story, the search for a teenager disappeared while swimming. i'm ukee washington. jessica has the night off. police in hamilton to township mercer county are calling the search and rescue a recovery operation and the search will resume in the morning. two teenagers went missing swimming in a marshy area this afternoon. one of them was able to get out of the water and police tell us the missing boy is 17 years old. tonight the clean-up is underway from a severe storm that rolled through the region. there is plenty of damage as a result. "eyewitness news" reporter alexandria hoff is in northeast philadelphia with the details. >> reporter: ukee, we're here at roosevelt boulevard where we did notice all of trees blew over in the same direction. not great news for the homes that are situated right here but many expressed gratitude they did not topple into traffic. severe weather moved quickly

>> that ain't no joke >> in the city's logan section an enormous tree was up rooted pavement and all. >> it was like boom. then next thing you know, this car got smashed and everyone started run >> i got closer i saw the car crushed. like unbelievable. and coming from the roof. >> reporter: no one was inside of that vehicle. someone was inside of this home near rhawn and roosevelt boulevard >> my son was sleeping. >> reporter: the branchs somehow missed that window where his son slept a few streets up. a checkers had damage. trees were toppled in new jersey near moorestown calling garwood road to be shut down. wyncote where a falling tree snagged wires. it's among thousands across our area who lost power

>> we came from the supermarket. >> reporter: just as fast as it came and went, so will the remains of the timber it brought down. fortunately we did not receive word of injuries caused by the falling trees. reporting live in northeast philadelphia. alexandria hoff cbs3 "eyewitness news." thank you. meteorologist lauren case is here to show you how one storm caused so much widespread damage >> the last of the storms moving offshore, mostly clear sky, it was essentially one severe they don't remember that made a b line across the delaware valley bringing damage with it as it held its strength. you can see as it starts to develop in early afternoon hours, through berks and montgomery county chester county through center city philadelphia. south jersey and then off, we did have the secondary cells.

it was the one cell that brought count trees and power lines, wind gusting over 70 miles per hour in some spots. and we'll check in on some of the storm damage reports. a lot of damage in center city philadelphia, bordentown new jersey atree down on a tractor-trailer. pottstown trees and wires down, numerous large trees down in radnor and delaware county. south philly, a large tree down in point pleasant. definitely very fortunate that we didn't see injuries from all of this. the damage was a handful of numerous damage reports that came out from the severe thunderstorm but we do have a secondary chance of storms into friday and saturday with tropical moisture. at this point, the models consistent showing us we'll see scattered showers and thunder shower activity. that's when we could see isolated severe storms once

again and potentially heavy rainfall, we'll talk more about this and clearing for the second half of the weekend. making up for a beautiful sunday and all that coming up in your forecast in a few, ukee. >> thank you. >> tropical storm cindy weaned a bit. but the storm is still powerful and very dangerous. as it nears land fall it whipped up waves and cautioned flash flooding, four inches fell nest in new orleans and many areas from texas to florida could see another eight inches of rain before it's over. some areas could see a three-foot storm such. it's already turned deadly a 10-year-old boy was killed after getting hit by a log washed in by the storm surge. the judge in the bill cosby trial released the james of the jurors. david spunt is in our satellite center with why this could make a retrial tougher. defend? >> reporter: this is the list of the jurors but we're not sharing

specific names unless the person gives us permission. the judge in this case surprised many by releasing these names, a jury expert the a jury consultant he said what happens will pose another problem if and when the case is retried. as bill cosby walked it of the montgomery county courthouse following the mistrial announcement saturday. the jurors in the case snuck out the back doors. hoping to remain anonymous. many thought they would never deal with the case again after all, they were dismissed for good. four days later. judge steven o'neill granted a motion to make the names public, all 18. 12 jurors and six alternates. all from allegheny county and spent more time deliberating than listening to actual trial testimony. one juror made it clear with this sign on the front door. no interviews about the case. >> i think it's interesting that >> mark is known my many in the

legal community as the juror whisperer. a jury consultant and founder of magna legal services. it creates complications with picking a new jury for a possible retrial. >> why would you want to participate. i mean, who wants to be bombarded? there's certainly some people i think that would -- that likes the attention, but there's also a portion and maybe a larger portion that would prefer that their names never game public >> he says there's no specific rule for releasing names, every judge makes his or her own decision. the judge did have stipulations. jurors could talk publicly about how they felt but could not comment on other jurors' discussions or votes. the prosecution in cosby's defense team agreed on one thing, they didn't did not want this list out. they feared it would make a new

trial incredibly difficult. david spunt cbs3 the second day testimony in the seth williams federal corruption trial focused on spending habits. witnesses included the manager of the union league in philadelphia and employees at the nursing home where his mother lives. the nursing home employees testified that williams dodged bills and calls asking for payment for his mother's care. union league said he spent thousands on fine dining. police in maple shade happened hyped the iron hill brewery. eyewitnesses reported hearing five to seven shots. the male victim, 26-year-old of wilmington borrow was found on the loading dock ramp. police are investigating the murder of a woman found dead in her swimming pool. chopper 3 was over the victim's

home, she's been identified as michelle long. her cause of death is blunt force trauma. police continue to search for suspects. officials are referring procedures after the accidental release of an inmate from prison. a paperwork mix-up at the precinct led to the release of attempted sexual assault suspect russell bryant tuesday afternoon. bryant was at the 18th to be arraigned. after that, he was released on those charges only. >> this shouldn't happen in a perfect world. we have to figure out what we need to do to make sure this doesn't happen. thankfully there was no catastrophic consequences. >> bryant was rearrest weather he showed up at drexel university police to speak with them. tonight the fbi is investigating the stabbing of a police officer in flint michigan

as an act of terrorism. he stabbed a police officer lieutenant jeff in the neck is the happier in flint. he says he had large knife and shouted the arabic phrase for god is great. he's hospitaled in stable condition. steve scalise's condition continues to improve one week after being shot and wounded in alexandria virginia. doctors say he's in fair condition. hospital ads highs starting rehabilitation. scalise was shot in the hip when a gunman opened fire on a republican baseball practice. today the fbi confirmed the gunman acted alone and the shooting was not connected to terrorism. tonight president trump is touting his administration's accomplishments. he held a promises made promises kept. he urged senate republicans to add more money because he want a plan with heart. the president told the crowd some of the plan for a southern

day of summer. once storm rolled through we dropped from 86 to 73. we're dealing with cooler temperatures right now, 68 in trenton. 60s in millville, same in atlantic city and 50's in poconos. stormscan 3 mainly quiet. skies clear outer. still dealing with a couple of downpours. that activity will start to taper back as we head to the next 45 minutes. produce could produce wind gusts reported to 72 miles per hour in conshohocken. think about hurricane force is 74 miles per hour. high wind gusts in 50 miles per hour in cape may, barnegat light house, mt. holly and we saw numerous down trees and power lines. but the storm rolled through, our digital content director captured this beautiful rainbow outside cbs3 studios.
