war. we will see what happens today but right now everything looking nice. boulevard, big thumbs up, heading out the door, vine westbound and eastbound side just opening from the overnight construction we are looking g both directions on the vine. this is what i'm talking about just a minute ago we have a water main break in cinnaminson, new jersey. 130 southbound riverton road that right lane compromised and we are showing, around 29 miles an hour letting you know it is slower then usual as you travel on by and give yourself extra minutes. a lot of construction in the next 10 minutes. jim and jan, back over to you. suspect wanted in the deadly shooting overnight is in custody thanks to a father and son who took matters in their own hand. >> "eyewitness news" reporter trang do is live in olney where she just spoke with the victim's family. good morning, trang do. >> reporter: good morning jan and jim. victim identified him as howard white, they say he was trying to stop an area bar from being robbed and ended up losing his life because of it.

here's a picture of him, white 's best friend said he was a retired marine career military man, home on leave from working as a priority security contractor overseas. here's what we know about what happened. just before 1:00 a.m. police patrolling heard arguing and gunshots and rushed to the intersection of the north fifth street and west spencer street. they found 46 year-old howard white with gunshot wound to his head and torso. he was pronounced dead on the scene. officers saw two men running away and they stopped one holding two guns. that man turned out to be a friend of whites and pointed officers in the direction of the suspect. now police say the 25 year-old shooting suspect then broke in the nearby home and got in the scuffle with the father and son. they were able to disarm and subdue him until police arrived and just a short time ago we spoke to the victim's family who gathered at the crime scene and here's how they are remembering him this morning. >> i will not be able to sit with my friend tomorrow morning to have breakfast and

talk about life. >> not a regular hero but an american hero, all right. it hurts to my heart to see my friend laying in the street like a dog. >> i will be praying for the young man who took my cousin's life, i will be praying for them and i ask that everybody will keep me and my family in their prayer. >> now victim's family tells us he had only been home for about a month and a half from kuwait. suspect and father who helped take him down were both taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries, police were able to recover gun used in the shooting as well as two other guns that were in the friend's possessions, but for now we are live, i'm trang do, cbs-3 "eyewitness news", jan and jim back to you. >> keep us up to date, thanks, trang do. in north philadelphia a man is shot and killed execution style and police want to know why it happened. it happened around 7:30 on the 1700 block of north sixth street. now according to eyewitnesses

the 31 year-old victim was talking to friend when shooter walk up and shot him in the head. victim was shot several more times before the shooter walked away. if you have any fur call police right away. more testimony today in the federal corruption trial of philadelphia district attorney seth williams. liset gonzales seen here with our own joe holden was on the stand today. executive director for williams political action committee testified that she was uncomfortable with williams spending including a $2,600 birthday party for williams girl friend, williams defense attorney says the expenses were legitimate. part of the white house travel ban will take effect tonight, following monday's decision from the supreme court. new guidelines, require visa applicants from six mainly muslim countries have a close relative living here in the u.s., seth lemon has more on details from washington. >> reporter: beginning today travelers from iran, libya, somalia, sudan, syria, and yemen will face a tougher time

entering the u.s. as part of the president trump's revised travel ban. earlier this week supreme court partially restored the president's executive order arguing lower courts that blocked policy went too far in limiting mr. trump's authority order was widely criticized as a ban on muslims but trump administration says it is in the interest of the national security. >> we will be able to move forward not focusing on people from one religion or one culture, into a better job at determining who the person is that wants to come and why they want to come here. >> reporter: court did not enforce administration's full ban, instead, saying those with visas are okay, visa applicants and refugees would only be exempt if they can prove they have a bona fide relationship with an american person or entity, all this as the house is expected to vote today on two bills cracking down on illegal immigration. kate's law strengthens penalties on undocumented immigrants hoff a criminal

been sported in or near backyard. both air and ground crews are battling that blaze. on to some more extreme weather now but this time out western wisconsin at lee one person is hurt after a tornado touched down there yesterday afternoon. officials reported significant damage to dozens of farms and homes in that area heavy rain, high wind, knocked down trees, power lines, some, wind gusts were measured between 80 and 90 miles an hour. >> that system is making its way through central u.s. a tornado touched down in southwestern iowa, yesterday, severe thunderstorms rolled through ripping roofs off of homes and badly damaging other properties, and national weather service has issued a tornado watch for most of iowa , more storms smoked to bring large hail and heavy rain. as you say, jim, they can keep it. >> they can keep it. >> i left yesterday. i will not complain about today, maybe. >> i don't think you will be. today looks like another gem of the day just a little

warmer. the variable change here are mainly that it is getting hotter. mercury climbs hotter and starting to get breezy. dew points are beginning to creep up as well. dew point is, what directly relates to how humid it feels outside. it is summer. this is what you expect, right but lets talk about what is typical as well and for that we will go out to, doesn't that look heavenly? a beautiful background. let's throw actual graphic overtop, expected high is 88. we are close to what is typical. eighty-six is the average. we are slightly above that. by july 29th your average high is 87. that is where we will top off late july what tend to be the warmest part of the summer months for our area and then average high by august 29th is 84. that water temperature is getting warm by that point too it marks, that also marks what tend to be the peak of the hurricane season lead nothing to september, however, storm scan remains quiet as we have been talking about, stormy

happy thursday. gateway starting off nice, looking good, beautiful sky, nice, dry roadways, paoli, 202 at valley road, taillights moving in the north bound direction, headlights moving in the southbound direction. big thumbs up here looking spectacular, yesterday was nice, dry, as well, but it started to change. those not on the roadways in delaware, be happy about that. hopefully that doesn't, redo itself today. blue route baltimore pike, both directions looking really good here on the blue route as well. i'm hoping to keep these levels until we get in the 6:00 o'clock hour. we will see how it pans out but sometimes on a thursday is what we see. i-95 south, coming around s curve we are looking g we have an accident on 422 westbound ramp to first avenue plus construction we will talk more about a lot of construction that is happening this morning twenty-three ramp to route 422 westbound is closed until right around 6:00 a.m., jan, back over to you.
