there, 459 southbound, edgemore road closed between 7:00 a.m., 7:00 p.m. >> this guy down here that's now since been cleared. overall construction crews still out there. i'll let you know as soon as they move out of our way, jim, back over to you. >> thank you shall meisha. the search is on this morning for a driver who allegedly shot and killed a recent high school graduate on a highway in chester county. this happened in the southbound lanes of route 100, near route 202, west goshen township. eighteen year old bianca roberson gunned down 5:30 wednesday evening. investigators say the victim merging when red pick-up truck purged at the same time. that is when the driver of the pick-up truck pulled out a gun and fatally shot her in the head. authority have a message for her killer. >> that man who fired the shot, turn yourself in now. every second you are out there, you are only making this worse for yourself and worse for this young lady's family. >> hopefully they find him. roberson had just graduated from high school in west

"eyewitness news" reporter anita oh, joins me in the studio to tell us all about this good news. >> yes, jim, you are the consumer buff. you know we all love a good deal. so there is welcome news for the 44.2 million americans expected to hit the road this holiday weekend. now, right now, the national average gas prices, 2.25 a gallon, that's the lowest it's been for the independence day weekend since 2005.

now the price dropped slightly in delaware, up in pennsylvania, all of these cost changes due to over supply of crude oil. as many remember the impact of gas at more than four bucks a gallon, those in our region taking full advantage of the lower prices. >> we will go down to a lake in harrisburg this weekend. so because the gas prices are low, we're able to do that. >> so these are some historic summer lows for gas prices, so for any drivers planning to buckle up and head to fun destination this weekend, triple a reminding to you check car tires, batteries, fluids, beforehand. now, analysts initially predicted gas prices hit nearly $3 a gallon this summer, so this is pretty stunning drop in prices, but of course, we will enjoy it while we can. >> sounds good. talking about tires, i think i have a nail in my tire. >> i know. >> keeps going down, i couldn't book a repair, so -- >> we should plan a road trip. you can do your little dance? >> yes, exactly. >> in the passenger seat. >> thanks, appreciate it, have a good weekend.

cbs-3 summer fest is spotlighting the city of philadelphia today. and what a better way to celebrate the weekends, but in our historic city, just days from the fourth of july. independence hall to the steps of the art new same, so many notable spots around town, but also some hidden gems. "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo live in south philadelphia, to tell us more. good morning, jan. >> reporter: jim, good morning, we are exploring a couple of gardens today, this is philadelphia's magic garden, probably been by it here on south street a million times. right? but have you ever gone inside? you may be surprised to find out not everyone does. so, we are taking you inside in just a minute. but first, i want to show you another hidden gem. you may not know even exists. tuck away inside the curtis on sixth street, opposite washington square, is a dream garden. not made of traditional leaves and flowers, but 100,000 pieces of glass. >> hidden treasure, but a lot of people come to visit regularly. >> crowds have been coming

here for more than a century now, at 15 feet tall, 49 feet wide. this mosaic took whole year to build. twenty-four panels were created in new york, then re-assembled in philly. this masterpiece, a partnership, brought to life by tiffany's studio based on painting by philly native parish. >> the dream garden based on his guards never new hampshire. this is opaque glass, called savio glass, has a lot of spackle to it. >> restoration gets underway this summer to be complete by the ends of the year. >> once it is cleaned and repaired, it is probably going to look nearly as fabulous as it did 100 years ago. >> from inside the curtis, to out here on south street now, this is philadelphia's magic garden. >> spanning half a block, the grand installation is created when colorful glass bottles, tiles, thousands of mirrors, and more. >> we really describe it as walking into someone's diary, full of anxiety, love, and strange stories. >> it is all the brain child

river, chestnut hill section of philadelphia here, celebrating summer fest around the entire city. nice start to the holiday weaken, his dew point is at 61, he sends in couple every pretty pictures for us, we will show those to you very quickly, beautiful, blue skies, to start it off. sunshine, just off in the distance here, as it is about ready to pop over the horizon and just nice shot of old glory waving in the breeze. currently out there. mean wheel we take you out to the maps. do have stormy weather to track. far northwest though, you have to look real closely, but in this particular batch there are some strikes of lightning being indicated on doppler, some that far is going to just clip us. specifically up toward the poconos, you have got the best chance today, to see any kind of wet weather. scattered in nature. could be locally robust shower or storm that fires up. tomorrow, chances continue specially second half of the day for thunderstorms, but we're not talking wash out f you are headed up this way, don't get scared off by the icons, can make it sometimes worse than it will be but we have to put them in, to gave you a chance how it shakes out.
