meisha's on vacation. >> i feel like we should text jim this morning. wouldn't that be fun. >> good morning, guys. route 55, that accident is there one fatality we will tell but that, coming up. >> weather has calmed down from yesterday's storms. that is good news. we will battle sun glare in a half an hour. keep that in mind if you are waiting, watching, maybe half an hour and then hit the road here but regardless it looks like a pretty nice day just hot and certainly turning more humid if you like it hot, this is day for you. yesterday with those thunderstorms, we have a trough that was digging in. relatively weak all things considered but those storms ended up with some gusty wind and good heating of the day and they lasted a while. they didn't fizzle as they moved east. this is still, leaving behind a handful of cloud but it is really nice beginning to the morning for us. this is not a typo, it is actually below 50 in mount pocono, much milder by

comparison off to the south here. southeasterly wind starting to take grip once more not a strong wind per se but southeasterly flow is what is keeping us in the heat and in the humidity and around the rest of the region we have a couple out liars that are dropping in the 50's this morning but it does still feel muggy and will feel more so as day goes on. hot afternoon f there was a excuse to hit the pool, pat, this is it. >> today is one of those days. yesterday those storms rolled through in northeast philadelphia, and this is what happened, as i move out of the way here. this is boulevard at rhawn street. we have one lane closed in the inner lanes because of those trees hanging over the side of the roadway. so, as you know that area you have to go underground and trees are hanging over the side. they have got that closed. not sure when they will clean that up. hopefully by morning rush but not quite sure, about that just yet. in new jersey, route 55 we have had a fatality with an accident, overturned tractor trailer and a koran fire,

thinks causing some major delays, and will be, as the morning progress necessary this area. it is one fatality right here sad to say. as we go to the cameras, main street in lower southford. it was main street and now back, main street and lower southford a road closed and car hit a pole right here and maybe you cannot see it in the top corner but the accident is up the roadway just a little bit. over in new jersey route 130 southbound at dunnsville, jug handle is close because of construction that might be due to those trees that have flipped over on to the roadways, jan. >> pat, thank you. new this morning a bizarre chain of events when a seven year-old child is broad away from the pizza shop in west philadelphia "eyewitness news" reporter frank does live in kingsessing where that strange owe deal came to an end. good morning trang do what do we know so far. >> reporter: first and foremost that little seven year-old girl is okay. she slept through the ordeal and did not wake up until she was removed from the minivan

which you can take a look here is still on the scene along with the tow truck that was involved in all of this but here's what we do know. police say a man, woman rather was park outside her job in west philadelphia dominoes, clocking out for the night when a tow truck drive repossessed her minivan. seven year-old daughter was was asleep. as driver was pulling away from forty-fifth and chestnut the driver says a number of people began yelling at him but he continued to drive away mother then called 911 to report that her child had been taken with her van. officers were able to stop the driver about a mile and a half away at 50th and wood land. >> she was still asleep when vehicle was towed. i'm not ensure she knew she was being taken for a ride on a tow truck at this particular time. >> obviously still a lot to sort out here at this time, it is too early to tell if any charges will be filed. coming up at 6:00 hear directly from the tow truck driver about what he says

happened. we're live, i'm trang do, cbs-3 "eyewitness news", jan and rahel back to you. >> interesting, trang do, thank you. see you then. nearly 2,000 homes remain without power this morning after powerful storms rolled through our region. this was the scene on the 7800 block of limekiln pike in philadelphia's business oak lane section. strong wind uprooted trees there and knocked out power, fortunately no one was injured millions of people along the gulf coast are bracing for more rough weather as tropical storm cindy continues to move closer to land fall. >> cindy already began making her presence felt yesterday bringing high wind, flooding and tornadoes to parts of the region. correspondent hanna daniels has the latest. >> reporter: heavy rains, strong wind, battered galveston texas overnight as tropical storm cindy inched closer to the gulf coast. cindy began hitting parts of the region hard wednesday, toppling trees in biloxi, mississippi and flooding low

lying area. >> water is coming up at our place and we had to take off because i think the road is going to be flooded. >> reporter: with up to 15 inches of rain predict for some spots the national hurricane center has issued a warning of potentially life threatening flash floods. >> the rainfall, coupled with the already high water that we're seeing is it is really there is not a place for anything to drain. >> reporter: some residents say with forecasters expecting an above average hurricane season they are prepared for cindy, but saving their panic for now. >> this one is just going to bear down and stay in. >> reporter: at least one death is being blamed on the storm, a 10 year-old boy in an alabama beach was struck and killed, yesterday by a log, on the shore by storm surge. >> the child sustained very severe head injuries, had to be pulled from out underneath the timber. >> reporter: the shore system is predict to take a turne hitting mid-atlantic coast with heavy rain by the weekend

hanna daniels for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". and back here at home crew ness hamilton township mercer county are calling search and rescue effort for missing swimmer a recovery operation. search efforts for a 17 year-old boy, were called off late last night and are expect to resume later this morning. police tell us two teens were swept away yesterday afternoon while swimming in a marshy area, near west cot avenue. only one made it back toeshoe. >> it reached out, trying to grab him, and in a ditch, and i took him away from my hand. he went down. he was going under. coming back for air. going back down, backup for air. and then we let him around the corner and who sight of him. >> multiple new jersey law enforcement agencies including state police are assisting in the search efforts. jurors names are released just four days after the bill cosby sexual assault trial is declared a mistrial. judge stephen o'neill granted a motion, to make the jurors

we have road rage video in southern california, a video begins with the motorcyclist and driver getting too close to each other. motorcyclist kicks the car, the car swerves, bumps motorcycle hits a barrier and then skid back into traffic hitting another car. the freeway 14 we are told one person suffered minor injuries but no word what caused this chaos. i don't know if there is any cause for that. act of terror canadian man remains in custody accused of stabbing a police officer at a flint, michigan, airport. police raided the suspect's apartment in montreal, quebec. the accused attacker amore fat uti shouted god is great in arabic and stabbed the lieutenant in the neck. he is in stable condition. bond hearing for that suspect is set for next week. congressman steve scalise continues to improve, after he was shot in the hip last week. he is listed in fair condition louisiana republican and house
