to be the combination of heat and humidity moving forward over the next three days.

here's a look at your forecast t high temperatures across the region. we're forecasting a high of 93 degrees in philadelphia. 92 in allentown. 85 in mount pocono. so, kind of comfortable out that way. 93 in reading. 93 wilmington. looking at widespread 90's across the delaware valley. we will be a little bit cooler down the shore. it's going to be a nice beach day as we head into sunday. you can look for high temperatures there in the low 80's. the ocean temperature right now at 63 degrees. so, here's a look at your forecast as we head into the overnight hours tonight. it's going to be a very summer like evening setting up but not really the most comfortable night to have windows opened because we're dropping down into the upper 60's as we head into the overnight hours. for tomorrow, look for a high of 93 degrees. it's going to be mostly sunny, it is going to be hot and it's going to be at the rule of the game as we head into sunday, monday and tuesday as i've been telling you t on tuesday, that's probably going to be our warmest day and it's probably going to feel the warmest with heat index values in the upper 90's.
