good morning from the studio 57 newsroom at studio 57 in new york. i'm meg oliver for anne-marie green. it's in danger of being scuttled itself. a vote before congress adjourns for the july 4th recess is in jeopardy. gop lawmakers from all wings of the party are withholding support. seth lemon is in washington with the latest. seth, good morning. >> good morning, meg. a group of conservative senators say this plan isn't fiscally conservative enough and others are concerned about rolling back the expansion of medicaid with division growing among republicans. there is little time for back and forth before a vote if senate leaders have their way. >> i want to see a bill with heart. in an interview with fox & friends weekend president trump expressed confidence the senate bill will pass even though more an more republicans

will say it's no good in its current form. >> i think we're going to get it. we don't have too much of a choice because the alternative is the dead carcass of obamacare. >> kentucky senator rand paul, one of the original republicans to speak out against the plan say it's too similar to the landmark. >> it's a false promise to say, oh, yaerks insurance premiums are going to go down but we're keeping 10 of the 12 mandates. it's a foolish notion to provide something you can't provide. >> senator susan collins says she's been meeting with a group of fellow republicans unhappy with the proposed cuts to medica medicaid. >> there are about seven to eight people in that group i can't speak for them, but suffice it to say they're genuinely concerned. >> they've been pushing for a reform before the recess but some on chile say that's too soon. >> we don't have enough

information. >> hopefully they'll come sit down. >> they'll stop sabotaging obamacare and we'll sit down and make it better. >> the budget office is expected to provide its estimate and cost and impact on the bill as early as today. with every democrat to vote no on the bill, republicans can only afford two votes to pass it. >> seth lemon in washington. thank you. ahead on "cbs this morning," house minority leader nancy pelosi who helped shepherd through the affordable care act when she was speaker. president trump also questioned why former president obama did not do more to stop reported russian meddling in the 2016 election. >> obama knew about russia a long time before the election, and he did nothing about it, but nobody wants to talk about it. the cia gave him information on russia a long time before they even -- you know, before the election. and i hardly see it.

it's an amazing thing. in other words, the question is if he had the information, why didn't he do something about it. he should have done something about it. >> it was the "washington post" that first reported the administration struggled with how to handle evidence that russia tried to interfere in the election, fearing they would try to influence the election themselves. the supreme court could rule on president trump's travel ban on people from muslim majority countries as early as today. this is the final day of the court's current term, but it usually issues decisions on its most important cases but the justices could release rulings later this week as well. and there are rumors that justice anthony kennedy, a critical swing vote on the court is considering retirement. retirement announcements usually come the last day of the term. firefighters are battling a fast-moving wildfire in north los angeles in santa clarita.

the fire was sparked when a car crashed into a tree yesterday afternoon. mandatory evacuations have been issued in some neighborhoods. at least 750 acres have been destroyed. the fire has been 50% contained. a san francisco shopping center had to be put on lockdown after numerous fights broke out. police responded to the westfield slopping center last night. people resisted or fled as police were detaining suspects. several officers were assaulted and injured. the severity of their injuries is unclear as is the reason for the fights. a 14-year-old girl is in stable condition after dropping 25 feet from an amusement park ride into the arms of a man standing below. >> oh, my gosh. oh, my god. the accident happened saturday at the six flags great is skate amusement park north of albany, new york. the girl was on the gone go la

ride. the man and others ran under her hoping to break her fall. i yelled up to her, drop, i promise you i'll catch you. she heard me. >> howard was treated for a minor back injury. it's unclear why she fell out of the ride. her brother was not killed. at least a doone was killed a dudsen are missing. the boat was overloaded. no one on board was wearing a life vest. the boat sank within minutes. 99 people were rescued and some 40 others made it to shore on their own. why the boat sank is unclear. in eastern pakistan at least 153 people were killed when an oil tanker truck exploded. villagers raced to the scene of the overturned tanker with fuel containers when they heard the announcement over a mosque lout

speaker that the tanker had sprung a leak. then the truck exploded. witnesses say victims were trapped in a fireball. back here in new york the empire state building was lit up yesterday in rainbow colors in honor of lgbtq p.r.i.d.e. month. parades were held across the country. roxana saberi has the report. in minneapolis police officers were allowed to march in this year's parade. initially they had been excluded over the acquittal of an officer in the shooting death of philando castille. protesters upset with verdict tried to stop the march. in san francisco crowds shouted political gains like same-sex marriage while some marchers expressed anxiety that president trump could roll them back. >> i kamt down because we need to be working together.
