right now at 11:00. tighter security. just as the busy summer travel season begins, the department of homeland security demanding changes at airports across the world. empty lot for year, the site of a south jersey landmark is about to get new life. the multi-million dollar project that will soon rise. first, a narrow escape. unbelievable video shows the moment a truck crashes through the front of a local brewery. good evening, i'm ukee washington. jessica has the night off. a woman eating lunch manages to get out of the way in northern liberties neighborhood. "eyewitness news" reporter david spunt is out the restaurant with more on this frightening ordeal. >> reporter: the banner behind me marks the spot where the truck crashed. the restaurant is open and the driver is in police custody. this surveillance video needs few words, if any, customers

were enjoying lunch when a u-haul clammed through the glass. the woman who jumped away made it out without a scratch. >> it's seemed unreal. felt like a movie. >> reporter: michelle tall lor said she's lucky to be alive. the truck missed her by a few feet >> i heard the noise and turned around and saw the truck and i didn't see her, it was really like, my god where is she. >> reporter: she was surrounded by shattered glass and but she was worried about someone else >> the driver in the car, he was screaming and yelling to get out to my immediate reaction was get him out of the truck. >> reporter: authorities say the driver was going the wrong way north on 2nd street before he crashed. this cell phone video obtained by "eyewitness news" shows the crashed u-haul. the driver falls out yelling.

he starts running away. >> million things are going through your mind. >> reporter: the brewer remay be back open but he said it's this surveillance video that will continue to haunt him. >> my heart is racing. it's scary. i can't put it into words. >> reporter: this brewer rejust open add few weeks ago on june 1st, he's facing charges of dui. david spunt cbs3 "eyewitness news" >> thank you. a community comes together to remember a woman stabbed to death in a park behind a philadelphia high school. "eyewitness news" had a vigil for deborah gulliver in north philadelphia, police are searching for suspects in her death, on saturday, gulliver took a shortcut home through a park. her body was found around 3:00 a.m. about 30 minutes after she entered the park. a 2-year-old is recovering after police say a farm terror ran over the little boy.

it happened in lumberton burlington county. just before 6:00 tonight. the boy's injuries are not life-threatening, and paramedics flew to cooper university hospital with the boy. police are investigating the cause of the accident. a top carnival is facing sexual assault charges. australian police charged cardinal the chief financial advisor to pope francis and australia's most senior catholic. the incidents are believed to have occurred some time ago. he will return to australia and appear in court on july 18th. he denies wrongdoing a local coach is under arrest after police say he sexual assaulted children in bensalem bucks county. a judge set his bail as $300,000. shannon westmoreland coached football for the athletic association between 1999 and 2005. during that time, he's accused of abusing three girls. authorities say there is nothing specific that points to more

victims, but a full investigation is underway. >> these cases take on a pattern. and we're just concerned that the pattern may have repeated itself in this instance. >> authorities say parents of football players and cheerleaders should talk with the children. >> a disturbing crime in south philly. homeowners are dealing with hateful graffiti. city workers didn't waste time, power-washed and painted over the messages right away. still residents are concerned at the thought of vandals targeting their neighborhood >> i've been here 70 years. my concern is the statement kill a cop. save a life. like what are you thinking? i mean, it's one thing, you know, to put graffiti up. how serious are you on the statements? >> i've been here 35 year, all of a sudden you get this >> detectives are reviewing surveillance cameras from local businesses to help identify a suspect or suspects.

police are asking for the public in the case of a vicious attack caught on camera in west chester in the video you see a man punching another man on gay street sunday. the victim suffered a serious head injury. anyone with information is asked to contact the police. there are new safety rules that could impact your next trip to the airport. u.s. is demanding airlines around the world to step up their security measures for flights headed to the united states. >> we're not standing on the sidelines while fantastics hatch new plots the united states take aviation security seriously and so should they didn't >> those who choose not cooperate are slow to adapt adopt these measures could be subject to other restrictions including a ban on electronic devices, on aircraft or a suspension of flights into the united states >> they apply to flights to the

united states from 280 airports in 105 countries. they include enhancing overall passenger screening. increasing security protocols around aircraft and passenger areas. expanding the use of bomb detecting dogs, and heightened screening of personal electronic devices. >> these measures will be both seen and unseen, and they will be phased in over time. >> the security coming as u.s. intelligence indicates terrorists are determined to get bombs on passenger planes by using laptops to hide explosives. these milks will affect about 325,000 international travelers on 2000 flights day. >> the more security they do the better, if it's inconvenient, people just need to get used to it >> i'd rather be safe than sorry. >> secretary kelly said he has every indication the united states aviation partners will comply. you may recall in march, the trump administration banned

electronics in the cabins of airplanes traveling to the u.s. the administration had threatened to expand that band. these new rules are seen as a compromise. president trump says he's optimistic senate republicans will hammer out a deal on healthcare. they are regrouping after they failed to agree on a plan to repeal and replace the affordable care act. dozen republicans are opposed. democrats say they're willing to work with republicans to fix the affordable care act. testimony in day seven of the corruption trifle philadelphia district attorney seth williams focused on campaign finance. lisa gonzales was executive director for the political action committee friends of seth williams. she testified that she felt uncomfortable with some of williams's spending habits at the union league. those expenses a 26 who doesn't birthday party for williams's girlfriend. the defense attorney argued

expenses made on behalf of the campaign were legitimate. the pennsylvania state senate has advanced a bill in would allow school employees to have guns on campus. senators approved the bill by a vote of 28-22. employees would be rider to have a concealed carry license pass a psychological evaluation, and meet certain firearms training requirements. the bill still requires approval in the house, governor wolf opposes the measure. >> the governor signed legislation aimed at protecting animals. the bipartisan bill increases penalties for animal abuse, it's called lee ray's bill for lee ray. he was found severely abused and neglected as a puppy but nursed back to health. >> in pennsylvania, torturing or seriously abusing an animal in most instances was publishable only by the equivalent of a traffic ticket. that was just wrong. up until now, pennsylvania was

are battling. crews are trying to get a 1600 acre fire in central california that destroyed the home of bing bank theory star johnny galecki. he thanked firefighters they say worked to contain the wildfires. a western low land gorilla born early this month at the philadelphia zoo has a name and his mother was the one who picked it out. boxes full of food were set up in the enclosure at the zoo. each had a name on it. the gorilla's mom ate first out of the one marked ajabu. it means miracle. the name is fitting for the newborn, since the delivery a few weeks ago was a life-threatening situationally human doctors had to help deliver the baby gorilla. this friday, cbs summertime is in philadelphia. the long 4th of july holiday weekend will be getting underway. we're celebrating the history.

the day, and that is not much. a couple of high level clouds working on through with high pressure in control, we're going to keep it quiet as we head throughout the overnight. pleasant mostly clear. high temperatures, surpassing our average of 88. mostly sunny and a bit breezy with the south westerly winds through the afternoon with higher gusts. due points they're all on a slow rise right now, but due points all throughout the day in the 40 and 50 degree range, it felt so comfortable as it has over last several days, still in this awesome category as far as your comfort index is concerned but due points begins tomorrow about 60 degrees, not all too bad, but then by friday, you'll start to feel the steamy factor as we head to saturday boarding on oppressive as far as comfort index, the national weather service talking about the possibility of issuing a heat advisory as we head to saturday.

for tomorrow, beautiful, temperature the low 80's. uv index high with the sunshine and good news, rip current risks will be low. looking ahead to our long holiday weekend, saturday and sunday humid conditions with a good amount of sunshine on saturday. do watch out for spotty storms especially in the afternoon hour, best chance of storms will be saturday night. works out pretty well monday, sunshine, more comfortable conditions, a beautiful day in store. and 4th of july looking better as far as the models are concerned. bumming down the rain chances and increasing the sunshine as we head into independence day tuesday. we've been talking about this rocket launch still not taken off because of weather most times delaying the launch. nasa expecting the launch went 4:25 to 4:48 tomorrow morning, so for those early risers four minutes after lift-off this rocket will generate crowds
